RONNY DEILA may revive his interest in £3million-rated Club Brugge central defender Brandon Mechele.
The Celtic boss was given little encouragement when he enquired about the Belgian Under-21 ace in April .
However, the player has remained a possible signing target for the SPFL four-in-a-row champions.
The 22-year-old helped Brugge’s unsuccessful bid for the Belgian title last season.
And Mechele also won praise for his performances in the Europa League, never missing a game as his side reached the quarter-finals.
The Belgians are now preparing to take on Manchester United in the Champions League play-offs, with the first leg at Old Trafford a week tonight.
And there is no way Brugge boss Michel Preud’homme would allow him to leave before the ties.
Mechele also faces a fight to be fit for those games after suffering a knee knock in a league clash against Charleroi.
Deila was impressed by Belgian teenager Jason Denayer during his season-long loan from Manchester City.
And he replaced the youngster when he bought another Belgian, Dedryck Boyata, from the English giants in the summer.
Now he could make it a hat-trick if he goes for Mechele, but he has been warned Brugge will not drop their asking price of £3million for the centre-half.
