CELTIC boss Ronny Deila has heaped praise upon his assistant John Collins.
The pair didn’t know each other until a meeting just over a year ago cemented their Parkhead partnership.And Deila insists Collins’ experience of playing in huge games will be crucial to the Hoops as they look to qualify for the Champions League group stage.
The Norwegian said: “Our relationship is fantastic. We’ll be friends forever – we’re more like a couple now!
“There was a period at the start where we were just getting to know each other. That always happens. And we argue a lot, we don’t always agree. But that’s what I wanted.
“I hate people who agree with me all the time.
“We spoke only for an hour before I arrived here and I knew he was the right one.
“Because of what he achieved as a player, John has a ‘big-time’ mentality.
“When you’ve done it then it’s easier to get things across. He has a lot of respect because of what he did in his career.
“I don’t have the same. I’m better outside the pitch!”
