RONNY DEILA has admitted he is delighted with the progress of Liam Henderson in Norway.
The 19-year-old midfielder has shone at league leaders Rosenborg and was involved in the team’s 3-0 win over Lillestrom at the weekend.
Henderson has scored four goals in six games during his loan period despite being restricted to substitute appearances. He played the last 20 minutes in the most recent triumph.
Deila said: “He hasn’t started any league games yet, but he has played in the Cup and and could play in a midweek match in the competition, as well.
“Hopefully, we will get a better player back.”
The Norwegians are hoping to persuade Deila to extend the loan period which is due to expire at the end of next month.
Coach Kare Ingebrigsen said: “We want to keep Liam as long as possible. I am constantly in contact with Ronny Deila to update him on Liam’s situation and I think he will stay with us.
“He has been a major contributor for us.”
Henderson added: “It’s up to Ronny and Celtic to decide what happens next.”
