DEILA IN JANKO TALKS AS HALSTENBERG STALLS

CELTIC are pushing ahead in their move for Manchester United teenager Saidy Janko – but could be out of luck in their pursuit of St Pauli defender Marcel Halstenberg.
Swiss kid Janko has been targeted by Hoops boss Ronny Deila after impressing during a loan spell at Bolton last season.
The Norwegian is in negotiations for the 19-year-old right-back which continued last night in an attempt to tie up the deal.
Originally, the Hoops gaffer wanted Janko on a season-long loan, but there is the possibility of making the deal permanent if the Old Trafford side give it the green light.
However, indications are that left-back Halstenberg is likely to snub a move to Parkhead and see out the remaining year of his contract at the Bundesliga II side.

The German outfit have made it clear they are in no rush to sell the defender although it is understood they would consider any bids of around £700,000.

But Halstenberg said: “The situation is I am happy at St Pauli and want to stay here and give it full throttle for my remaining year.

“The prospect of a transfer to a bigger club in a year is, of course, attractive. But right now I feel really comfortable here and I would have to consider any change in my team very carefully.”
