DEMBELE EURO GO-AHEAD

MOUSSA DEMBELE looks to be winning his fitness race to play in the first leg of the Champions League second round qualifier against Rosenborg at Parkhead on Wednesday.

The French powerhouse limped out of last week’s 3-0 triumph over Armernian side Alashkert with a tight hamstring.

Dembele struck two goals before he was replaced by Ryan Christie just after the hour mark.

The 22-year-old frontman has already formed what could be a profitable partnership with his fellow-countryman Odsonne Edouard and Brendan Rodgers is keen to allow the players time to blend with the possibility of six more qualifying ties before reaching the money-spinning group stages of Europe’s premier tournament.

However, the Hoops boss will not rush the striker for fear of aggravating the injury.

That being the case, £9million man Edouard is likely to lead the attack against the Norwegians with Leigh Griffiths still sidelined.
