DEMBELE, GRIFFITHS MISS OUT AGAIN, CAN WE SAY THANKS TO COMMONS, BRENDAN?

1

CELTIC’S top marksmen Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths will miss this evening’s Premiership meeting with Partick Thistle at Parkhead.

The thirty-two goal French ace is still nursing a hamstring problem while the Scotland international, who has claimed 14 strikes, has a fractured bone in his back.

The injuries kept Dembele and Griffiths out the title party at Tyncastle on Sunday when Scott Sinclair took over the main striker’s role and hammered in a hat-trick in the 5-0 victory over Hearts.

There could be a place in the starting line-up for Gary Mackay-Steven, who made a cameo appearance for Patrick Roberts in the Edinburgh trouncing at the weekend.

Tom Rogic, of course, is back in the squad for the first time this year after overcoming his ankle problem.

Now that the league is won many Celtic fans would appreciate it very much if Brendan Rodgers could give Kris Commons some game time in a match at Celtic Park to allow the support the chance to express our appreciation for Kris who in previous seasons was a wonderful player for Celtic.

Kris Commons was one of the first to take to social media at the weekend to congratulate Brendan Rodgers and the entire management and playing staff on winning the league.

Even out of the picture, Kris remains a class  act.
