MOUSSA DEMBELE has been called up for France Under-21s’ for two summer friendlies.
The Celtic striker has claimed 32 goals in an outstanding first season at the Hoops to earn recognition from his country.
Dembele has suffered a hamstring injury and is still a doubt for the Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen a week today.
Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he intends to start with Leigh Griffiths in the one up top position so Dembele is likely to be on the bench.
He has returned to training and has done enough for his nation’s new Under-21 boss Sylvain Ripoll to be named in his first squad.
Celtic have been providing Ripoll with updates on the striker’s progress in recovering from the injury sustained at Hampden in the 2-0 victory over Sevco Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
The French play Albania on June 5 and Cameroon three days later.
Dembele is only one of three players named from outside France.
