October was an horrendous month for Ross County. They lost five of six league games and looked doomed. Crucially, most of these games were against teams in the bottom half of the table; they took a point at home to Dundee United but lost to Kilmarnock and Motherwell left Dingwall with a 0-5 win.
A run of form like that can be difficult to recover from. Jack Ross was unable to do so at United before being emptied out. Malky MacKay hung in there and responded with a transformational performance and result against St Mirren, overcoming a halftime deficit to take the win. On Tuesday they plunged Hibs into crisis by deservedly winning at Easter Road.
Those two wins moved them three points clear of the relegation spots. No side in Scotland is more experienced at battling relegation better than Ross County, it has been their daily chore for 10 of the last 11 seasons. They pick up points when not expected, you will not need reminded of which team came to Celtic Park and stopped out run of consecutive Trebles at four.
There will be a demob mood around Celtic Park tomorrow, our last game for a month as football breaks for the World Cup. Some players are off to the tournament, the rest will pack their bags after the game and within days will land in Sydney.
Can you imagine the difference in perspective the County players will have to the game? They have nothing on the roster but to give their all in an effort to frustrate Celtic and take something from the game. Their performance level against Hibs was a new peak for the season and miles ahead of where they were when they came within six minutes of taking a point off Celtic in August.
Celtic have talent in abundance, yet struggled against bottom side Dundee United on Saturday, then had to manage their way through the final minutes at Motherwell. Nothing can be taken for granted tomorrow.
An SFA statement this morning addressed the Jota ‘goal’ at Motherwell on Wednesday, confirming the VAR camera which should have been pointing at play “did not capture an appropriate view of the incident”. We read elsewhere it was trained on the managers at the near touchline, which itself begs many questions, but back to the SFA statement.
Having confirmed the only Hawkeye camera at that side of the field was not looking at play, the SFA nonetheless vaguely imply VAR got the decision right. What they actually said was that VAR determined “the Celtic player had received the ball in an offside position”. Offside has nothing to do with when a player receives the ball, it is only active the instant a forward pass is made. On this matter, the SFA statement makes no comment, but they would like you to think everything worked out for the best anyway.
They then try to divert blame away from themselves by saying “We have provided feedback to the host broadcaster”. “Host broadcaster” is a term you only hear when a UK commentator abroad attributes pictures (or the lack of) to the TV company covering the game. The SFA are the effective host on this occasion and their Hawkeye system does not even broadcasting. This was a shabby attempt at diversion.
Celtic, who campaigned for VAR, must be wondering why they bothered. I doubt in the history of the technology any other club had a goal disallowed when the VAR camera was inconveniently looking elsewhere. One level of conduct for Celtic, it seems.

About 15 years ago, while I was on holiday, some punks broke into my house. They stole various items including family heirlooms. These heirlooms meant a lot to Mrs 3sy. They also stole her brand new car. Apart from getting decent money from the insurance, (I had six sets of golf clubs stolen😜) a programme from the Eufa Cup Final was stolen from my sons bedroom. Not one other item was stolen from there even though it was packed with consoles and computers. Just because of that I believe the intruders were Celtic fans and due to that I bear them no malice. Am I crazy?

They must have been the same guys that burgled me 10 years ago. I came home to find 3 bedrooms trashed, every drawer emptied onto the carpet and every bit of jewellery taken – plus three laptops.
I went into my sons bedroom which was a Celtic shrine. They had made the bed, tidied up and left his £50 in notes on his dressing table!
To be fair, they may not have noticed them due to the clutter!

Whether by intention or not, the introduction of VAR in Scotland is going to expose 4 things,
1, that officials are chronically incompetent
2, they are also biased
3, that the SFA could not run a piss up in a brewery
4, that the SFA are not transparent
In additional, the technology to use VAR properly isn’t available. I’ve heard that EPL has 33 cameras at each match and we have 6.
VAR will be the worst thing to ever happen to the SFA. It is all going to unravel big time and Celtic must use this as a weapon to push for reform.

1959. I was 1year old. I had a terminally I’ll older brother of 11 years old. He was Celtic daft. He contracted an illness at aged 8. The doctors never gave my mother a definitive cause for his death at aged 12.

The brosie faced brothers in their blue blazers and brown brogues, will brag in their temples tonight and smirk about “sorting Timmy,” accept a wee dram and move forward in the queue for their turn at the goat.
Standing in a short queue at the pharmacy today, I was thinking of VAR being an obstacle to our style of play.
We are already being deliberately slowed by obstruction at free kicks, deliberate time wasting, slow return of balls by ball boys, deliberate fouling, often unpenalised. And now VAR which is can take 3 or 4 minutes to determine decisions against us.
So how do our players retain their concentration and keep their muscles warm during these frequent interruptions? Should we give them some workout routines to maintain their sharpness and ensure muscles don’t cool down while the MIBs are conferring?
Maybe it would help maintain our momentum and sharpness.
Final competitive game for a wee while tomorrow so let’s go out in style.
A couple of early goals with shots from inside our own half to rule out VAR, followed by a siege of the RC goal, a confidence building hat trick for Kyogo and a Malky McKay expulsion should give us something to talk about for the next month other than VAR.

‘View ’67’, which is located within the Lisbon Lions stand at Celtic Park, has been created to deliver a fantastic new viewing space for 16 wheelchair users and their companions.
The elevated platform allows fantastic sight-lines for disabled fans and is the second elevated platform to open at Celtic Park, following the opening of the Tommy Burns viewing platform at the north west corner of Paradise.
The new area is fully covered to ensure our supporters are protected from the elements and it also provides access to catering facilities.
Lisbon Lion Jim Craig and current club captain, Callum McGregor will cut the ribbon on the new area at 2.30pm on Saturday.
As a Club open to all, Celtic is fully committed to ensuring a positive matchday experience for all our supporters and the Club works on its own and closely with many charities in the areas of disability. The Club is also delighted for a number of years to have achieved the Positive About Disability accreditation, a Government-backed initiative aimed at promoting the employment of disabled people.
We continue to work closely with the Celtic Disabled Supporters’ Association to address the needs of fans with disabilities, and we were delighted to recently launch our Invisible Disability lanyard which has proved extremely popular with supporters.
Just last month our new sensory pack, which is designed to support our fans who face a range of challenges, particularly those with autism, when attending Celtic Park. These are designed to make our fans’ match day experience more comfortable, memorable and enjoyable.
Alexis Dobbin, Celtic’s Disability Access Officer, said: “We are really pleased to be able to open this new facility, one which we feel will once again make a very positive enhancement to our matchday experience for our disabled supporters.
“We are always looking at ways in which we can improve and develop in this area and we will continue to work closely with our fans to ensure we can address their needs.”

Good Morning Celts – A Must Win Game Today, again…
Reading through the machinations surrounding Jota’s chalked off master goal, it’s interesting that some Celtic supporters and others are still of the view that Jota “could have been off side”, this is not the case.
VAR has to prove he was offside, if they can’t prove he was offside then the default was he is onside. It’s not up to the VAR to guess, in an offside situation it is a binary yes or no.
If it comes down to a subjective opinion then the decision has to be made by the referee, of course he can consult his assistant referee but ultimately he is the only one who can take a “subjective” decision.
The fact is the Hawkeye technology is designed to take out the guess work, if used properly it does.
Now one of the reasons that some think Jota “could be offside” is he’s leaning forward and his head is in advance of his body, that’s not the case and this exact phenomenon is known and is actually warned against in the EPL Q&A on VAR as follows…
… “the camera angle can make him appear to be further back or forward than he is in reality of the horizontal line drawn.
In the photo below, Eric Dier’s left knee is his body part that is furthest back, but the camera angle makes his head appear closer to the goalline.”

If you look at the photo of Eric Dier you will see that the angle from the camera to his head is much tighter than the angle used in the Jota decision.
Now it begs the question, if the F.A. in England knew about this illusory effect, why didn’t the S.F.A. Officials?
We were told they got extensive training on VAR, they have had hours “playing” with the systems before they went live.
How come the SFA VAR didn’t know they couldn’t rely on such an angle from only one camera? That “gridline” photo that the VAR produced could not ascertain accurately if Jota was onside or not.
Now let’s run a few scenarios
No 1 – The VAR didn’t have the camera angles he required, due to failures with the broadcasters, he was lost for what to do and in the rush to get back to the referee produced an inaccurate and mistaken decision to go with a far off camera.
No 2 – The VAR did have a view from the camera he would typically use, he was pretty sure the attacker was offside (confirmation bias!? ) yet the angle he had was showing Jota onside, so needing to get back to the referee, he manipulated the view from another camera angle and produced what he thought was the right result
No 3 – The camera that the VAR was supposed to use had a photo, in the angle he had to work with it was showing Jota onside on crosshair line calibration, he didn’t want to confirm the onside and in effect “allow” a Celtic goal – knowing the illusory “Eric Dier” effect, he decided to go for another camera at an accute angle and go for gridline analysis as he could show Jota offside.
Now, we must consider that officials are normally given the benefit of the doubt – yet due to Scottish officials track record and the “statement” the SFA issued yesterday we must ask ourselves if they deserve any benefit of doubt for their excuses or whether their is collusion and a cover-up going on.
Do Scottish officials think it’s their job to stymie Celtic and give it’s closest opponent a carry cody!? Or are they just hugely incompetent.

An incident in the moenchengladbach v dortmund game last night, ball comes off a player in the box and strikes the arm of another player whose arm was away from his body ,but the same player had his back to the ball and therefore it was deemed as not deliberate, so why is this not the rule here and is it only Celtic and anyone playing sevco who don’t get penalties for hand ball?
