ADAM MATTHEWS has praised Jason Denayer after the on-loan Manchester City defender’s return to action.
The 19-year-old Belgian youngster hadn’t featured since mid-November when he sustained a foot injury in a home win over Dundee.
But he has looked impressive since teaming up once again with Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the rearguard.
Matthews said: “He has done brilliantly considering the length of time he was out.
“He looked like he had never been away, so it’s great boost to have him back and it strengthens the squad even more.”
Boss Ronny Deila added: “Jason is an important player for us, but, of course, it will take time for him to get back into top shape.
“He has remained focused, but he has been anxious to get back playing.
“Obviously, I’m happy that he’s back.”
