DENAYER DEVELOPMENTS

FORMER Celtic loan star Jason Denayer may be forced to demand a move from Manchester City – as CQN Magazine revealed last night.

The Belgian could look to move if Manuel Pelligrini signs Valencia’s £28million-rated central defender Nicolas Otamendi.
That was the view of the player’s agent Jesse de Preter, reacting to news that the Etihad outfit are in talks with Otamendi’s representatives.
And that has alerted Hoops boss Ronny Deila who could welcome the 20-year-old back to Parkhead on another season-long loan deal.Denayer was moved into the first team squad this summer after impressing during his spell at the Hoops.
Ironically, the classy centre-half signed a five-year deal after replacing Dedryck Boyata who moved to Deila’s SPFL champions in a £1.5million deal.
But the move for Otamendi, and the fact City will not allow Eliaquim Mangala to go, casts doubt over the Belgian’s chances of first team football.De Preter insisted the situation will be assessed if Otamendi comes in.
Denayer’s agent said: “He was not in the selection against Chelsea, but that was no surprise to us.
“But if City get a defender, that’s it. They had promised us that no more defenders of that calibre would come. That does worry me.”City sources say there is no chance Mangala will leave and it is highly unlikely Martin Demichelis or skipper Vincent Kompany would make way.De Preter added: “If he is to sit on the bench or in the stands, he leaves. That’s an agreement we have with the club.
“He has to play, also with a view to the national team. But I repeat, that is not yet on the agenda. Jason also remains calm.”
