Gustaf Lagerbielke was playing first team football in the Swedish Allsvenskan, a stronger league than the Scottish Premiership, when he moved to Celtic just over a year ago. He soon played a crucial role in an early season win at Ibrox which proved to be so pivotal later in the campaign. He also pitched in with the winner in our first home Champions League victory in a decade.
Now 24, is he is on loan at Dutch side Twente. It’s difficult to muster a firm view one way or the other on Gus. His appearances were few and far between, and often on the most demanding occasions. Five of his seven league appearances resulted in clean sheets. His winning goal against Feyenoord offset two yellow cards in the earlier game in Rotterdam.
Signings don’t all work but for someone as young as Gus, they should result in a player continuing to develop. If new arrivals are not playing regularly for Celtic, we need to find them football elsewhere. A loan with option to buy at Oostende was enough to convince Philippe Clement’s Brugge to pay £4m for Jack Hendry just two months after the player officially left Celtic. That loan was good for the player and good for Celtic. Brugge even made a profit on the player when he left for Saudi last summer, although things didn’t work out at Brugge.

Who would win a fight between..
“Just got the Idah deal done, stop penny pinching and pay the money ” and ” who the f..k thought it was a good idea to spend nearly £10 million on that dumpling Idah”
An Dun,
So,you have written off Lagerbielke,because,in a game,he was beaten for pace on the halfway line,bye a very clever Feyenoord forward.Grabbed him,and got a yellow.Really ?
If that is the bar we are setting, then we wont see many CHs turning out for their teams at the top level.Happens every game, and its called” Taking one for the team”.In fact Calmac got booked for same offence recently. No mention of 5 out of 7 clean sheets, including 4 away from home.First game at Ibrox two days after being signed.Nope, focus on the only thing you can call the boy out on.
Idah did great for us last season and has all the assets that a good centre forward needs these days…
Remember when we stayed up all night to get Pukki*
A very good striker never really settled at Celtic
Things will be different for Adam perseverance from all concerned will ensure the bhoy comes good

CQN Newsflash,
Idah was not worth the money.
Well,if that’s the case, the buck stops at Brendan.
FFS,hope Engels is good.

An old mate that sat next to me high in the Northstand told me before he’d even seen him in Parkhead that Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink ( or Castlemilk? ) was a “ Lump of Wid “ I remember how we laughed together, the night his header beat the Rainjurz and set up the title.

AN TEARMANN @ 1:45 PM,
Think you might have that poster wrong…
Apart from the previous incessant trolling HS is also a multimoniker
So no wonder he’s defending Darwin & Co
Hail Hail

Chairbhoy.
You pick me up most incorrectly
I was answering Hot Smoked((jim) in my post
I know HS,he until recently sat down below me in the north stand
I at no time suggested HS is a troll,he isn’t
He,like you,me and the majority of posters have one settled moniker and have had from day one on here, unlike the trolls range:–,
Dobwin,jhb,,cloud9,Andrena,Tommy to name a few
Hope that clears your cobwebs :-))

Any comment Chairbhoy on your post the other night?

Idah and Scales on the bench
What happened to Mikey Johnston, is he injured or not in the squad?
Bhoy from the Republic just scored goal of the season, offside
Celtic have a good draw in the Women’s CL qualifier, Vorskla Poltava from the Ukraine.
Might also benefit from the fact that both legs, Sept. 22 and 26 will be played in Airdrie, due to the war in Uraine. Strange decision but might well help the Ghirls make it through to the last sixteen.
Grabbing the forward’s shirt on the half way line, pulling him back and taking a yellow is a core competency …. for Giorgio Chiellini
Kevin Hughes – great stuff. Respect
I think a team comprising 10 guys all born within a few miles of Celtic Park … plus one “foreigner” … from, say, 1967 ? ….
… would finish off your lists beautifully.

Where else in Scotland could you recreate war torn Ukraine?😀
Auldheid – respect also to you for attempts at bridge building.
Could be it just needs a smart, wise, conciliatory human being acting with humility to get this moving …
Could be you is that guy?
I quite like our board but, IMHO their weaknesses are fairly clear.
I think they’re very good strategically, decent tactically and D-minus on communication.
In recent fan survey I suggested a Chief Customer Officer role be created at boardroom level.
Someone with a bit of juice needs to own the engagement and comes with the fan base.
The majority of our information comes from Brendan’s media conferences, JPT answering queries or occasional “Statement from Celtic FC” presumably cleared by the board.
Clear gap.

Could be a bit unsettling for the Ukrainians to have to go there twice….
Once is usually more than enough for the unwary traveller….
Ireland need to conjure up two goals against the Greeks now.
But it favours the opposition if the game opens up….
Catch22
Not a scathing attack on clemente by the bbc in this club by club summary but it’s obvious they’re saying there’s no progress.

2-0 final in Dublin. Neither Idah nor Scales make an appearance.

Ireland chronic.Instead of taking it out on strikers, they want to gut that midfield.Very, very poor.
Idah on last 10 mins.

Just spoke to my mate who was there, idah on 84th min and Scales not given go in either Greece or England game.
Lets hope both have good CL games as the Icelandic chap appears a little championship centric.
Ireland like Scotland are in a state of transition.

My, probably fatalistic, view on it is that there’s very little that Celtic can do to change what people post on the internet. People behave in pretty much the same way online no matter what the subject is these days, it would be a very big job to move the dial even slightly and I’d prefer we used our energies and resources more productively.
====================
What folk post on the internet is a result of what they think is taking place.
These thoughts based on not knowing become facts if not responded to.
All sorts of ill thought out memes based on not understanding the business aspect of a PLC and how that impacts on what happens on the park create the culture of confrontation.
However if I were a Board member my response to any suggestion that might improve relationships through better communications would be:
” Why bother? The support do not want it and unless their was a willingness from them to participate in culture change, anything we do or say would not be trusted or even used to heighten criticism.”
Communication has to be at least two way, horizontal not vertical to share the feelings of those criticising and those being criticised.
In the end what we think is what we get and only by sharing and correcting our thinking will Celtic truly reflect the ethos that led to its creation.
This says it all (apologies if I have posted before)
Two men live side by side in semis and share a back garden. A fence divides the gardens. It is dark green on one side and light green on the other. Mr Dark Green thinks the fence is all dark green. Mr Light Green thinks it is all light green. It is only when they talk and Mr Dark Green invites Mr Light Green in to his garden that they discover the truth that the fence is dark green on one side and light green on the other. As a result of sharing they are more enlightened than when they ignored each other.
It is time for Mr Celtic to invite Mr Celtic Cyberspace into his garden. It’s time to talk, time to trust.
there not their

It’s good to know that FSR will clamp Sevco, the Barcabhoy link was helpful too.
From a very limited understanding it’s still easy to see that ‘they’ are restricted until they can figure out new ways to become profitable, and easy to see why Celtic focus on winning the League.
What’s not clear is the ‘stockpile’ when it was earnings from football and spendable on future recruitment. Spend it or lose it! comes to mind given our historic windows it’s not surprising Celtic supporters – want to know the plan for PL’s undescribed buffer at the last AGM. It’s a communicable investment plan thats needed, for modern day football.

I had transaction failed on CTV this week and it said the card had expired – not so.
I went back in and subscribed, I did get there but it was slow as a week in the jail. It now shows not my subscriptions as active but my old one as “historic”.
Good luck, hopefully will speed up soon.
