There is no point blaming a player you paid £6m for, for not delivering. It’s better to look at the process which brought him to the club.
In signing a player who has already had a season in the EPL, you indicate that you’ve decided not to pursue the development strategy previously in place. More evident of this exists, as you know.
Developing players is not easy, not everyone is up for it. Spending £6m on players you hope are already developed isn’t an easy route to success either.

Hi OJ
Thanks for your dedication. As you know I like to make sure peoples’ arguments are air tight, though I wouldn’t ever dare to take on the inimitable SFTB God rest his soul and if there is a member of the SFTB family lurking, please join us! We need you.
Anyway bhoy , your statement
‘ Well those fans who’s minds aren’t colonised by Celtic the brand group-think?’
should read
‘Well those fans whose minds aren’t colonised by Celtic the brand group-think?’
Please continue to put in your tuppence worth to those who have given their lives to G40 3RE, it doesn’t go unnoticed.
!!BadaBing!!
What does the refurbishment entail do you know?
Thanks
Trusty has IMHO had a few poor games in an otherwise good and occasionally excellent season.
I think the same could be said of several players and of the team as a whole.
It’s unrealistic to expect the same level of performance from players when the league is ( and I shiver a little in tempting fate in saying this) as close to won as it pretty much can ever be at this stage of the season.
The League Cup Final was a game which truly mattered and we won that, albeit just.
The next game which truly matters is next Wednesday.
I hope and expect to see a different level of performance from what we’ve seen in the last few weeks.
McPhail Bhoy- from what I know, I think it’s a lot of H&S improvements, nothing major to the structure of the stadium……I hope
A song for us v the hun.

I should say I am much more anxious a bearish about our dominance than Paul. That said he has been correct for the past 20 years. Going back to the Seville money nonsense and MONs unsustainable cost base. So who am I to question.
Sevco every night this week tea time TV Scottish news.
Friday will there be a preview of their mouth watering meeting with Fraserburgh?
Live TV coverage of the game itself of course.
Paul Elliott didn’t ‘set the heather on fire’ in his first season in 1989 – however he was Scottish Footballer of the year in 1991 – maybe Trusty can follow suit – let’s give him a bit of time – we’ve seen what he can do, all that’s needed is consistency. Adam Idah? – maybe think back to John Hartson. HH
Judging by the ticket availability alone the attendance seems to be in the region of 45,000 for Saturday.
As for the number actually attending we might be less than half full.
The thrill of the cup with a really tough opponent used to attract more fans than league games back in the day.
I love these games though because the 30000 or so who do go along do so because they really want to be there and value the opportunity to get behind their team.
I hope the team are on it from the start and give the many fans who don’t get to go every week and the faithful a game to remember.
a rangers person called clyde tonight to cinvince them, the league is still in their grasp.
win the away games, beat timmy twice, and they will crumble.
fed by “their blogs think they are finished”., they see it we beat them convincingly, blah blah blan, adn the dundee result shows they are weak ………….
remind me what was the recent result for thems up there.
FWIW. ‘Thems culture’ is based on zero tolerance consequently they have no time or constitution to develop in line with their income, as a normal club would.
Celtic’s 30 year start and dominance consumes Sevco at a faster rate than it did Rainjurz.
It’s simple, we can’t deal with the high press when continually playing the ball out from the back, Brugge, The Rangers and Dundee have worked this out and more teams will catch on.
With pacey players like Kuhn,Kyogo and Maeda up front, surely a long diagonal should be a choice now and again, especially when teams are pressing us in our own half. Our midfield are continually putting our defenders under pressure by passing the ball back rather than gambling and playing a forward pass into space and turning opposing defenders.
As far as development goes I really do wonder what’s the point, the boys who are not good enough are being developed to play with other clubs in the lower Leagues, and those who are good enough are now being cherry picked by teams in England and other top Leagues, with the lure of reasonably big money contracts before they even make our 1st team.
It’s not all bad news, win our next 3 games and a couple of decent signings and everything will feel good again. Let’s face it 13 points ahead in the League, one trophy in the cabinet, every chance of the treble and hopefully progress to the play off stage of the Champions League isn’t to be sniffed at.
tickets for the William Hill Premiership match v Dundee on Saturday, January 25 (kick-off 3pm) will be available on general sale from 10am on Friday, January 17.
Ridiculous amount of games December and January, if we do get 30k plus on Saturday, it would be excellent, stupid kick off time as well
Evening all.
Something from my second favourite team and final.
A wee clip from the 1970 World Cup winning magnificent Brazil team.
A couple of things.
1. The scorer of Peru’s second goal.
2. Brazil’s 4th goal in the final, MAGNIFICENT.

beacuase the mugs that support the rangers have once again bought into a chairman stating the revenues are up, i had a wee look at business 1.1 –
revenues are vanity, profity are sanity, cash is king.
——————–
i would suggest thier match against fraserburgh will be trading at a loss.
they will be out of pocket just for hosting the game.
ergo an away game would have contained costs.

Know your “break even” sales figure every week. It’s very motivational to know that all the overheads are covered by Wednesday, and the rest of the week is real profit!

————-/
I do respect the position that Paul has taken of late on certain issues, and he has of course been right on other things in the past. It is quite clear that he is not Brendan’s biggest fan, however, at the risk of sounding like a ‘broken record’, I think wholesale criticism is premature at this moment in time.
Right now we are position A, on the pitch and off it (as the interims due out in a few weeks will show) – yes we take heed of a few recent performances, but there has been serious and/or lasting damage done?
I’m not, nor ever have been, in the ‘happy-clapper’ brigade, but I am content to let things play out and confident we will deliver – if wrong I will of course line-up for a serving of humble-pie. Cheers HH.
at the start of the season, many a monica posted they wanted to be competative in europe, win the league again, but would be ok to sacrafice cups and performances for european progress.
did anyone think we would be here at this stage ?
torn faces .

Cast your mind back to December 2001, mcpish walks out on the hibbees to join the deid team, first game against us the LC semis which they win 2-1, next game a 1-1 tie at Parkheid, then 2-3 tae them in the SC Final after a good Big Bad John goal is chalked off when luvtaedive scores their winner very late in the game, and all we read about is mcurine has MON’s number.
The following season a similar pattern continues, out of 4 games we win only one, also we win sfa that Seville season, however the next season we have the wipeout 4 out of 4 and before we know it questions are asked about a manager who walked out on motherwell and hibs, a flash in the pan or as its now called new manager bounce as he contrives to lose 7 consecutive derby games
Steptoe is also being lambasted, NOT by the smsm, but by the fans so in true narcistic fashion, after giving his manager the kiss of death around Christmas time, that is until a Scott Brown led Hibbees knocked them out of the SC at hades, he wisnae fired as rainjurs don’t fire managers, naw they throw them intae the clyde he just stepped down to allow paulie le guen to take over, you really couldnae make it up.
So why are we questioning the Blessed Brendan here.
Bada
We must have a left back close to signing if this is happening now.
Cesc Fabregas is their manager so may have something to do with it
refurbishment sounds better BD
Man ure are well named. Southampton all over them. Half time boooooos😁
They could lose to Sevco, 100s of millions spent on unsuitable players, multiple management changes their huge turnover and worldwide fan base is covering this.
dessybhoy- possibly Barca calling the shots
Stephen Fletcher still scoring goals (for Wrexham) sixteen years after the Willo Flood window…..
Watching Man U tonight. They are terrible, really terrible. Do not be suprised if the new huns put them to the sword.
