MICHAEL DUFFY also joined Celtic yesterday, alongside the two signings from Dundee United; Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven.

The player joins Celtic from Derry City for a fee believed to be around £100,000 and has signed a four and a half year deal with his boyhood heroes.

The 20-year-old striker impressed Ronny Delia and his backroom team during his recent trial with the Hoops, during which he bagged two goals in a friendly match against Newcastle United.

And the young Irishman has admitted that he is elated to have joined his Bhoyhood heroes.

“It feels amazing. It’s like a dream come true,” he said. “I came over here on trial just before Christmas and spent eight days here and saw two matches that I’d never been to before. It was brilliant.

“I’m now going to work hard and try my best to make an appearance for the first-team and make the fans happy. This is the club I’ve always supported and this is huge for me.”

CQN has been following the progress of Michael Duffy for a while with numerous articles on him on this site. We’re delighted that he’s now signed. Welcome to Celtic, Michael!
