Livingston were awful in their 3-0 defeat at Celtic Park in August, by some measure the poorest team we have seen this season. They have played 14 games since then without a solitary win and securing only five draws. So tomorrow’s game will be easy for the champions, right?
The devil is in the detail. Only two of those 14 Livingston games were settled by more than a single goal. Hibs (4-0) and Motherwell (3-0) won comfortably, but every other team was forced to battle until the final whistle. Newco required a 94th minute winner on one occasion, and benefited from a penalty decision, later ruled as incorrect, on another.
Hearts took the lead in the 91st minute the only time they faced Livi this season. Dundee scored a 97th minute penalty to secure their 3-2 win at Dens, while Motherwell scored in the 93rd minute to win at the Tony Macaroni.
Aberdeen’s 0-1 win over Livingston last month came courtesy of an 80th minute goal, while St Mirren scored the only goal of their game against the same side in the 72nd minute. That result is the earliest Livingston have gone behind in a loss since playing Celtic in August, apart from the two heavy defeats to Hibs and Motherwell. A league table can be a reflection of fine margins. Livi manager David Martindale has reason to believe his fortunes are due to turn.
Coming from North American football, Wilfried Nancy will be familiar with plastic pitches. He might need a refresher on the material covering the acre of West Lothian where Livingston ply their trade, however. This pitch is one of the primary reasons plastic is judged not fit for purpose by Scottish Premiership clubs. An unseasonally dry few days will not help Celtic’s passing game.

Me?
Aye!
There’s nothing like a huge helping of hypocrisy and profound irony on St Stephen’s day.
“Hear from Brendan before #AlQadsiahDamac 🎙️❤️”
As the Brendan fan boys self combust with faux outrage about US foreign policy and everything else in the world that’s not to their liking they are happy to turn a blind eye to the fact their hero has gone off to make obscene amounts of money in a league funded by one of the world’s most oppressive regimes where 60% of state revenue is derived from oil.
Indeed, as Amnesty says “Saudi Arabia’s human rights record is widely viewed by international rights groups and many governments as highly repressive, with some limited reforms overshadowed by severe ongoing abuses. Despite economic and social modernisation, the country continues to attract strong criticism over executions, repression of dissent, and discrimination against women and minorities”.
Much like what Trump said about the brutal murder of Jamal Khashoggi, I suppose these “things happen” when you have an agenda.
Gene @ 11:47, 11:55 am,
:))) Who knew that was a myth…
Great to see you back posting.
Hopefully after lessons learned last sixteen months and we can put it behind us and push forward with less of the nonsense.
Hail Hail

Minnesota Vikings fans leave games early for various reasons, often due to disappointment with the team’s performance (especially late-game collapses), frustration with quarterback play, or simply getting caught up in big plays elsewhere, like the infamous “Minnesota Miracle” where fans left just before the winning play, but it’s also about the team’s inconsistency and sometimes controversial off-field decisions, like adding male cheerleaders, causing fan division.
Merry Christmas, James.
A tad impolite, if you’ll forgive me saying so.
You don’t seem to do polite when you come here.
🤷♂️
GM so one dimensional , hatred of Rodgers who gave us a quadruple treble — even the most rebid sevco fan has respect. I suppose this site is an outlet for these extreme views with the agenda they constantly push.
I would suggest you broaden your thinking and listen to David Low on ASCOM — hope it helps you.
DD should take a lesson from Pope Francis (build bridges not walls ) when dealing with Trump. The attacks on the fans is highly disturbing aided and abetted by Nicholson has no affinity with the support. DD must surely remove him as he has no interpersonal or communication skills and is not solution oreintated. The divide will grow under him as he retreats to his bunker and continues drip feeding the press with attacks on the fans.
How did Celtic end up with a Board as bad as this with the incompetence to seriously damage the Team and then go with an agenda of attacking the fans.
Nicholson needs to be removed pronto and a new Chairman and CEO will hopefully see those bridges being built.

Royale Union Saint-Gilloise clinched the 2024–25 Belgian Pro League title, marking their first championship in 90 years. They secured the title with a 3–1 victory over Gent on the final day of the season, finishing three points ahead of Club Brugge
At this point was my caveat St Stivs
The title is still up for grabs, but ! At this point Hearts are in pole position that isn’t a myth or conjecture

It is with great sadness that I have just learned on Facebook of the passing of John Robertson. 💚
During the five years we spent at Celtic FC, in which we won many trophies, John played a vital role in maintaining the team’s unity and momentum. It is a kind of work that few people notice, but it is precisely these men working behind the scenes who do an extraordinary job. 💚
He was the link between us, the players, and Martin, the manager. His presence in the dressing room, during training sessions, and even when he took part in them, was not only important for us as players, but also a clear sign that this run of victories was the result of meticulous work carried out by a manager, a coach, and John. 💚
All three were former professionals who knew how to put themselves in the players’ shoes. Without even realizing it, John relieved us of negative pressure and helped us believe in ourselves as good players, while he himself was a true legend. 💚
For all of this, rest in peace.
You fought your battle like a true soldier.
My deepest condolences to your family and loved ones.
My respects. 💚
May God welcome you into His home. 💚
Didier Agathe 💚

Yes – impressive stuff, a level of professionalism that JK & Co can bring to the operation.
Will be interesting to see how it pans out.
……
Hopefully for Rodgers sake there won’t be too many big giant clubs like, Kiarat Almaty, or tricky managers like, Stephen Pressley, or Russell Martin, or Barry Ferguson, for him to overcome.
Given that its the Arab league, then presumably every team in the league will have similar spending levels.
And before by the end of the season big hard as fk DD will have been fully justified in slaying the Rodgers myth.
And probably strengthening brand Old Firm with the appointment of Nancy bhoy.
PS, The Hun fans are having a merry time just by pronouncing Nancy’s name. ffs!
The Celtic Collective will be outsmarted on all fronts, which will surprise nobody who has been blessed with honest eyes.
PS, KINGLUBO – Hail Hail to you and your folks.

GM so one dimensional
Mea culpa I’m afraid
I went fishing it was a joke using Brendan Rodgers as bait, the hook caught a myth, a figment of the imagination of someone last seen in Burnley 1978
Jeez the anger by jove, one could consider it impolite on St Stephens day to misrepresent me by attaching a false geo political viewpoint, goodwill to all men gone the next day after Christmas Day, why so unhappy, so spiteful, what could lead an individual to such an angry hateful rant ?
Laxalt will probably be along soon
lionroars67- you’ve worked it out as well

Speed will beat Livingston more than accuracy.
So we’ll make a few passes into obvious channels .. and the ball will run away like it’s going downhill .. out for a goal kick.
Keep playing it quick and the chances will come.
Happy Saint Stephen’s Day to all on here
“Boxing Day”?
Pah.
PS – that so called boxing match last week?
Another piece of fiction dressed as fact
Wee Paddy showing up well for Birmingham
BTW – what’s the story with the Vikings fans?
Anybody who gets taken-in by, David Low, is the problem.
The untrustable, The Celtic Trust, are probably so switched on that they still do not YET realize that DL was parachuted into the Trust to block a season ticket boycott proposal, just before Celtic FC’s inside job, when Lawwell, Lennon, Broony, threw the 10 in a row season under the bus, for Old Firm reasons.
Timdom sucks – because its full of pretentious virtue signalling suckers.
ALL THE TIME – EVERY TIME!
Celtic Trust should stick to making an erchie of themselves by trying to get Orange Order Marching Flute Bands, banned. lol
If you cannot handle Orange/Masonic Scotland, why not go to Ireland and help the smeared rebels who are trying to save it from being wiped off of the map by the EU and its carefully planted gravy train full of gender bending fake politicians?

Hilarious.
I think history shows Rodgers won only 2 trebles when manager at Celtic. Credit to him for both of these. Especially the first imo.
He inherited a treble winning dominant and great team to watch. He failed to deliver a further treble and left a team which had failed to beat its shambolic domestic rival in 5 attempts over a year and sat 8 points adrift in the PL. Given the huge resources he had vs his rivals this was a poor return second time. Only getting par from an easy CL draw seemed to redeem him before his ultimate disgrace v Almaty.
As for his board games. We now see his tawdry legacy which could easily have set the club back decades.
As for David L. I doubt GM would benefit from listening to him. I certainly have no need to listen to David. I have know him for years. Funny how Old Aloysians get abuse on here from many when it suits folk and deified when it suits some at other times.
James Forrest raising the standards to your usual levels. Usual class. I really and sincerely hope the world is kind to you and you get a real job in 2026.

Throughly recommend this podcast Joe and Dion shoot straight, well informed a great listen
In this podcast Joe and Dion discuss the disgusting sport washing levels of corruption within FIFA in awarding Saudia Arabia the World Cup 2034
https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/free-state-with-joe-brolly-and-dion-fanning/id1677583907?i=1000740327132
When Gianni Infantino created FIFA’s Peace Prize, how could he have imagined that the inaugural winner would be his great friend Donald Trump.
But there Trump was on stage in Washington, presenting himself with the peace medal.
On Free State, Joe and Dion look at how FIFA cosied up to autocrats, snake oil salesmen and Trump.
They examine how money not only drives professional sport but has become the distorting lens. These days Trump may be a fan of the FIFA World Cup but he has always been a fan of money
All in behind Wilfred. Nice to see that tide turning and the many abusers of a week ago now beginning to take the blinkers off.
I seriously hope we can get to play a bit of football tomorrow.
