DIARY OF AN EPIC SEASON: NOVEMBER

0

CELTIC’S erratic form in November was perfectly illustrated in two games five days apart.

Brendan Rodgers’ 10-man side – with Daizen Maeda red-carded early in proceedings – crashed 6-0 to Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital as their Champions League hopes were obliterated.

The Hoops reversed the 6-0 scoreline when Aberdeen were the visitors to Parkhead the following weekend as Yang Hyun-jun, Kyogo Furuhashi, Luis Palma (pen) and David Turnbull had the home side coasting before Oh Hyeon-gyu added two more to bring down the curtain on a memorable afternoon.

HIGHLAND FLING…David Turnbull displays perfect poise as he thunders Celtic into the lead in the 3-0 win over Ross County in Dingwall.

The powerful South Korean striker had proved his worth at the beginning of the month when he thrashed in a late winner in a tense 2-1 home triumph over stuffy St Mirren who had stunned the home fans with the opening goal.

Turnbull, who also missed a penalty-kick, claimed the equaliser with a long-range drive before Oh took the spotlight with his strike for the points-clincher.

Scotland international midfielder Turnbull got the ball rolling in the 3-0 victory over Ross County in Dingwall with Palma and James Forrest joining in.

He was on target again with a spot-kick – after Palma had squandered an earlier penalty – against Motherwell, but the hosts were shocked when the visitors claimed a last-gasp leveller from Jon Obika.

The month came to an end with another Champions League loss, this time 2-0 to Lazio in Rome.
