In the absence of Yang, Martin O’Neill will be keen to have as many forward options available as possible, the frame of Kasper Hogh will feature prominently in his thoughts. Injured in our ill-fated adventure in Linz, his return for the trip to Ibrox at the weekend would be welcome.
It would be a risk re-introducing Kasper tomorrow night at St Johnstone, as well as at Ibrox. We have our first Europa League game in nine days, and a league game against Newco three days after that.
For me, there are no good options. Sebastian Tounekti does not have Yang’s physicality. Camilo Duran has played on the left before he came to Celtic, but shifting him out would rob us of our most effective front man, and we would only push Camilo left to make way for an uncertain return of Kasper. Shim Mheuka has yet to score a goal in senior football and would be an interesting pivot, if given a start at Ibrox.
Top priority will be the league game against Newco with the potential to open an even more substantial gap (tomorrow’s results pending). Reaching the League Cup semifinal will be less pressing. I expect Sebastian to start our next two games.

One game at a time even with,
4 games in 10 days we’re likely to see a fair few team squad changes by the end of the sequence,
This game starts too soon for training again Kieran and Kasper? – Tounekti wide left in place of Yang with Duran and Hassan, it’s a great attacking front line on paper. Nygren, CalMac, Baur in midfield with Donovan CCV Trusty and Scales intact. New bhoy on loan Shim Mheuka has already made an impact, and we might see free scoring Duran rested in the coming games. Old impact sub James Forrest, fit as a fiddle and could be vital this season with another 4 medals at stake for the record breaking Prestwick Flyer.
Alistair Johnston returns to grass, Jota is on course with his recovery so things are looking up. Sorensen and AOC to stiffen the midfield, and Jordan Lotomba somewhere in the back four, could be pitched in soon.
MON to field what he sees as his best eleven the League and three points a priority.

Bournesoup 4 games in 10 days. Mental. The support need to do our bit and support. We will not have our best team out every game but every young player wearing the hoops will be giving it all. Time for the fans to step up, win lose or draw.
Can’t remember when I looked forward to a season more , even without the CL glamour/terror combination.
It was probably that season when Sevco were cursing the Brechin groundsman for not cutting the hedge a wee bit lower .
VAR have now got involved in the Shankland signing for the huns as they deem it a clear and obvious error.
