DIJKS TOLD TO SNUB HOOPS

CELTIC target Mitchell Dijks has been told to snub a move to the the SPFL champions.
The versatile defender has been linked with a £1million summer switch to Parkhead as Ronny Deila seeks cover for left-back Emilio Izaguirre.
However, Dijks’s Willem II boss Jurgen Streppel has told the 22-year-old that Germany should be his next destination.
The player joined the Dutch minnows on a free transfer from Ajax at the start of the season and has impressed in his 27 appearances in the Eredivisie.
Streppel expects a lot of interest in Dijks in the summer and said: “Everyone knows our numbers, so they can just call. But he also has his price.
“He’s been a thrill. Big, very strong and quick. He can defend and attack. There are not many good Dutch left-backs at the moment.
“After Jetro Willems comes Mitchell Dijks, I think. Such good players are hard to detect.

“In the top division in Netherlands, he did not look out of place. Maybe even more over time. A few weeks ago I was at Munchengladbach against Sevilla. This type of full-back in Germany is really written on his body.”

Dijks has already stated that a club of Celtic’s European standing would certainly interest him.
