Dilemma of youth development

1406

I know squad numbers are limited but I’m disappointed Eoghan O’Connell has not been retained. In his performances early last season he displayed the attributes of a modern-day footballing central defender. He has a future in the game and will do well wherever he goes next.

The perennial dilemma of youth development is that while teams want to improve performances NOW, they also need to leave space for worthy development squad candidates to grow into. Kieran Tierney got there, but the truth is, Celtic had been trying to sign a left back for year but were unable find anyone of the necessary standard. If we did, Kieran, Eoghan, would never have had the chance.

If she wanted half the house, you should have magnanimously agreed.

    Mags.

    An interesting take.

A claim that Scottish Tories are distancing themselves from English Tories because their association with the DUP is a toxic one in Scotland.

  4. Nae bother BOBBY.. It happens.

I dont usually engage when you are all getting into a political one. But ill just say this, im encouraged by the amount of young people who have voted this time. Now i’m from a generation,(or maybe it just me) who thought, ‘it doesnt matter who you vote for, they’re all the same’. Ive been watching a lot of this election, and the enthusiasm of the young voters has blown me away. Ultimately these kids will be the politicians of the future. And as Jeremy Corbyn says, Hope over fear.

I was in London and Scotland last month (amongst other places). What shocked me the most in the U.K. Was the reporting on Corbyn. BBC was full of innuendo and contempt. Sky however, was just constant abuse.

Laura Kuenssberg from the BBC has conducted a campaign vilifying Jeremy Corbyn for the last 2 years. A despicable individual who should have no place in any news organisation. A bought and paid for Tory lickspittle IMHO. Worse than a hun!

  9. I reckon it would be pretty hard to report news without being accused of being biased. I go on newsnow which gathers lots of sources. They pretty much all have an agenda. Can anyone point me to a unbiased news source?

I wonder if May thinks she might have been better sticking to policies rather than trusting in the right-wing press to destroy Corbyn while she relied on meaningless soundbites.

To answer your question it depends on your level of stupidity gullibility and tribalism as to what defines unbiased news.

    Talk is cheap.

You took action. There`s the rub.

I would sincerely doubt that the Board feel the sense of anger any less deeply than you , me and the vast number of Celtic supporters who are aware of the shocking injustices which you and others have fought so hard to put right.

What should the Board have done and what would we as a club have gained ?

The understanding and intervention of the UEFA , themselves heavily compromised ?

A symbolic ” Mea Culpa ” from the SFA.

The symbolic removal of titles and cups.

Different figures in the record books.

A few headlines in yesterday`s chip wrapper ? From journalists who have no liking for Timmy ? In fact ,quite the reverse .

A refund of monies we could and should have earned for participation in the C.L. ?

Where would the refund be sourced ? Rangers ? The SFA ? The SPL ? Uefa ?

You would win the argument and without doubt lose the fight for compensation.

A Pyrrhic victory imho. A symbolic hiding.

Principles are always to be admired , but I hate to see such a Celtic lover denying himself the joy of attendance at the gemme.

    Regards and Hail Hail .

Celtic PLC need to state that their club was cheated. Simples. They don’t because they value the bigot buck.

Reading Auldheid’s posts about his frustrations with the Board etc reminded me of Hiroo Onoda…

“The Japanese soldier who ‘hunkered down’ in the jungles of the Philippines for nearly three decades, refusing to believe that World War II had ended, has died in Tokyo. Hiroo Onoda was 91 years old.”

Maybe the fight for truth and justice within Scottish football will take the same level of staying power that Mr Onoda displayed:)

I wouldn’t like spoofing to the Celtic support on my conscience, if we have been sold out.

    Macjay,

There is no joy in attending a rigged game.

I think you know that… and for the benefit of the supporters who paid good money to watch a corrupt game there needs to be changes.

Infact the cheating is getting worse we are actually watching it happen in real time.

    Good Luck:)
