Direction of travel, splurging cash

310

The positivity around Celtic at the moment is in stark contrast to how things were as we homed in on our fifth consecutive title only a few weeks ago. In football, is seems, where you are or where you’ve been is not important, it’s the direction of travel.

If you’re moving forward, like lower-league Hearts were a year ago, fans flock to support. If you’re regressing, even from lofty heights, you’re on your own.  A friend recently joked, “Why don’t we just liquidate and bring the same directors back in a newco?”  That works for some.

Celtic need this injection of positivity right now, the specifics of which we’ve not seen since May 2000, when we knew we were appointing a manager of real talent. It will cost more money in several areas, of course, but keep one point in mind, talk of £15m on this or that is almost certainly not going to transpire into the splurge you might think. Celtic regularly spend close to this.

The CQN Bookstore has a special offer at the moment: buy Charlie Gallagher, What a Player, and get The Winds of Change FREE! Nice early one for Father’s Day, or just a wee read yourself…

Are we allowed to pick a particular poster to feed the bone to? :-)

With the ludicrous and delusional twittering from some goon that P67 and Auldheid have funded the Tax Network Report I would hope that all Celtic blogs have increased their firewalls to avoid the cyber attacks which affected On Fields of Green. By their deeds so shall ye known them.

Thanks, Winning Captains, for updates on newspaper advertisements re Res 12. Is there still a deadline for submission of the dossier to EUFA ? Expose the cheats !! HH

I’ve not commented at all on who the future manager would be even after your strong hints!

If Rodgers is confirmed then it’s a fantastic signing by Celtic.

Think that the official closing of Stock Market is 4.30pm. Though most of them will be away playing golf or watching cricket. HH

  7. Well at last Hotel Hairmyers came through and I am now the proud owner of a stent and the extra good news that I have no damage to my heart. Actually asked the Tim consultant doing me if I would still be able to nick up the 22 stairs to my seat in North Stand Lower. ‘You’ll be able to jog up’ says he.

Hail hail to our NHS staff.

    Here we go, 10-in-a-row…

Nothing personal. Like I recently suggested for Celtic employees mentioning trebles, Ten-in-a- Rowers should be paraded naked round CP, taken to the centre spot and have a sharp, red hot object inserted in their rectums. And then preferably waved about for good measure.
