Disproportionate load ahead of Tannadice cup tie

234

Dundee United lost their first game back after the winter break; the seven games since have seen them lose only once, and that was to the last gasp Liel Abada winner at Celtic Park.  The defensive qualities they showed that day have been evidenced since, as they have not conceded in the four games that followed.

There is a lot of football to be played in the three weeks before we face them at Tannadice in the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup, Celtic have at least six games, United have a maximum of four, a heavy load for the visitors.  If Celtic overcome Bodo/Glimt in the conference league, they will have a last 16 tie on the Thursday before visiting Tannadice on the Sunday.

Despite our comfortable win there earlier in the season, the disproportionate load facing the teams, will make this a difficult cup tie.

In what way did the broadcasters miss them ?

featuring a future cup tie that is 3 weeks away seems daft to me, but hey ho.”

I kind of agree with you but as it was only drawn last night, it is reasonably understandable.

    Typical, sleekit, scottish cup draw.”

It was done quite openly by some Blogger .Not particularly professional but quite open.

I`m sure I watched ex-Celt Paul Slane do the Cup draw live on BBC after Peterhead v Dundee game mibbee i wiz duped,

We should refuse tickets for the bigotdome and cherish the atmosphere we experienced at Celtic Park without their poisonious bile,

    HH

  5. why is there chat about taking tickets for a match at ibrox, is this being proposed somewhere ?

I wouldnt bother anymore, just say no, let them wallow wallow.

as others said, the game two weeks ago was a delicious event and will ive long in the memory.

  6. I know its difficult but wouldn’t it be better if we ignored that annoying arsehole and let him rant on to his many personalities?

  7. Saint Stivs on 15th February 2022 2:27 pm

I agree, I certainly enjoyed the hun free event. The result in general meant there weren’t even many of them in town after the game.

Different atmosphere. Enjoyable for the home fans, but that’s not where the £££££ is.

Old Firm games aren’t marketed for the standard of football on show, but for the intensity of hate the fans have for each other.

And the target audience isn’t Old Firm fans. It’s the neutrals and the curious tuning into watch a match in what is, for them, a Mickey Mouse league in which they would otherwise have absolutely no interest.

  9. The Ole Gunnar Solskjær for Aberdeen stories are interesting. I assume Fergie is involved there somehow.

Any Celtic supporter who votes for these 👇 lying ScotGov chancers shouldny be allowed anywhere near Parkhead.

Having said that, refugees names are multiplied and used as votes in many different constituencies to block unwanted MP’s, like Corbyn, Galloway, Trump, Salmond, the latest ‘heist’ was against George Galloway last July, at the Batley & Spen, by election, GG’s, WorkersPartyGB, cut deeply into what used to be Labour party votes, WPGB taking 22% of the vote in their first ever election, frightening Labour to the core, so dozens of vans full of black bin bags, stuffed full of ‘extra’ votes, dozens of vans summoned by the sitting Labour council, to cheat WPGB out of taking a seat from, Sir Savile Starmer’s, toxic, soon to be liquidated££££, Labour party, the Tory B team, and if elections can be rigged at, Batley & Spen, where else are they being rigged?? with 100% media cover up, apart from their smears against WPGB, which were robustly skelped by GG, when Ch4 news tried to smear GG on the WPGB official bus, but Ch4’s sleekitry was no match for GG, so fake news media was sent home to think again. Good!

    Thanks for the reply.

I believe, though, that the TV audience, whether neutral or curious, was not affected by the composition of the support at either Ibrox or Celtic Park.

Would football fans in Scotland be put off by the make up of the crowd at, for example, a Liverpool V Man City clash?

  15. au contraire,

much of the twitterati and social media bloggers were blown away by the celtic supporters only atmosphere, I thought even the tv channels gave up on saying the game had lost something without rivals there.

dont go to ibrox celtic, just dont do it.

Celtic should always be in the ‘hunt’ for this cup 👇 no excuses about money££££, etc, if you canny beat the opposition with our skills, then do what José does, park the bus & hit on the break, and nullify the opposition skill set. Four 4 🏆🏆🏆🏆 Euro trophies José, gets hated for all the cheating, diving, etc, that Jose’s teams do, but what if Celtic, park the bus, the MON, NFL, way, even WGS, parked the bus, but he didny have the same cuteness, underdog, essence, as MON, NFL, had in spades. The Willie Maley song has flooded Tim minds with, idealism, and seeking purity football, yeah, that’ll get us into the Euro 3rd division along with Ange ball, that’s if we even qualify??

Nonsense about Sky.Do you really think that anyone notices that no away fans are there..Sky don’t care either. They are getting it for a pittance.

    a pure random for today.

I watched the Arbroath v Hibs game, and quite enjoyed the views from the tv gantry, the antics of the fans, and the old feeling of a real cup tie, If i lived near the town thats the kinda game i would attend.

Is there anti celtic feeling around the town any ?

  20. I concur with the suggestions that we should refuse the pittance of allocation for Ibrox, and, though it won’t happen, explain why por cierto.

  21. The Red Lichties v Hibs brought back great memories of attending there during The Lion’s reign. Though being somewhat of a partaker in beer and the likes then, I made an excuse it was too cold, actually, it was baltic, and left at HT, along with many hundreds of folks as well :)) por cierto.

  22. I would NOT be surprised to see Shaun Maloney leave Hibs and become the manager at Aberdeen at some point ?

im sure Aberdeen is his HOME City…is it not ?

    HH

  23. Why are we dancing to the Huns tune with bringing back the away fans..The Huns started it,no talks with Celtic beforehand, just caving in to their Bigots who had been demanding it for a few seasons.Thats probably the difference,we won’t be demanding the same, fans that is.Just what the attraction is of going to that hellhole surrounded, outnumbered, unheard, listening to their bigoted bile for 90 mins, bewilders me.The Broomloan was a different prospect,a fantastic scene of joy, nothing like a tiny corner. As we all agree, our place was Paradise for the 3-0 game. Why do we want to change. We get nothing out of it financially. We are letting our fans pay £40,000 into their coffers.

We should be demanding our Board tell them to shove it.Raging at this, playing along with every hissy fit they take.

I recall being up there many moons ago, it was summertime, and I might be confused, but my memory is telling me I saw Danny McGrain scoring for us??

Years later Danny was manager up there, Danny McGrain’s bearded army, Arbroath fans wearing beards in tribute to Danny. 👍
