Do as I say, not as I do. Paisley style

514

If the statement by Inverness chairman Kenny Cameron was utterly bizarre, St Mirren’s Stewart Gilmour explains so much about Scottish football.  10 days after Gilmour voted to refuse Sevco a parachute into the top flight of the game, he accused Scottish Football League clubs of doing damage to Scottish football by standing shoulder-to-shoulder with him in refusing to promote Sevco into an unearned higher league.

He told the Paisley Daily Express: “To be fair to Stewart Regan, the document he released last week was a good document.

“It set out changes to Scottish football that would bring in a fairer structure, fairer distribution system, fairer everything.

“Unfortunately, the people in the SFL have not bought into that. I just hope they realise the damage they have done to Scottish football.”

“The damage they have done to Scottish football”!

This guy is hilarious!  ‘Do as I say, not as I do’ has never been more animated.

I cannot believe the statements from certain SPL Chairmen. What the hell where they on about? They have just condemned their clubs to the lower echelons of the Scottish League structure by their statements re the ongoing saga re sevcoscotland. Supporters will ALWAYS have the final say on a clubs survival and I do not fancy either of their chances of seeing this through.

    is that the “nuclear” story?

I can’t confirm if that is it, or part of it. There are several big pieces of the puzzle, in the public domain, waiting to be connected.

It’s the connections that will bring the jail sentences

I genuinely have too many hun mates to enjoy it to the full.

They all know that I loathe and despise their club, and everything that it stands for,but not them as individuals.

I know how it would feel if it happened to MY club(Cheers,Fergus)

Plus they tend to be bigger than me,so an address for a liquidation party would be greatly appreciated…..

Call me an old cynic but this has all the hallmarks of a Media house campaign

SM and ICT coming out with the end of the world is nigh sandwich boards on .

I wonder if these two were part of the inner circle of 5 and charlie green .

What amazes me is these chairmen think that by corrupting sevco into the SPL all will be well in the world again .If they think their clubs are in trouble what the hell state do they think CGs rag tag outfit will be in at the start of the season .

I guessed that ragers would have to suffer the big L to get rid of the gorilla in the room and I no doubt think that Minty and his cohorts will have been confident that their peepil in the right places will have made sure the debt free zombie would have a smooth path laid for the myth to be born .

So far the only spanner in the works has been caused by the only people that matter in football US THE FANS and the peepil do not like it one little bit .

you see ragers have been used to getting what they want in the last twenty years and now the peepil are running about like headless chickens ,maybe the fact that they have always got their way ,is the reason they seem to have been taken by surprise and are now looking so desperate .

Bejaizus, had me worried for a bit there, but I think I’ve figured it out.

Usual story about tangled webs, talking out of turn, etc.

Impossible to keep things under wraps, especially if,as Minty is alleged to have done, you can’t keep quiet about how clever you’ve been.

I haven’t had the chance to monopolise you before,so-thanks for the efforts of your good self and Alex, bud.

Your efforts have been widely appreciated.

  12. Celticeoin, I don’t know about specific players but Celtic will try to balance the books, as always. Whether we get into the CL or not, this will mean there is less money around, unless there is a significant uptake in season ticket sales to offset lost commercial, TV and Rangers-game ticket money.

    Gordon64, you’re very welcome.

  14. fergus slayed the blues on

I don’t know what Gilmour is worried about ,with sevco refused D1 entry the odds on them buying his failing outfit surely increases after all they have already had a sneaky look at the books I believe

I would rather Celtic had to play young bhoys in the first team because they couldnt afford to splash the cash because the newco are in Div3.I want to see an end to there corruption and there corrupt influence and who knows what diamonds we might unearth.H.H.

When the Hun newco film gets made. What type of film do you think it will be. Horror,Drama or comedy.

Would be funny as an Airoplane type film. With Ally shouting “we don’t do walking away” with players winging by on bikes etc.

  18. A gigantic hail hail to the Celtic family out there.

Basically, since their computers were taken away by the cops investigating Redknapp they have been living on borrowed time. The decision by HMRC to liquidate them confirms that former directors, owners and some men in key positions, two in particular, as well as some formerly connected with them, will have some interesting times ahead…

A bit of name dropping today so here mine.

Many years ago, around 1972 my best mate at the time and I decided, as he was a rangers fan and I was celtic that we would start going with each other to watch whichever was playing at home. ( I know, but it seemed like a good idea at 15 years and after you had convinced some stranger to buy you cider from the off sales)

He, was to go on to play for Scotland, be capped by Jock Stein, signed for a million by Brian Clough and become very rich and ruined by drink and his name was IAN WALLACE.

Week one, we go to watch Celtic, celtic win and we watch a fantastic celtic team including the remnants of the lisbon lions along with the rest of the players from the team who were beaten in the second European cup final.

Great day, and both of us agreed as we talked about it all the way home on the train to clydebank.

Week two, off to Ibrox, again Rangers win and also a decent team who went on to win the cup winners cup.

Game over, subway to Partick then got onto train to Drumry(clydebank) Train is heaving, or*nge songs getting belted out, women and children shoppers being terr0rised, me sitting head down not looking at anyone.

Then this big fkr shouts at us, “whit team dae you support” Ian quick as a flash answers Rangers, I hesitate and then sensing danger reply Rangers.

Now, we have managed to draw attention and 4 or 5 gather round us, ” your a couple of fkn f*nian liars” , my heart was racing and Ian says right away, honest Ive always supported Rangers and I go all the time, I again hesitate a few seconds (I was always an indecisive cnt!)

So the big guy leading them off starts screaming at us and now there dozens squeezing in to have a go when the leader says to Ian right cvnt sing the s*sh, Ian lets out about three verses word perfect to which they all join in, followed by applause and pats on the back, next second its right you cvnt sing d*rrys walls.

Now I aint got a clue and I remember my lips moving with nothing coming out and being scared out of my skin, only lasted second though as within moments I recieved 5 or 6 serious hard slaps about the face and head much to the enjoyment of the mob.

Women and children were screaming and crying (well that might have been me!), chants were going up dirty f*nian b*strd, I was getting covered in spittle followed by a slap or punch every few seconds and not one person was stopping it.

Just then the train pulled into Drumchapel and loads of fans were getting off so I made a bolt for the platform and much to my relief got off the train, this quickly turned to horror as a gang of them followed and chased me down the platform and out onto the streets where I managed to eventually escape the peeple.

Needles to say I never went back and thats why last night I laughed my fkn head off, opened a bottle or two of wine and raised a glass to Mr Hutton and the rest of the honest chairmen and directors of the sfl for having the balls to stand up to the bullys and thugs who were rangers.

did your friendship with Ian survive beyond that day?

  24. Hopefully the humilation of RFC and their descent into obscurity will have a positive effect, socially in Scotland.

Perhaps the removal of RFC will result in a change in attitudes as the triumphalist numpty element will no longer have a high-profile figurehead to express their anti-Irish, ant-Catholic, parochial views through.

I think that Rangers played a massive part in legitimising these hateful attitudes and now that the veil is lifted I hope that Scotland will have a better chance at nuturing a new generation without the bigotry and hatred.

As you can probably tell, I am an optimist but their removal is definitely a step towards a better future for the whole country, we’ll have at least 3 years free from toe-curling embarrasment in Europe at facist singing at football grounds, women and kids that wee bit safer, communities freed from mayhem at the weekend etc.

The job is not finished as the link between Secvo and RFC needs to be cut completely and this has to be rammed home. But just maybe things are going to get better.
