Celtic’s run of games at home against low ranking teams continue tomorrow against Hamilton Academical. These matches are always straightforward on paper but it takes lots of energy to subvert any team of professionals. If we get a comparable performance in the opening period to what was on display against Airdrie and St Mirren, Accies will be in for a difficult afternoon.
Assuming Celtic do their job right, we can hope that Aberdeen take something from Kilmarnock at Pittidrie. Killie are currently only a point off the pace, although Celtic have a game in hand, against St Johnstone next midweek.
With his new strikers playing so well, Brendan Rodgers will be in no hurry to rush Odsonne Edouard back. I am also keen to see more of Ewan Henderson.
I once heard “We gave the world Hugh McIlvanney.” He was good enough to be a national boast. He lilov Big Jock too. Sigh.

Jimmynotpaul, good man that you are.
Your pal and his family must have went through a lot of mental torture with the case going on for so long.
I have met Jeanette Findlay twice . She has a great sense of justice along with her love of Celtic.
Obviously, new signings MIGHT improve Celtic overall but , in terms of success, what more do those who decry our efforts in he transfer market believe we could achieve?

Mu `t` key is playing up !!!

Thanks as ever for Brendan`s presser.
Always like to hear his thoughts and how he deals with the loaded questions.
His demeanour was one of quiet contentment and a concentration on forward planning .
Not much to excite the doomsayers there .
Not as if that will stop them.
when she walks
her feet don’t
touch the flair
Brendan is an Incredible Celtic Manager. He was thrown a curve ball with Stevie G – A pupil and he will have known the Hun/Secretive wans would try to derail at any moment they can because they are placed in so many places.
No way to weed secretive wans out – we just need to Roll with it.
Jesus is Lord.

Not having to shoehorn people into positions they are not familiar with should produce a more balanced and cohesive side.
Might make it easier to compete against European dross like AEK Athens where obvious flaws were fully exploited.
Football requires forward thinking and planning so to repeat the lack of preparedness we saw this season would be foolish.
No one is expecting us to spend excessively but we have areas of weakness that could be addressed by using some of our money in the bank.
Never forget that we are All Eternal Beings.
Anyone that pushes Darwin pish – Suspect them. Please for petes sake.
Home School if you can AFFORD it!!!!!
The fa cup is the oldest tournament (1871)
still played for, but there have been three fa cup trophies.
The original Scottish cup has been played for since 1874. So oldest trophy still played for.
Not sure what BBC said, but it could be this difference.
Sam Beam and Jesca Hoop …

Timo Weah is looking sensational.
He was willing to drop really deep to make things happen, always there to get in behind.
Liberia’s Son’s President will Marvel @ Celtic Park when we face the most excellent Valencia.
Cannae wait.
CELTIC CELTIC
Timo has really exceptional movement for the Young ones to really learn from.
petec is excited!!!!!!!

Fan-a-tic
Thanks for the reply but when I said I am not sure what more we could realistically expect to achieve, I meant in terms of trophies or progress in Europe.
Also, having just listened to BR`s Press conference ( Thanks BSR) , I certainly did not take the impression that Brendan was particularly disappointed with our transfer dealings.
Terje Vigen
Thanks for that.

Attack Attack Attack
Let’s do it in Europe.
West Ham are considering whether to trigger Maxi Gomez’s £43.3m release clause at Spanish side Celta Vigo.
west ham – holy moly – 43 mil
Magical
Weah to start tomorrow seemingly
On another matter.
I lived in America for a year and was impressed with the communication skills of American sports people when compared with their UK counterparts. Timothy Weah , as well as looking a fantastic prospect, also deals very well with the media . Admittedly, that opinion is based on only one interview but it was more than just a throw away sentence or two.
JJ
Bada
That is not the impression I took from Brendan`s Press Conference but I hope you are correct.
Instead of whom ? Jamesie? Sinkiy? Oli ? :-))

solskjaer marches on

i’m right there with you man about Darwin.
Newton too. gravity? aye right!
Galileo and Copernicus! the earth goes around the sun? the earth isn’t the centre of the universe! what do they know?
religion always before science and reason.
god bless!
I had to laugh at the West Ham paying 43 million for some player. We have half of that in cash, and someone was going on the other day, about “The vast wealth “we have at our disposal.
We are going to have to wait until the last minute of the window, concerning our RB targets.Nothing else we can do.No use moaning, its not downbto us.Think by Brendans demeanourtoday,he,at least understands the difficulties.
Young Tim O’Weah is articulate and mature far beyond his 18 years.

My guess:
Bain
Lustig Benkoviv Simunovic Izaguirre
Brown
Weah , McGregor, Christie, Sinclair
Burke
Goodnight all.

FFS,think we have a few DUP posters on here tonight.
Yes,man definitely hunted the Dinosaurs to extinction.
History repeating itself.
Used to be a cottage industry of Kremlin watchers.
Now there is cottage industry of Brendan watchers.
He talks a lot but says very little of real merit.
After watching today’s press conference he should have worn a top hat and carried a whip.
It wasn’t club PR it was lion taming — though truth be told they a bit toothless.
Still hoping for a lot of movement over the next week.
Huge gaps to fill in the squad and move on the Deadwood.
Interesting stuff on football finances today with the Deloitte report.
We need to get our finger out and get working on our global profile.
No harm to Everton but we only have 60% of their social media profile.
I fear too much or our efforts as a support are a bit self indulgent.
As the organised groups up their “republican” credentials the 26 counties move further away. More royal than the queen is not a great place to be in the modern world.
Top gun of the outsiders — from memory — outside the big 5 leagues is Besiktas.
Their T/O is €165mill.
We are currently on €115mill.
Lots to do to close the gap.
Spending money on the CEO’s bonus is not going to help.
Need new thinking at the top.
HOT SMOKED.,
Why would we play 4 at the back at home to Hamilton.Waste of a player to me.Makes it too easy to play the ball across the back.I said this on Wednesday. The first 10 mins,we had one cross in.Could play the 3,and give Biton game time alongside Broony.Cant understand this.
MADMITCH,,
Besiktas play in a country of 90 million people.
You really are obssessed with PLs wages.Could be a lot of folk out there think youare getting paid too much.If someone in the street asked what you were getting paid, you would rightly tell them to eff off.PLs wages are eff all to do with you.His.employers think he is worth it.End off.
God bless Peter Lawwell keeping the green flag flying despite the malcontents begrudgers and naysayers
Double his Bonus please !!
