Doncaster beats No Surrender Longmuir

948

The appointment of Neil Doncaster as chief executive of the newly formed Scottish Professional (sic) Football League was a forgone conclusion, No Surrender Longmuir was interviewed out of professional courtesy, and the clubs realised that the calibre of external candidates they would attract at the moment would be from the bottom of the corporate pile.  Frankly, a heavy hitter would not apply.

Now that Doncaster is freed from his previous preoccupation – trying to parachute a new club into top flight football – he can worry about his key performance indicators, bringing commercial income into the league.  If he can’t deliver a good deal, or scams a ‘Homecoming’-type deal, by pulling money already committed by a benefactor, like his pal along the corridor, we’re better off without him.

My thanks to Billy No’well for inviting me onto his podcast show, Desert Island Tims, available here.  I had great fun choosing material for the show and even more fun talking about Celtic, and life, with Billy.

    Gazza .

Italian radio station reporting that Gazza has been lifted and charged for being drunk and disorderly and assaulting his ex wife at a train station on the periphery of London.

IMO,the GIRUY TIMMY factor has been on the rise recently through these marches.

All the more reason to curtail them.

    Gazza .

I remember seeing an interview with the Lazio Manager who signed Gazza .

He said that Lazio had been given intelligence that Gazza was fond of the bevvy . He said that the information hadn’t put Lazio off because they had simply assumed that Gazza , being British , simply drank more than a footballer should , and Lazio would easily stop him. Mmmmmmm

Had they seen him in The Bluebell in Gateshead wi his friends and family they may have thought differently.

Around 3pm on a Friday, blootered like the rest of his group.

Eighteen yo,world at his feet, and all the bad advice in the world yet to come.

I know Smith exploited, rather than helped him,but so did Venables.

And the only manager to try to prevent him being destroyed,Graham Taylor,got-ironically-hammered!

I would say ” texted”. “Text” is a noun and the verb from “text” is such a new aspect of language that nothing has yet been authorised but “texted” looks like becoming the accepted norm therfore correct.

    Indeed ! .

I know people who shared a Bridge of Weir street with Gazza .

They regularly opined that Gazza clearly had a problem and that there was no shortage of people in the area willing to make a quick buck from fueling Gazza’s problem..

Finally off oot —-I’ve been ready for a while but when a woman can’t possibly wear the same bikini as yesterday , things take time .

  19. I queued outside Solitude from 11.00. With just 10 people in front of me the chairman of Cliftonville appears to tell us that the tickets have sold out.

They have applied for permission to erect temporary seating. We were given a ticket which will enable us to have priority to purchase – if permission is granted. if not then it was a waste of 2.5 hours.

  22. My bhoy was about to leave to meet his mates at toryglen for a sidey…game of football…he had his new celtic strip on and looked good.

Sadly, I told him to change into something more neutral …ie…not today son the scum are out in numbers best not to attract attention from thems.

I went upstairs and checked… no strip!!!

  23. Houl yer Wheest, I hope you get one, was surprised in terms of people wanting to see the match that it wasn’t moved to Windsor Park. Not ideal but in terms of fans enjoying it & the club making much more money 3,000 as opposed to 13,000. Brave decision but imo they had a chance to make great money allow more people from all over to enjoy it and ensure that Cliftonville’s challenge was every year rather than a flash in the plan as at present! just saying….
