MAIK NAWROCKI has joined Bundesliga 2 club Hannover 96 on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
The switch of the central defender, a £4.3million purchase from Legia Warsaw in the summer of 2023, to the second-tier club is a “done deal”, according to Sky Sports Germany.
Nawrocki, who has made only 20 first-team appearances since his arrival, will welcome the opportunity of regular game-time.

CRUNCH…Maik Nawrocki challenges Aberdeen winger Pape Gueye in Celtic’s 5-1 win at Pittodrie in May.
The German-born 24-year-old centre-back has seen his career stall in Scotland and was also linked with Polish outfit Pogon Szczecin, but Hannover 96 have won the race for a player who still has three years to run on his Hoops contract.
Nawrocki is poised to follow Gus Lagerbielke out of the champions. Ironically, the Swedish centre-back arrived around the same time when he signed from Elfsborg and it now looks as though he is on his way to Portuguese outfit SC Braga in a £2million switch.
There are still question marks over the future of Stephen Welsh who spent the second half of the season on loan at Belgian club Mechelen.
