DONS FOUR ADRIFT

ABERDEEN moved to within four points of Celtic at the top of the Premiership after a comfortable 3-0 win over hapless Hamilton Accies at Pittodrie this afternoon.

The Dons were never stretched as they attempted to make up ground on a Hoops team going for their fifth successive SPFL crown.

Derek McInnes’ team were three goals ahead by the 33rd minute with efforts from Simon Church, Niall McGinn and Kenny McLean in a one-sided confrontation. They failed to add to their tally during a Sunday saunter after the interval. They now face a more exacting game against Hearts at Tynecastle on Friday.

Ronny Deila’s side, of course, have a game in hand and can extend their advantage to seven points again when they meet Dundee at Dens Park on Tuesday night.

Ex-Celt Paul Hartley’s Tayside outfit warmed up for the confrontation with a 5-2 triumph over Ross County yesterday.
