‘DONS GAME MEANS EVERYTHING,’ IZZY

EMILIO IZAGUIRRE is determined for Celtic to become ton-up Bhoys and overcome the agony of the European exit against Barcelona last night.

The Honduran defender was involved in the Spaniards’ second goal when he was penalised for a challenge on crafty Luis Suarez who was holding onto the left-back.

Lionel Messi popped the spot-kick award behind Craig Gordon to add to his first-half effort and it was curtains for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

However, they have the opportunity of picking up the club’s 100th trophy when they face Aberdeen in the Betfred League Cup Final on Sunday.

Izzy said: “Barcelona are the best team in the world. It’s as simple as that. We tried our best, but it was so difficult to play against them.

“But now we focus on the Cup Final. That now means everything. The most important thing is the future, not the past.

“We have to put this game behind us. Sunday is a huge match for all of us and I am looking to win another medal for Celtic.

“This club is all about winning titles and this is a fantastic chance to do it again in front of our supporters.

“We need to win this Final. We are disappointed to lose at Celtic Park, but we can make it up for it soon.

“We will wake up on Thursday and think about the Aberdeen game.”
