Don’t bet, tardy payers and immersed in our culture

1179

Quick question for you.  Which Scottish team has won their last four home games, scoring 13 goals in the process?  St Mirren are on a run of form at home.  One of those wins was against Second Division opposition, but remember, this season, Second Division teams are on a par with AC Milan in the early 90s.

Ross County scored four at St Mirren Park but St Mirren scored five, while Hearts were despatched 2-0.  This is a team with good home form who kept their squad in place over the international break.  My best advice to you is to avoid betting on this one.

Many clubs have trouble paying their bills but the problem with Hearts and their regular tardiness when it comes to wages, evident again this month, appears to be different.  Hearts cash balances will have peaked weeks, possibly months, ago.  From now on they will be eating into ‘reserves’, or more likely, accruing additional debt at their owner’s bank.  The club have been here many times before and Vlad has dipped into the equivalent of his commercial pocket to avoid an insolvency event but I’ve always found it curious why he didn’t do so on time.  It’s not as though anyone can be surprised pay day is coming.

As such, there appears to be a degree of control over late payment.  The money is always provided but not before pain is passed down from owner to earners, which is a bit curious.

For all his faults, and they are many, Romanov and other shareholders in Ukio Bankas have ‘invested’ countless millions in Hearts, money they are unlikely to get back with the residential property market so depressed.  They have also not exposed the club to outrageous fortune – the overwhelming majority of debt is owed to the bank itself, balances at HMRC and other creditors are low, and they pay their football debts.  This means that if Hearts go into administration, the route back through a CVA would be clear.  The only serious losers would be staff made redundant, while Ukio would face a write-off, perhaps already acknowledged internally.

I was surprised at the news Danny McGrain was appointed first team coach yesterday but also delighted.  Danny’s was not a name mentioned for the position when Alan Thompson left the club but he is immersed in the fabric and culture of our club.  ‘In the days of changing ways’ a strong thread of continuity is an invaluable asset in ensuring the new generations acquire the important elements of our identity.

We are a club in touch with all that is important.

I am a frequent visitor to the David Icke site.

The articles within it range from the ridiculous to the sublime.

It is crazy in so many, many ways. Bonkers even. Take a big bag of salt when you go there.

    However.

There has been in the last six or seven years a lot of (it would have appeared at the time) ill informed and scurrillous articles on that site relating to the sexual activities of Jimmy Saville.

Everything David Icke’s website has been saying – to an unattentive general public – regarding Saville has become publicly accepted as fact within the last two weeks.

Well not everything, if some of the horrors attributed to Saville on that site turn out to be true, then everything in the public domain so far is the tip of the iceberg.

@jimbauld I can confirm that this is true. FTT decision is in the hands of MIH/D&P and HMRC.

BRAZEN former Rangers owner Craig Whyte hopes to rake in MILLIONS from the crisis club’s liquidation.

The tycoon wants a massive payout from what’s left of the oldco Ibrox side, which collapsed in February owing up to £134million.

And he is determined to claw back cash from a security he claims he holds over the club’s assets — sold to new chief exec Charles Green for £5.5million.

  5. Listening to Phil on Clyde all that time ago and he nailed the exact month of the FTTT result. Now that is quality journalism the charlatans at BBC Scotland, Clyde and STV could have produced if they had any professional integrity and journalistic ability. Sadly hardly an ounce of either, Mark Daly excepted I think.

It’s a long shot. We’ve not settled on dates yet, but are going to be in either Cusco or Aguacalientes, Peru for the first Barca game. Does anyone know of any Celtic-Inca hotspots where I might see the game?

  9. Been traipsing around inside the internet and the most current news re. tomorrow’s demo is in The Horsham Times(!) and The Socialist Worker.

There will be thousands in London tomorrow givin’ it to the ConDems and the msm are just being petty in not saying anything until it all blows up.

Anyway… I was watching that Sheff.Utd. V Leeds match earlier when Kirkland was attacked.

Warnock is a prize twat…..applauding the fans at the end. It was a proper slap the goalie took…..shocked to bits he was.

    So…..Lennon v. Lennon tomorrow.

I couldn’t care less any more about the ftt…..meaningless, when they are still strutting around like the fascists they are. Hermit crabbed into their new moron state, and still gathering like a disease at iPox. They haunt football like a living nightmare.

  13. Moravcik67 on kerrydalestreet.co.uk revealed that the Rangers Tax Case verdict has been delivered.

RangersTaxCase, via his Twitter offerings, confirmed this was indeed the case.

As for the verdict, Moravcik67 said only: “THEY LOST.”

Depending on the level of detail given in the Tribunal report, the SPL and SFA may find it impossible to avoid stripping titles from Rangers and handing down lifetime bans to those deemed guilty of deliberately breaking Player Registration rules for a decade.

  14. The Alternative Armageddon

I was having a wee look at the SPL attendance figures for this season and decided to compare these to last season’s figures. This is what I found…

If we look at the average attendance at home SPL games for each team and exclude all games involving Celtic and/or Rangers, then there are only TWO teams who have seen a decline in this season’s attendances compared to last season. They are Hearts (down from 12,958 to 12,207) and Motherwell (from 4,975 to 4,360). All the other teams have seen an increase in their attendances, with even those at Ross County’s games exceeding the average attendance last season at Dunfermline.

Compared to last season Aberdeen, Dundee, Dundee Utd and St Johnstone have seen average home gates increase by more than 23%, with Hibs, Inverness & Kilmarnock also seeing attendances increase by 10% or more. Ross County (compared against last season’s figure for Dunfermline) and St Mirren have seen marginal increases.

If we include the games against Celtic and Rangers, which will obviously be the biggest gates for all of the other clubs, we have 6 clubs with increased average attendances and 6 clubs with decreased average attendances (comparing each of Dundee and Ross County against Dunfermline’s last season average). Ranked by the change since last season we have:

    St Johnstone +18.7% **

    Dundee Utd +14.6%

    Dundee +13.5%

    Aberdeen +12.1%

    Inverness CT +12.1% **

    Hibernian +5.6%

    Ross County -0.8% **

    Motherwell -0.9% **

    Kilmarnock -4.5%

    St Mirren -4.5%

    Hearts -8.8%

    Celtic -9.8%

Only those teams marked ** have thus far had the benefit of a home game against Celtic this season, so the figures for the other teams will obviously be boosted once they have hosted the champions. Indeed, if they achieve in those games (against Celtic) the average of last season’s respective home gates against Celtic, both Kilmarnock and St Mirren will move into positive territory (comparing against last season), leaving just three teams (other than Celtic) with a decline, and of those only Hearts have a decline of more than 1% since last season.

It’s not quite as bad as some would have us believe.

Formal release will be within 1-2 weeks at most. Expect leaks & spin before then.

  20. If Hector has won then I see no possible way the SFA and SPL could ignore such a decision. It will be official in the eyes of the world, Rangers (RIP) cheated, end of story. Title stripping should be the very least they should do.

First thing to happen in that eventuality should be the resignation or sacking of Campbell ‘EBT’ Ogilvie. A continuing embarrassment that he’s still somehow in office. Then titles stripped.

Somehow I think Charles Green might be offski this time next month…

  21. Does this mean we see the back end of Chunky as he scarpers homeward to Yorks? Does this mean the humbling, the chastening, the virtual public flogging of Fat Sally ? Does this mean Murray gets wheeled into The Bar-L Hotel ? Does this mean Campbell Ogilvie runs ? Does this mean Craigy becomes a bona fide hero as he flogs iPox to the builders ?

    If not…why not ?

These are the kinds of things that matter. Justice. For all the indecent garbage and insults of every variety we and many others have had to suffer because of that filthy orange mob and their abusive protectors such as the grossly offensive and corpulently disgusting Jabba.
