Don’t mention the (boardroom) war

With financial projections which provide entertaining reading, Rangers International promoted director, Walter Smith, to the position of chairman.  Smith immediately proclaimed, “Unity among the directors is vital”, although he was not asked about the forthcoming EGM where fellow directors Malcolm Murray and Chris Morgan face dismissal, while a third director, Charles Green, suggested he was going to resign by today, but has not got around to filling out the form yet (does this guy have ‘form’ when it comes to filling Companies House forms?)…..

They don’t do unity very well.

The only show in town is season ticket sales; for all clubs.  Maybe Celtic should appoint Martin O’Neill to the board for a few weeks to allow the newspapers to provide some bluster for those who more convinced by headlines and sound-bites than strategy?  Perhaps not.  Let’s stick to plan.

Lisbon Lion in Ayrshire, send reinforcements!

Willie Wallace will be at Waterstons in Ayr from 1-3pm this afternoon, get along (with camera) if you can.

Tomorrow Willie will be at the Celtic Superstore from 12-2pm before going to the Celtic Shop, Clydebank, from 3.30-5.30pm.  Get out and meet the man.

Great to meet so many people at Waterstons, Stirling, last night. The store sold out of Willie’s autobiography. There was actually a queue of people waiting to enter the store at one point.

Just a few days left on the auction for the signed Messi strip, a magnificent piece of football memorabilia. Keep an eye on it here.

Order your copy of Heart of a Lion, delivered before Father’s Day, below…..

Paul67 clearly stated that we had nothing to do with the 5 way agreement.

    How ?

By being out voted, out manouvered or willingly blind, death and dumb towards it ?

Some cynics might suggest that WE might not want it published. Mmmmmmh

Either way you look at it the 5 way agreement has our name on it through SPL and SFA particpation.

Further lack of comment at this juncture sullies our name.

Any further mute acceptance from our plc and you will not get a bet on Sevco winning the SPL in 2016 with CO presenting the trophy

  3. Wattie at the helm now, the spivs will eat him up for breakfast, how can he be a chairman? you need certain skills for that job, seems to me he will puppet his way through this with his pal Malkie (the alkie) letting him know the moves, when all is said and done it sells tickets and that is what it is all about the” I have never backed down from any thing in my life” statement is just another no surrender we are the people vomit for the knuckle dragging gung ho trumpets that follow them to buy season tickets, and buy them they will, why? well they feckin daft thats why.

‘With my wife it is gardens’……………….

As a long suffering orchid widower, I know, I know, really! V is up at 05:30 every morning watering the garden with Broony (the dog) in tow. He even knows the routine………

Each Sunday a.m. post watering, God’s gift to me is at the produce market but always, always returns with ceramic pots, plants and flowers for the Our Lady of Lourdes grotto in the front garden…………..

Long for the days when we lived in an apartment (in Dubai)……..Mind you, the balconies still managed to resemble the Botanic Gardens……..

Thought I was the only one!!!

    Could be worse eh!

    Regards & Hail Hail

My thinking is Celtic must have enough prime facie evidence on SFA skullduggery to present to UEFA to demand an enquiry.

But we all know what happens when we tackle that lot on a prime facie basis. We need a tape or e mail that Charlotte may provide but are limited til then.

So I reckon that until we get another Dougie Dougie moment the deal is Celtic do not sink the upturned lifeboat on which Scottish football is clinging for life and help paddle it ashore then we try to get offski with a push, cheerio and thanks for the fish rather than be pulled back.

An interesting development and a debate well worth having has been the occasional mention on CQN of Celtic not having a vision behind which supporters can align themselves.

Well apparently we do have a vision and that is ” to be a world class club”.

How many folk knew that? Where is it writ large? But even more important how is that goal, that vision to be achieved?

What can each of us as individuals or groups contribute to achieving that goal?

Can we put our own subjective views aside in order to do what each of us can to make that goal happen and by us I mean the custodians as well as supporters and groups on line or on the ground.

Creating a vision statement is the easy bit. Making it happen takes a structure via which issues can be explored and that bit of capacity building is only getting underway but things are on the move.

Celtic see the support as more than the cash providers that put a team on the park. They see them as a vast resource of experience and competence that could be harnessed to work towards the vision ( well actually I do but have been making the point on very receptive ears).

A couple of new posts under recruitment will go a long way to creating the structure and mechanisms for inter action. We really need not concern ourselves too much about Rangers ( although SFA reform has to happen ) because the Celtic support is an incredibly rich in talent terms, resilient and resourceful field waiting to be harvested.

Ok, I’m not the brightest around here, I’m eternally grateful of that but I don’t see Celtic doing much wrong since Fergus.

I consider myself to be a real Protestant Catholic, you want them nailed and publicly destroyed, your prerogative, I think Celtic are doing very well and are very Patient in how they are dismantling them and the whole systems that have supported them.

The irony being that Celtic will exit Scottish Football when the, the, the are finally destroyed, IMO.

I want a level playing field and transparency. This PLC dont. If only their interest was as vested as Fergus’s.

Fergus knew we needed billionaires on board.

We dont need them anymore. If they are not interested or up for the fight then if they are honourable decent men. Like Fergus they should take their cut and move on.

Whilst RFIC has given itself a clean bill of health, a reminder as to the scope of the inquiry might help. Tom Stocker said to me, I would ask you to note that remit of the investigation that I am conducting is to investigate the role of Mr Whyte in relation to Sevco 5088 Limited and Sevco Scotland Limited, and any involvement with Rangers post 14 February 2012. Paul, you’re wrong, all is well with Sevco, Leggo tells us today, I guess he wrote this while listening to the stirring strains of Rule Brittania while memories of the infamous Hugie Green, flag waving, jingoistic televised speech brough a tear to his eye:

Reading that linked article gave me a pain in the head ! No wonder Rangers and now The Rangers have been run so badly if that guy is the ‘Paul Brennan’ of their support.
