Double time for Celtic

780

It is nonsense to talk about Hampden Hoodoos, Celtic’s five defeats there since Neil Lennon became manager have been a result of poor performances, not superstition (fighting the urge to mention two last minute penalty decisions).  Celtic were unquestionably the stronger team on four of those five occasions, arguably all five, but they have been tactically out-thought at the national stadium time after time.

We are vastly stronger than Dundee United but once the whistle goes tomorrow, unless we can match them for hunger, arrest the defensive lapses which have blighted us all season, and find the key to breakdown what will be a tight defence, there is no reason to believe the outcome will be any different than when we faced a weaker St Mirren.

Shortly before that St Mirren defeat I said we were not playing consistently to win the treble we were short odds for.  Consistency hasn’t improved much since, which is why you are hearing talk coming out of Lennoxtown about this being the biggest game of the season.

It’s double time….

  1. Apologies for my last post which rambled on a bit. But I am fed up with this shower, the SFA and most of the Scottish media. Gutless, hypocritical no marks every last one of them

miki67 – hope you are well mate. Always read your posts and usually with a smile on my face.

    Keep up the good work.

  3. At work today listening to the Hibees getting hammered but thinking it’s only 30 mins in and if they get one back when the bold Keevins barks in with – (I paraphrase here) Rod Petrie has nowhere to go, HIbs really are in dire straits/no man’s land etc etc etc. The fans must be wondering what they’ve got in Pat Fenlon etc etc etc. Ross County was getting mentioned as an antidote.

And I’m thinking – Hugo, your schtick is just plain ole sensationalism. Tub thumping stupidity.

I hope you’re reading this you mug.

You’ve came a long way from arguing Irish bragging rights with George Galloway on TV.

Enjoy that niggling sense of selling yourself short… It’s your legacy.

  4. Graham agrees there is a BBC anti Rangers agenda…wooof

Speirs and Graham going head to head again about are they a new club

Now English makes the same point as last week they are the same club and he has no axe to grind with Sevco fans

FFs its like a Sportsound extra rewind from last week

  5. What sort of sport punishes a 14 year old rookie by 1 stroke for playing at the same pace as everyone else.

While a multi major winner can admit to cheating on live tv and get a 2 stroke penalty?

Money, sponsorship, TV, endorsements will eventually kill all competitive sports.

  6. EDB

I remember the great one giving him dokey for that

A great game and a wonderful day out

Finished up after the game in Failte in Glasgow….bouncing !,,

  7. As this so called Independent Comission will report its findings to the Rangers directors it is nothing fancier than an

    Internal Inquiry.

And the act of calling it an Independent Comission disguises the reality of what it truely is.

Haven’t spoken for ages. Hope you are keeping well. You are a star, but your posts are mellowing ever so slightly. :)))

    Sums up Keevins well

Despise the man ..utter cretin with a significantly over inflated view of his own ability

  10. If they are the same club will they get extra punishment for having Craigie Bhoy as a director??

  11. Three Lords are being drafted in to make up the commission…..Snooty, Lucan and Charles.

You and I have agreed on too many things this weekend:o)

Thought Maloney for a brief spell had a good relationship with Naka but other than his screamer against Klos he never reached the level he was touted for.

And let’s not discuss his time in the treatment room.

  13. The huns don’t wash their dirty linen in public…why now?

Whyte has threatened to open a bigger can of worms than even we could believe.

It’s about the protection of sdm now…the scarlet pimpernel of late.

  14. Can someone explain to me how the NEW club investigating themselves stops the SFA from punishing them for breaking assurances they gave that CW was not part of Sevco 5088.

  15. the long wait is over on

This independent investigation announced today is the most shameless and obvious attempt to create a smokescreen/ diversion as you’ll see in a long time.

  16. Stairheedrammy on

So the tribute act are to investigate themselves- another whitewash where the conflicted organisation sets the parameters for the “independent” investigation. Why do we put up with this ongoing cheating

  17. A bit of help required lhads.

I am putting something together, along with Moonbeams, for the next CQN magazine.

It will be about the FAC demo, the events on the blog leading up to it.

If you were there and have an anecdote to share, could post it.

At the demo someone said, in perfect Python, “Down with that sort of thing”

I intend to use the line, it was priceless. If you said it, or know who did could you let me know.

    Thanks.

I hear an independent enquiry is to be set up by Sevco to investigate Sevco, second bit of Python in this post then.

I’ll pick up replies as they come in, thanks in advance.

  18. The only thing Keevins said worth a mention was that Sevco are setting up an inquiry into the dealings of their own CE

I must admit when I stand back and think about that I would never in my wildest dreams ever thought that corrupt cabal would ever investigate anything about themselves

In a way its progress even if they are forced kicking and scratching to do it

  19. Strange how Green and his “paki friend” are not suspended while this investigation takes place.

Sandaza and Murray were both suspended while investigations took place.

  20. FourGreenFields

I agree it should not stop the SFA but I expect Sevco will argue that while an internal investigation is going they cant supply all the facts to the SFA

So the SFA inquiry gets stalled

Ball in Sevco court while they manipulate an escape route

  21. jimbo67

Surely the other clubs and supporters are going to demand action . If proved that they lied about CW involvement so they could get a licence then that licence should be withdrawn.

I know this is Scotland and rules are there to be bent ( for them ) but there must come a time when people say enough is enough and demand justice .

  22. I would like to ask the respected members of this “site” to nominate “3” three respected members to investigate an allegation from the accuser “Mrs DJBEE” as to whether the consumption of “Rioja” over the period from “01/01/12012 to “13/04/2013” has been “excessive” and detrimental to their “relationship”.

  23. There will be no independent enquiry, they are buying time for Campbell to find a way out for them as he did with the guilty of incorrect registration of players.

  24. thindimebhoy

I am sick to the back teeth of this con trick being perpetrated on the honest football supporters and clubs in this country .

Something needs to be done , surely the SFA must be forced to act .

  25. Guys this isn’t worth discussing.

Cheating is what they do. Let them get on with their charade.

  26. DJBee, I volunteer to the a member, respected is pushing it though.

I have a good deal of experience in the consumption of too much Rioja.

I would say no amount of consumption could be considered excessive as it happened in the past and no sporting advantage was gained.

The “relationship” could not have been affected detrimentally, due to the simple fact you felt too good for anything to be considered detrimental.

    I hope this nonsense helps.

Absolutely, but it’s only the MSM who are mentioning the SFA in conjunction with this ….. The SFA will have to investigate green and Whyte independently of sevco’s internal investigation, and duly revoke their conditional license, or not award them a full license for next season ….. The SFA have the reputation of all Scottish Clubs to protect ……… those barstewards have trashed Scottish Football enough…. Get them tae………and allow us to get on with the sport of football…

  28. Purely out of curiosity, who’s the best oldco player people have seen ? I can’t think of anybody special from recent times (apart from Nancy Novo of course). From ebt /we’ll spend a tenner for every 5 pound Celtic responsibly invest era – hmm amoruso naw, albertz naw. Back to gazza / laudrop/sally. I never saw a Glasgow derby and can’t remember Gascoigne being out of this world. laudrop was a good player as was sally.

I’m trying to judge what all their recent shenanigans got them. Did it get them the best team they’ve ever had ?
