Dundee dreadful gameplan against minnows

275

The bottom half of the league table gives an early feel of who is likely to compete against relegation this season.  Newco have moved two points clear of the relegation playoff spot and are surely likely to consolidate their midtable position.  Aberdeen are bottom, with five defeats in seven games, but a 4-0 routing of Dundee last time out saw their first win of the league campaign.  Expect them to climb up the table.

That leaves Livingston, Falkirk and Dundee all on six points and likely relegation candidates.  The latter will do well to take a point against Celtic on Sunday.

Steven Pressley was out of management for six years before getting the Dens Park job in the summer.  League Cup defeats to Airdrie and Alloa in his first two games, which saw Dundee eliminated from the competition, put the pressure on, before a draw at Ibrox delivered their first point of the Premiership season.

A 97th minute penalty at home to Livingston produced their only win of the campaign so far.  Even then, Livi enjoyed the majority of possession and the home side putting men behind the ball and relying on counter attacks.  That’s quite a gameplan at home to a newly promoted minnow.

Brendan Rodgers will know to expect the same defensive approach on Sunday and will hope the 3-2 win over Motherwell last time out has greased the blunt attacking wheels enough to cope against a side short on just about everything.

Whose Board members they are attacking personally and demonising

And whose staff are being targetted by a misplaced bhoycott with an even more ill thought out campaign slogan

  2. King Charles and Pope Leo will pray together in the Sistine Chapel next week

First time a British monarch and pontiff have done so publicly since Reformation

King also to be given own special chair bearing his coat of arms in a papal basilica

Wonder what that section who sing “No Pope in Rome” will be thinking tonight ?

  3. The Celtic Collective went to war with the board, AFTER, the fans had given the board all of the season ticket money.

TCC have no weapons against PLC sharks who are only interested in your money.

If the TCC had went to war with the board whilst a season ticket was still to be purchased then that might have turned out differently.

    BUT.

None of this would have happened if Rodgers hadn’t flopped against Kiarat Almaty, and then blamed it on a poor Transfer Window.

Fans wouldn’t be protesting against the PLC if it was Neil Lennon who flopped vs KA, as they would have demanded the sacking of Neil Lennon.

    BUT.

TCC have not asked for the sacking of Rodgers after he flopped vs KA.

    WHY?

Because TCC are a representation of the mainstream Celtic supporter base were duplicitous is the main identifier of them.

So the board know that they are dealing with waffle merchants.

TCC make the PLC seem to be the enlightened ones in this stand off.

A smart, astute, integrity based supporter base would LONG AGO have boycotted the PLC out of the door.

But we don’t have a smart, or astute, or itegrity based fan base.

When the GB get banned 50,000+ say NOTHING.

    BUT.

Poor wee Rodgers needs a deflection after HIS KA disaster, so he gets his wee chinese whispering violin out, and 53,000 fans are on their knees bawling their eys oot?????

This is similar to the “mass psychosis” mind games tricks played by the government on the citizens during the Covid Plandemic Scam, standing on the street every Thrusday night banging pots and pans for the EMPTY HOSPITALS as Nurses danced up and down the EMPTY HOSPITALS, making tiktok videos!!!

The master[Rodgers] snapped his fingers and 53,000 Tims are on their knees blaming the board as the ENTIRE TW from last season sat on the bench whilst Rodgers cost the club 40 Million CL money.

But when Rodgers moans about a bad TW all hell breaks loose.

When Neil Lennon came back as manager after Rodgers walked out and got Leicester relegated, he told the fans that they were spoiled.

    And he was correct.

    BUT.

What he should have said was that if he had been in a MON team vs a Rangers team full of 4th division players, like Rodgers-1 was up against, then they would have won EVERY trophy in Scotland and it might have helped with European demands as well.

Now fans are at the stage were they celebrated wildly as Jota scored a worldy freekick away to Real Madrid as we trailed 0-5.

Fans need to be wakened up by straight talking leaders, but MON, and Neil Lennon are the only 2 who will do that.

MON tipped us off about “THE SLOW LANE” and that alone should have led to a season ticket boycott, but didn’t.

The Slow Lane means pishy project players, which means directors engaged in racketeering.

Fergus McCann tried to bully Wim Jansen into buying pishy project players, WHILST WE WERE TRYING TO STOP A HUN 10 IN A ROW!!!!

    Wee hero my erchie!!!

How does one explain, Celtic’s financial expertise in the boardroom, which Hugh Adams refered to, continually buying pishy project players if these directors are such, finanacial experts? Why not just buy one good player instead of 5 or 6 pishy players?

Who is on the make from this raketeering?

Did TCC ask the board about it?

The Celtic Collective are wasting your time.

Probably run by planted sleekits like, David Low.

If so, then you are all being had.

Yes they are calling out the board as they see it, many thousands are not happy with the board

You on this platform are equally as a board supporter calling out the collective and attacking (your phraseology) them, you are entitled to defend the board as you see fit its your call

The measures they have announced today I support and many others do

complain about no subs till the 60th minute,

bereate anyone who misses a chance

    get annoyed about gavins laptop

tell donovan he wont make it

tell kt he shouldnt have come back

    sack the board.

  7. Tim Malone Will Tell @ 3:07 pm,

That’s a legitimate question but it’s not the point, the point is that the football club were striving to be ready for the qualifiers.*

The Board on the other hand were running a player transfer revenue stream in total disregard of the football teams preparations and requirements, that’s where the main issue lay.

*Now to get to the point of whether we should have had enough to beat Almaty anyway – yes, all things being equal, we should have had enough to win.

Losing Kyogo, Jota, Kuhn, Taylor, Johnstone – with Yang’s, Idah’s and Meada’s head turned by transfer speculation meant that the core of the team were decimated and with new signings either not match fit yet or not integrated into the team, we were always taking a risk, an unnecessary and costly risk as it happened.

  12. I am one who thinks that European football should be our benchmark.

Success is optimising our resources and our performance on the park.

Success is demonstrating that we belong.

European football, no matter the competition refreshes the parts that domestic football cannot.reach.

The board need to play their part too. Outrageous pricing is self defeating and detrimental to our aspiration. They have been forced into applying concessions for our next home game. Good but not far enough.

Pensioners have no means to up their income in a cost of living crisis

Kids have no income and are dependent on hard pressed parents.

As for domestic football. We can buy better players than our opposition and we pay top dollar in remuneration for Scottish football.

If we give 100% effort in every game we should win prizes.

However we should have fans desperate to see us. We should play the type of football that has fans drooling.

We want supporters craving to watch Celtic.

Imo, what we don’t want is supporters to not watch our games, see the result after the game and state :- 3 points is the only thing that matters.

    It’s not.

    Questions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, … about the Collective.

    Tim For Life

The point is that last season’s CL campaign was lauded as some great achievement – yet the margin between relative “success” (qualification for play off) and “failure” (bottom 8 in the league table) really is wafer thin and came down to that late OG against Young Boys.

My question was how progress in Europe can be defined rather than just some glib statement.

Greenpinata provided a definitive answer in that he wanted Celtic to be competitive in whatever European competition we find ourselves in.

I suspect that for many others, failure to win the league or get through the CL qualifiers will mean that some heads need to roll.

  21. cathcing up with todays podcasts, I am finding the Lindsell Train in concert or a proxy for Desmond as being a particularly stupid assumption.

LT selss 0.69% for approx £1.3m (i think) , but still retain 15.6%

alongide sire DD who wons 34.7%, so if these two agree, a nod and a wink, they still have 50.3% and a controlling interest,

people saying this while ignoring that every other shareholder with a shareholding 3% to 12% (Trainer, Allison, also vote in favour of every motion on every agm.

The 205 of the small shareholders not acting together is the problem.

btw, proving shareholders are illegaly acting in concert, good luck with that without paper or digital evidence.

I made same point direct to John Paul Taylor a few years back. Asked that he and others be seen on matchday interacting with the supporters and also being inside the stadium to ‘sample’ the matchday experience. He said he was out and about……. I’ve yet to see him or anyone in a senior position doing that, so assume that’s another example of the folks running our club sitting in their ivory towers.

  24. one other comment,

the real puzzler still do be found out is who bought the LT shares ?

if it was existing shareholders, on the significant shareholding lsit, then nothing has changed, they just shuffked the deck.

If however somehow David Lows group bought them, that would be favourable, those two guys kep mentioning they would get to 1% quickly.

    lets see,

just to piss me off more about actual operations, why no agm date yet ? and why no annual report ?

  25. The 20% of the small shareholders not acting together is the problem.
