  1. The E-Tims rant this morning makes for interesting reading.

If we spend / spend / spend then we are going to sell big — KA vs OE with an undercard of RC vs KD(21).

We now we can seemingly add CMcG vs JF or possibly even both on the way out for reasonable money.

I suppose the horrible thing about all this is the realisation that the more we buy the more we sell — so if the players come in then players are going to be sold.

I can cope if the quality of the squad improves.

Usually this would define us as having a growth agenda where we are a buying club.

Or we might get lucky with the player trading and buy good and sell big.

Or we sell our best players and replace them with inferior players.

I seem to remember NL’s first time in the job and it didn’t end well.

Any chance we could sell PL instead — it would be so much simpler.

Huge “wage” off the books and a chance for others to grow into his shoes.

    Win / win situation.

  2. Blah blah blah .. Cluj debacle blah blah

We flung it away “that” night scoring 3 goals at home and switching off … we then topped our Europa league table ahead of Cluj, Lazio & Rennes who all went on to have very good seasons, well Lazio fell apart after lockdown …

Tell a fib often enough and some believe it ends up the truth ….

Looking forward to the Hungarians on Wednesday … this Celtic team aren’t as bad as some would like/think them to be :-)

Just about to get off the train and into the office … not a great feeling but the Mrs was all chuffed when I left the house …. absence makes the heart grow fonder ??? She was certainly happy to get me out of “her” house today :-)

  3. Big Wavy

No he is not.He is only tasked with playing against the Mbappes ,Messis,Ronaldo,Neymars ,etc,of this world.

    Ridiculous analogy.

  4. Turkeybhoy

Comparing a world class talent in Silva to Scott Brown is an utterly riduclous analogy.

  5. MAD MITCH

Not a fan of PLs,in fact,he does not interest me,not in the least. You want him out.Does that mean the next guy will be better?Maybe a lot worse. You do see some of the carnage down South, and around Europe.Take a look at the teams contesting the latter stages of the European games. All hooky owners, benefactors. Is that what you would want?My interest in Celtic is watchin g the team. What goes on upstairs, not my concern,if whoever is in charge is keeping us viable, money wise.Too many, too full of angst about what PL,the Directors are doing.Dont seem able to enjoy the success. Not me,I like many others on here, lived through the Kelly’s,and the Whites.I am luvvin this period.

  6. BIG WAVY,

Not comparing players, only ages.Brown is done at 35 but Silva is not at 36???????Your reasoni ng was that Brown needs more mobility, than Silva.Thats the ridiculous analogy.

  7. TB @ 11.12

Your argument sounds too much like cap doffing for my liking.

What happens upstairs — not for the likes of us …

PL is a second rate property bean counter who should never have been given executive authority over a burger van never mind a £100mill T/O business like us.

Over paid / over promoted / over the hill — he really needs to spend more time with his heated driveway.

  8. No more from me on Broony.Celtic employ,at great cost,a team of sports science guys that monitor players performances. How far they run, heart rate, etc. All analyzed after every game.

When they, and Lenny tell me Broony is no longer up to the job I will agree.

  9. Turkeybhoy.

Chelsea are taking a risk. Let’s see how Silva gets on. He’ll be one of many CHs at their expensivelty assembled squad and if legs are a problem they’ll replace him. They are taking a risk as are we weekly. Problem we have is that many of our fans, you inlcuded, don’t see it as a risk.

Let’s see how things pan out.

  10. TS to Chelsea — looks like a move to top up the pension.

One last big payday trying to pass on some experience to lesser players.

Interesting the EPL angle on the latter stages of the CL.

Nothing about the lack of EPL success just comments about who might move where.

  11. MAD MITCH,

A Cap Doffer???.What, because I don’t give a flying F about them.See when you bring up the “Heated Driveway”,guff, waste of time debating with you.Anyway, you are obviously far too numerate and intelligent for the likes of me,going by your analysis of PLs handling of the multi million job that is Celtic FC.

Just what is your job again?

We played Scott when he was injured last year. We played Moi when he was injured last year. Serious questions need to be asked about our use of science which looks a lot like blind loyalty to me. I’d love to see us use analytics, science and data much more than we do but get a feeling Neil is still in the ‘old-fashioned’ school.

  13. MAD MITCH

What,Chelsea are going to sign Tommy Sheridan?Suppose there is a life after Polirics.

You could have knocked me down with a feather.

  14. weebobbycollins on

Big Wavy…when was the last time you were happy?

Celtic make me happy! Even when we lose I can get up again quite easily. Been that way since I first saw the Bhoys…

Take us to the 10 Scotty…

    cheerupcsc…

  15. Duffy seems to be on a plane and has tweeted Lets Go & his brother has posted an image if The Celtic Crest,

    From Glasgow Live.

  16. WeeBobbyCollins

Couldn;’t be happier fella but I guess feel blessed to have the ability to be both happy and curious at the same time. Keeps me alive.

I invest a lot, as you do I’m sure, in Celtic and take an interest beyond the glib “a win’s a win”, “sign of champions” trope that gets accepted as the surface deep response we are only allowed here. I think we’ve wasted a few weeks of the season sorting out some sytemic issues that better teams will exploit. The teams we’ve played so far have papered over the cracks.

    HH

  17. I think most people have seen that our midfield has been lacking a bit of energy and zip. Personally, I don’t think having Scott Brown play every week helps and while I’m not writing him off, I’d like to see him played sparingly.

Turnbull would be an excellent signing. Young, hungry and will bring some much-needed energy to the side. He knows the Scottish game so no bedding in period like Klimala and Soro (if we ever get to see Soro).

Bringing in Duffy would be a boost too although the club must’ve known from the off that wages might be an issue. With that being the case, I hope they have a plan B ready.

  18. I know very little about Turnball. What type of player is he? What’s his best position? Who would you compare him with in the last few years?

  19. Wee Dallas isnae the Brightest, his Anger was Evident frae the little I witnessed, was aff the scale.

Do not Even go there Dallas.

The whole Fenian Army is Good and not deceptive

    Anger is indeed an Energy.
