  1. There’s a real deficit in the defence now, like it’s been gutted. A palpable fragility and no amount of player blaming can surmount the fact that this lies squarely at the door of Nancy.

I don’t see a way back for him now.

    Swiss.

  2. That should have been 7-2.No exaggeration.Absolute worst finishing I have seen in a single game. Not just chances,sitters.Maedas,FFS.The worst.

Sorry, but he has to go.I am no blaming him tonight,as soon as Unt. upped their game our players lost everything. We got back in because they sat back, and still contrived to miss sitters

    Shocking finishing,

    Sick.Kenny and Yamada,5 between them.Sick.

  3. David17…away and Google the definition of Supporter. I have no faith or liking for the Board and their negligence, but if you can’t see that castigating the manager and players during the match to take a swipe at the Board is hugely counter productive then you’re missing the point

Ekbhoy it’s ok there’s a space for you in the creepy crawlies gang.

So I take it your happy with the away support , while we’re attempting to get back into the game , telling the manager to gtf. It’s got to that stage , brilliant.

Burnley – posted without reading back. No sympathy for the Nancy GTF chants. None. TBH made me fell heartsick because I know where responsibility really lies. Lawwell going is fantastic news. The outer phoneys need chased before I’ll celebrate Xmas thanks.

Imagine Ray Singh-Carr was your maths teacher. ‘Remember kids, two plus two equals…. Christmas’.

  7. I don’t feel sorry for Nancy. He’s an ideologue who has completely misjudged the club, the league and the demands of the supporters. No doubt we’ll hear more guff about it not being about results.

Leverkusen sacked Ten Hag after three games. Nothing wrong with cutting your losses.

Oh and those who appointed him need to fall on their sword too.

  8. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Fair analysis PLB.

I thought we were OK first half but the process is too new to be trusted by the players for a full game … and can’t yet … withstand any meaningful pressure.

Energy levels dropped markedly in the second half.

The players have carried a physical load from the schedule.

And they looked emotionally exhausted at full time

… all well learning new stuff.

I feel really sorry for our players and our manager.

I’ve no doubt they’ll be feeling worse than we do right now.

I’ll be there on Sunday to cheer our team on

    Hail Hail

    Keep The Faith

  9. Really disappointed. With Roma expected that outcome.First half V Hearts we should have had the game won,St. Mirren game no complaints better team won..tonight first half performance,we played well, should have been out of sight…..second half Maeda and Shin with good chances…not taken,I still believe we will win the title, but not with WN in charge.

  10. The first half support was excellent. Second half, some very poor chants.

However, that’s now why we lost, that was merely the reaction to another defeat looming.

First we were told on here there was no regression and we were panic merchants to believe so. Then, Brendan was to blame for everything. Honestly, he was blamed for our entire footballing structure. Now? Its the fans. Not all of them, just ‘them uns’ .

The truth is sitting in comfier seats. This was all so predictable and so avoidable

  12. I’ve said it before Nancy should have been a next June signing, with a full pre season to implement his ideas and get players on board and new ones in. This board are inadequate.

  13. the long wait is over on

Calling for the managers head the way some fans in the ground did tonight – no matter the circumstances- is not the way I was brought up to behave as a Celtic fan let alone a human being.

Vile , toxic stuff and it can’t help.

I’ll take some comfort from the fact that I think it’s symbolic of society generally now and not just related to Celtic.

  15. 1978 Jock Steins last season the last time we lost 4 in a row.

Truly unbelievable and unforgivable and unimaginable given where we were eight months ago.

  16. Maolmuire O Muirgheasa on

    Calmac on SKy Sports.

Aye, first half… fine. The plan was working. Got the goal, moved it with a bit of purpose. Johnny… he could’ve had a couple, to be honest. Then the whistle goes right when you don’t want it to. You know how it is.

Second half… we come out flat. One moment of slackness, and they’re level. And then… well. You hear it. That’s when the ‘Sack the Board’ starts up.

I’m a big Superman fan. The boys know it. We’ve got the box sets on the bus. And I’ll tell you this for nothing, those chants, the ones about the board? Pure, 24-carat Kryptonite. It’s not a metaphor. You can feel it. A sort of… heaviness in the legs. The clever pass you suddenly don’t see. The run you don’t make. It all just… drains away into the turf. By the time the ‘Martin O’Neill’ verses start? That’s the full power siphon. Next thing we are down 2-1 and up against it.

So, we’ve got an appointment. Tomorrow. Nine AM sharp on the Arnprior Road. A gentleman from Kingston, Jamica, proper practitioner, highly recommended. We’re taking the whole squad. We need a proper spiritual cleanse, get this board-related energy unbound from our auras. Got to be right for Aberdeen on Sunday.

  17. The timing of this new managerial appointment was crazy

Not said with hindsight. Many of us suggested same while Martin was still in the dugout.

    Madness

  18. Back to Basics…

    Well said…

BTW in the midst of all the recriminations we shouldn’t forget the appalling non-offside that led to their winning goal. He was a mile off. That was a disgrace.

Also, poor Nancy must be the world’s unluckiest man. Two of the worst sitters missed in Celtic’s history,in the same game. Nothing he can be blamed for there. His situation is just impossible. I really feel for the guy.

  21. Nancy has to go, no question. Dogmatic managers who refuse to adapt to circumstances are a disaster waiting to happen, or in our case have already happened. Unfortunately for Nancy i actually think we have the players, other than a decent striker, at the club to play his system. A back three of Scales, Trusty and Vickers with Johntone and Saratchie as wing backs, Maeda and Jota on the wings with a decent number 9

Couldn’t put it better myself wells said…to quote

‘not the way I was brought up to behave as a Celtic fan let alone a human being.’

As an old yin, some fans only know success, whereas the old yins have had all the ups and downs.

  23. how did all you lot slagging the away support manage to post here in amongst the crowd ? good news is some of you wont need to buy selection boxes, you’ll be getting free mars bars offered to you at the hun game. Anybody think we will finish in the top 6 if WN stays ?

  25. Host will be unable to post and ode to Lawwell.

This is the state he left the club in —- a complete shambles.

As can be witnessed nearly the entire Celtic support wanted him gone for years.

He brought this upon himself with his control freak nature, ego and greed.

His tea boy Nicholson the mute needs to be sacked as well.

Nancy was taking instructions from Strachan — he does not have a clue.

I have never seen a manager disintegrate in front of my eyes.

All the idiots who appointed this guy have really damaged the club.

  26. Hoop hoop Hooray on

I defended Nancy after first couple of games. But he has now won 5 of his last 20 games on both sides of the Atlantic. The missed chances upfront are due to us not having a proper striker following the asset stripping and tisdales disastrous window. But of more concern is the huge number of chances we are conceding in every game with no lessons learned. That is down to formation and tactics and that’s on him.

Twice he has said in pressers changes will be minimal yet Schmeichel and maybe Calmac are the only player s who haven’t been played in new positions.

Tidsdale was responsible for that disastrous windows He also thought Wilf would be a good fit cos his Under 19 coach at Exeter knew him.

Managing in the lowest leagues in England qualified him for our DOF job, it’s been a disaster.

RIP it up and start again.

  28. I feel dreadfully sorry for Nancy, I found our supporters chants embarrassing. We are all hurting . So is Nancy. He knows now how sub standard too many of his players are. He cant be blamed for the plethora of chances our players missed. He looks totally lost. His problem thus far is that opposition teams are changing tactics at half time and he has no plan B.

BR warned the Board these players are not good enough. We sold our best and replaced with inferior. The Board admitted they made mistakes . Now they have another dilemna. Do they keep Nancy and trust him to bring in what he needs or let go now. Bottom line is that it will take some time for him to turn this team around. Which will likely cost us the league and Scottish Cup and no CL qualification.

    Trying to bite my tongue.

    Some hun like behaviour.

    ==========

Aipple; at the game or on this blog, bud ?

After this disappointment, it seems it’s best to just bay for blood; anyone and everyones :(

But for atrocious finishing by some of our forwards we may have been seeing the green shoots of a Nancy recovery. After a good first half, the players inexplicably seemed to ease off.

  30. Desmond is too thran to sack Nancy.

And it will be his call.

Let’s not fool ourselves into thinking our board actually run the club. They’re nodding dogs and they’re well paid to nod.

But Desmond will 100% allow WN to wreck the season.
