Really glad to see the sentiment on here (at least) is supportive of a guy 2 weeks into a job in a toxic environment with no proper tools to do the job and under the most insane public scrutiny.
That restores faith in human nature and decency in these weird times.
Last nights performance by those lucky enough to get tickets at the Celtic end was indeed a rubicon crossed as one of our best posters suggested.

I hasten to add the manager suffered 2 really poor offside calls and a blatantly biased linesman in both league games.

We all remember the days when we knew Celtic had to go 3 up early because the defence would fold. This is where we are. People saying the first half showed hopeful signs are living in dreamland. We were up against an appallingly weak team and let them totally boss and dominate the second half until they took the lead. Then they knew they could sit back and put their feet up as did Hearts, Roma and St Mirren. As soon as we conceded a goal, any hope of reviving the fast attacking football disappeared and the players once again looked bemused by the game plan – if there was one.
This guy will waste money in January, the shape will stay the same, his emotional fragility will continue to sap the team’s spirit and we will lose the league. This is a league we should never lose with the players we have. I feel sick to the stomach that something so utterly avoidable will be allowed to unfold.
I don’t like the personal abuse from the fans, but the message must be delivered. This guy has to go and go now.

Good morning all.
Long time no post.
Since I have been away from this wonderful place our board have continued to drag our club into the depths of their good friends in Govan, by banning celtic supporters, talking to celtic supporters in a condescending, unbefitting and unbelievable manner at an AGM, cancelling said AGM, then banning the Celtic supporters group (celtic collective) from press conferences where the fans can ask questions. Our board have held us back so much that we are now in a Kelly/White era, where they have forgotten what our club was formed for.

I think it is fair to say that, once Brendan got his sandshoes on, Celtic conjured up a solution to his leaving not by a considered approach, but via a telephone call from Dermot Desmond to a coffeeshop on the Kings Road , which found Martin O’Neill at the other end of the phone. Think Martin had been working @ TalkSport earlier that morning in the company of big fan Jim White. Had Martin been offered the job as the club’s yuletide Santa Claus he would still have jumped at the chance, thinking…it’s Christmas comes early. None of us knew just how good a coaching team would be formed with Shaun, Gavin and Mick in situ and Mark Fotheringham drafted in, but no one can deny they were meeting our relatively short term goals. And therein lies the paradox, any new manager would be replacing a coaching team that was getting more out of more players, and more importantly, achieving key results, in the LC, the EL and the SPL. Fair to say the new man is not. And not just that Martin had re-energised the players, he was seen by the supporters as ‘one of us’ while on good terms with the Board. Not an easy task. Shame to have cut that short when, as we now know, Martin and his relatively young coaching team would not have thought twice about staying on at Celtic
And so it goes.

The chants we heard are a symptom, not the cause. They are the direct result of the system currently in place.
To blame the supporters—those who chanted ‘sack the board’ and ‘Nancy GTF’—is the finest form of straw-clutching. It’s a transparent attempt to seize the moral high ground, to pontificate from on high, and to deflect from the real issues. It won’t wash.
Those people bought their tickets. They travelled to Dundee. And what did they witness? A sub-par manager and a sub-par team on the park. They pay through the nose for the privilege; they have every right to voice their fury.
Pistol Pete is gone. Deal with it. The slippery characters creeping through these forums, looking for a scapegoat and attempting to pin this shitshow on the fans, are all well-known. They seem to have skipped the first stage of grief and leapt straight into the blame phase.
The club’s memo last night was transparent. Your deflective attempts here are equally transparent, and just as hollow.
This is only the beginning. The decks need to be cleared.
Back To Basics, I had a wee look at the list of Scottish Champions on Wikipedia last night, and from summer 1922 up to the first of Jock Stein’s 9iar in 1966, Celtic won just 4 titles in 43 years! How times have changed.
As you say, next up is Aberdeen, who have the equal best record (points won) in the SPL over the last 6 games. It will be no walk in the park. Then it’s plastic fantastic and then Motherwell away. The malaise may not be over yet.
If ever our Bhoys needed supporting, they do NOW. And by definition supporters support, so let’s do so. By contrast fan(atic)s are fanatical, and in times such as these they get wound up into a frenzy like whirling Dervishes, which serves only to increase players’ anxieties, lower confidence, and heighten the disconnect which does nothing to help improve the situation.
It’s time to stand united, cut out the noise and disharmony and overcome. After all, win our game in hand and we’re still only 3 points off the top of the league. It’s still there to be won!

What we need now is a Celtic code of conduct. Sign up to it before you go into a game,
There were a couple of thousand like that in the 90s but there were tens of thousands more that could see the writing on the wall. And, you know what happened after that change our club moved forward and it will again.

This Xmas Mute Mikey will be writing a handover note to his soon-to-be successor rather than Santa…
Dear Mr Desmond’s new flunky,
A few words of advice on how to hold on to your £850K a year sinecure:
1. Extract as much money as you can from the peasants funding the club. Selling false hope as jam tomorrow has always worked for me and big Pistol… until now… Market at least 6 strips a year (maybe a Glasgow Cup special edition?) and slowly chip away at the season book offer and hope they don’t notice.
2. Uncritically carry out Mr Desmond’s instructions, no matter how deranged.
3. Asset-stripping is the name of the game. Sell anything of value and replace with cheap shite wherever possible.
4. Gaslighting is key. Black is always white, white is always black.
5. Only speak when you really have to. Maybe once every couple of years and only then for 3 mins reading an autocue whilst being ‘interviewed’ by Gerry McCulloch.
6. When you do speak make sure to speak down to the peasants. Attack them for being uncouth, ignorant and unworthy of you and your chums. Make sure they know their place. I find demeaning your ‘customer base’ at every opportunity to be a sound business strategy.
7. Whatever you do ensure the stadium is like a morgue on matchdays. Ban anyone capable of creating an atmosphere. They will only use it to attack you for being superior to them.
8. Mobilise plants on CQN and in the media to attack the Celtic fans. Attacking is what Celtic are famous for after all. At least that’s what I was told by my rugby teacher at St Aloysius. If you need to, employ a PR firm to attack the fans. Spare no expense as anything less will prove a false economy.
9. Talking of firms, take care of our Old Firm chums over at Ibrox. Some of the many idiots in our support say Rangers died in 2012 but Mr Desmond and big Pistol would never allow that to happen. As far as we’re concerned Rangers is a “great club” and a worthy business partner – sorry rival, for our sorry lot.
10. And whatever you do, make sure never to broach our self-imposed glass ceiling. Even if that means intentionally blowing up a couple of seasons every decade to allow our chums at Ibrox to satisfy their own mob of ingrates by winning the league. I’ve always found the glass ceiling a very comfortable place to reside and kick my feet up whilst the money continues to roll in.
So in finishing, I wish you bonne chance mon ami. If you abide by the above you’ll be golden. Worry not about me. I’ve got a few quid in the bank and Mr Desmond is looking to secure a cosy wee number at UEFA where I’ll get to speak even less. In the meantime I’m heading back to the rugby club for a nice little G&T.
PS we store the tarpaulin for the top tier in the boot of big Pistol’s limo. He’ll give you the keys.

I’d love to have something salient to say this morning, but it’s a bonfire, isn’t it.
Looking at last night in isolation, we went into the match having conceded goals from corners in three successive matches.
The reaction? We dropped Scales, our best and perhaps only competent aerial defender and played Ralston and Tierney either side of Trusty. Two typical sized full backs as centre backs in yet another all new defence.
Note: The AVERAGE height of the Dundee Utd team is 6’2″.
We lost both goals from the second phase of corner kicks.
That alone suggests a fundamental lacking on the part of the manager. Sorry.
It remains inexplicable that we have no strikers at the club bar the quality but perma-injured Iheanacho. That at least makes it somewhat explicable that we failed to score with the number of high probability chances we created. That’s not on Nancy.
What is on him is the aptness to play players in new positions in new systems in every match. It works for the first 30 minutes or so of each game until the opposition works it out then… we lose.
And we lose meekly. Last night we went a goal behind in the 61st minute – there was more than half an hour to play yet the manager after the match stated repeatedly that we lost the match in 3 minutes. No, we lost the goals in three minutes. We lost the match before we got off the bus.
Against St Mirren we went a goal behind after 64 minutes. Against Hearts we lost the second goal on 64 minutes. On each occasion we were unable to recover from what are ordinary course setbacks. The manager doesn’t seem to know what to do when we lose a goal.
And he doesn’t seem to know what to do when we lose a match. There seems to be no learning from mistakes, and Lord knows there are plenty of mistakes to learn from. Man to man marking at corners? Who came up with that throwback? Luke McCowan as wing back? Gulp. Repeat. Maeda in any position except the one he’s good at? Absolutely, try this one today, Daizen. And so on, and so on.
Roll up! Roll up! It’s an endless season of clown shows. Football as slapstick.
And the producers watch on: Our Head of Football Operations whose role is so secret no one knows what on earth he does; Our CEO who’s in the wrong role in the wrong show.
Who wrote this script? It’s compelling viewing for everyone except those of us who pay to watch it.
Tune in on Sunday for another episode of WTAF.

Your last comment assumes the Directors of the club are actively conspiring to do what , get worse , honestly this is complete claptrap.
Let’s just leave it at that , jeezo

EKBhoy
maybe even just freeing KT….
and we definitely do not have enough in the tank to beat never mind gub the sheep
A draw will be WN’s first non-defeat and it might not happen this year
will i turn up sunday – yes
will i boo the team ? never have – during or after a game
will i boo the board – nope – not during the game – but feck all this united front bs – they have to be replaced asap
the only unity right now should be between the team and the support
this board are far worse in their attitude to the support than the whites or kellys ever were – they deserve no support, no time and no leeway
Merry Christmas, Aulheid. Fine tidings, those.
JUNGLE JIM if you are about have you got any betting on CELTICS next manager PLEASE.

On a bit of reflection, do you not feel we can do better than that, no matter how much you might want him to go?
Guy’s a human being as much as you or I are and , whatever his failings may be, is currently the Celtic manager and , even if wildly out of his depth, doing what he can.
Shameful post.
Auldheid
Marvellous all clear you don’t look 79 must be the EK air and Ginger Beer.

Back to Basics – Glass Half Full
I’m not disputing anything you say but, I think we might need that waiting list.
Dunfermline play Ayr on Saturday, maybe big Pete could loiter around the showers at full time. . . . .
Maolmuire O Muirgheasa – he could get the manager and assistant manager in one swoop.
