  1. the long wait is over on

I thought that when Kenny scored against Rangers in the semi he’d kick on.

I’d still love for him to do so of course but at the minute he looks as poor a CF as I can remember, even as back up.

  2. We’ve seen so many recent games like this, well on top with lots of chances but not able to put them away. I dare not mention what usually happens after that. Come on boys, starting clicking!

  3. One thing for sure, that is a very poor DU team. No heart or effort.

Kaspers distribution is rapidly going down hill.

Backs playing well, but not much up against them.

Bernardo (more than Engles or Nygren) doing well, as is the Captain.

    Maeda’s goal was a cracker.

Feel sorry for Kenny. He is doing all the right things, except score……

  4. One of the better halves of football I’ve seen us play this season. A half-decent striker would give it much different context.

Need a second as I don’t trust that back three.

  5. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Not bad at all.

    First 10 minutes – amazing.

    10 – 18 good

    19-26 not so good

    27-33 our untidiest period

    34-45 OK.

Simple things and nothing to get the champagne out for.

    Competing individually very well.

Only once has a Celt hit the deck looking for a cuddle when competing for a high ball.

    I expect a reaction from D. Utd 2nd half.

Will be interesting to see if we can keep trusting the process under more pressure.

  6. Not bad. Some good play at times, and we have created some half decent chances, very good ones in Kenny’s case. Got to take one or more of them, or we give hope to the Arabs. Positive play though.

  7. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Yes Kenny has missed three good chances.

    Big minus.

He has though led the line well and connected well.

His busyness has also helped create space for others.

I’d keep him on for at least 15.

  8. play fast , scintillating , connected football . Bernardo is better than Engels (more effective) , both wingers have been great , especially Maeda – ball in front of him and he is frightening – ball into his feet and he is not frightening.

Trusty playing well and leading , stepping up.

Johnny has done well holding the ball up – just not sharp enough. Keep head up and it’ll come.

Much better but need to factor United have no wingers , no real threat. Still hanging in balance and will need another 1 or 2

  9. glendalystonsils on

The kind of game we’ve got used to lately where it should be 3 or 4 nothing on balance of play but could just as easily be 1-1 .

We’re doing well to very well in most aspects of the game apart from the most crucial aspect of putting the ball in the net. Maybe half time will give Kenny a chance to swop his boots over on to the correct feet.

  10. Good energy and intensity

We can expect some pauses in our pace

Be interesting to see whether D Utd come at us

    They’re not brilliant, bodes well

  11. Madras Rua”,Kenny is doing all the right things except score.”

He is good at letting a pass bounce 4 yards away from him.He is good at not getting in for the balls coming across from wide, anticipation.

Finally ,he is good at being useless.

  12. A decent enough 45m showing against a very shit United.

Nicely taken by Daizen ‘cannae finish’ Maeda.

A striker; a striker; my kingdom for a striker !!

  13. United will make tactical changes at half time , they should come down our right , we need to be on it for the first 10 or 15 minutes and not cough up any chances.

Hopefully if we can keep going rattle in a few more goals and turn the corner

  14. the long wait is over on

We can’t afford for Kenny to keep missing chances

It will sap the energy and confidence of the rest of the team.

Another 15/20 mins or first missed chance , whichever comes first.

  15. Re YOUNG Kenny he has pace to burn….

He ‘s not the finished article yet ..but by god he will be…..

Mabye not with us ..But farther down the line oh yes…

  16. Celtic Mac, do you still have that post demonstrating that we replaced everyone we sold? I need a laugh.

  17. glendalystonsils on

Hope we don’t drop off too much in the second half like we did v Hearts after an impressive first half.

Even with all our other limitations , we are one good striker away from being a decent side .
