    Bit of a lacklustre second half, but good game management by the gaffer. Safely through to the next round, 4 goals none conceded, what’s not to like.

    Don’t think I’ve ever seen a team hit the woodwork five times against us. Can’t be as slack on Wednesday. Some good performances. Duran looks really good. Baur.gave it away a couple of times but looks comfortable on the ball.

    Four goals scored…..into the next round, home tie against anybody would suit me fine…..

     

    Bit too open for our liking but it was a knockout cup tie

     

    They knocked their efforts out the park…..

     

    And we knocked them out the Cup….

    Only saw bits of second half mainly ,on a very stuttery stream . Scoreline says very comfortable win but my eyes tell me we had an alarming lack of control in the game second half .

     

    Hopefully just a result of changes , new players and having the game sewn up quite early .

     

    Improvement required for Wednesday though and I’m sure Martin will be on top of it .

    Well done Celtic loads of goals in this team and threats from a variety of players, good to hear MoN recognise that we also gave up chances which against better sides will cost goals, time in the window to get fixes for that. On to wed night big big occasion.

    My main takeaways:

     

     

    – very pleased for Duran. He’s seemingly being played out of position so delighted he scored. He’s lightning quick.

     

     

    – given his CV, I was intrigued/amused to see AOC being billed as “drop off in quality” compared to Engels. His range of passing in the first half was very good, although he seemed to go missing at the start of the second half before being subbed. I thought he did well for his first appearance of the season.

     

     

    – same for Scales. He’s not a left back, but he hasn’t played competitively this season, Celtic won 4-0 and he got 90 minutes in his legs.

     

     

    – quiet first half for Nygren, but what a finish. Wow👏👏

     

     

    – I’m just in and have read back. I can’t see the comment saying Tounekti should take steroids?

    As pointed out today was a knockout Cup tie something which for the most part we have been pretty good at in recent years, and for which the result is all. Not to say the ability of our opponents to get past our midfield, and into attacking positions was not of concern. Last season I suggested on here more than once that I thought Stephen Welsh might make a good defensive midfielder, could be effective in front of a back four. Pretty good in the air, good tackler/ball winner can pass forward and can get into the opponents 18 box. Alas Martin did not get the memo, and neither did anyone else. CalMac is not that player, and neither is the Ox. Reo is closer to it but does not get picked. Maybe KT or Liam Scales could do it, both pretty good defensively, as is Tony Ralston but he is preferred @ RB. Wee bit of a tactical dilemma for Wed then with Engels gone. Answers on a postcard. Preferably.

    Score looks good, but fits and starts.That performance wont do on Wednesday.We are seriously lacking a defensive mid.Will come back to haunt us,I fear.Not really bothered about beating Dundee U,all that mstters is qualification.I really feel we hsve been let down again.Good signings,but too late,and pieces missing,which could have been avoided.Clap all you like tonight,I will save mine for Wednesday.

    If Rodgers was still in charge Dundee Utd would have won easily today.

     

    30 minutes into the game before the conflict songbook was laid aside and then it dawned on the dim Tims to sing Martin O’Neill’s name after crawled off his hospital bed to manage Celtic.

     

    These ignorant arrogant fans deserved more years of Rodgers infighting, backstabbing, double talk, from the shifty one, so that dim Tims could boo the board some more.

     

    Celtic’s players are now all facing in the same direction which is good to see, long may iyt continue as the club is well rid of the Rodgers myth.

     

    Robbie Keane is more viable than Rodgers.

     

    Robbie Keane and Sir Rod the Fraud worked in Isnotreal and only RK is the bad guy in the opinion of the never to be trusted dim Tims.

     

    The club is fkd until it properly educates the dim Tim virus.

    A refusal to update the League Table, a distortion of the truth, is surely hugely disrespectful to both our team and Club of last year and this year, and disrespectful to our fans.
