Rules are rules (whether they be good or bad rules) and we weren’t granted any ‘favours’at the second goal , just as DU weren’t penalised in any way. Both teams got the correct outcome under the rules . If DU had scored in identical circumstances , the goal would have stood

I fully understand what you are saying and agree that we were not given any favours last night. I just think that the law is an ass when it comes to the hand ball rule. It seems to change too often and needs too much clarification.
I’m delighted that we won the game. Glad to see so many posters recognise the need for a defensive midfielder. We need to get one in pronto. Get the agreement with the other club done first thing on Monday morning. Tell the player and his agent to get on the plane. Carry out the medical in London or Ross Hall. Agree terms. Register with SFA and UEFA before Tuesday night deadline. Simples.

Totally agree about the handball rule . It should be more black and white to avoid the kind of post match hysteria which tends to take away from the qualities of the match itself .

I’ve got more family in New York than I do in Scotland….all of them support Celtic and a lot of them would be able to tell you who scored for us yesterday so I sort of reciprocate and sort of support the Mets and the Giants.
However I know some of us have an English team but I never have.
However this year I will be cheering on…..
Ipswich
West Ham and
Swansea.

I see their clinging to something that makes them feel better about themselves as a deeper sign of self loathing.
Historically they “know” that their predecessors were stealers of land and lives (read To Hell and Barbados under Cromwell) and rather than admit their guilt they project it on to their victims because to admit it is too painful to bear.
It softens their guilt on basis they are better than us and if that is not supported via football then by God they will cling to any other means of showing they are superior.
Folk who do not carry guilt or admit reasons for it, have no need to use others to make them feel better about themselves.

there arent only going to be a total of 1,544 prisoners in the 2 jails in the lifetime of those jails so the stat doesnt really make any numerical sense.

Turkeybhoy – I am in line with the argument that we needed midfielders and full back cover in for the CL qualifier, but frankly, now it’s too late. No one realistically could come in now and fit into the team with barely any training sessions. We need to go with what we have. That’s why it’s Yang over Tounetki for me. He tracks back, can tackle, and will work his socks off. Not ideal, but we just need to get through these two games.
Agree we urgently need a defensive midfielder, far too many times yesterday our captain was either caught in possession or gave the ball away in our own half when pressed to set up a opposition attack.

I can categorically state that I peronally have never been any party to a converted campaign against Brendan Rodgers over the last 3 years.
My criticism of BR arises from his conduct this time last year.
If Chairbhoy or any other BR fanboy can give me a good explanation as to why Engels, Idah, Bernardo and McCowan sat on the bench Vs Kairat Almaty – with all BR’s associated talk around Honda Civics – then I might revise my opinion.
P.S. I have also been critical of the ownership and structure at Celtic. Some of us are capable of having more than one thought. Try it some time.

Re your comment on players position when receiving a pass. Real bugbear of mine is why so many passes go backwards or into the feet of a teammate rather than into the space in front for the player to run into. Takes the momentum out of play so often.
