  1. Stephen Welsh was outstanding the day and should have scored a major upgrade on starfelt.by far a better player.abada non existent again.mon coatbridge welshybhoy TAL๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ€

  2. Clearly I’ve been out the loop recently, saw the tennis ball protest and the banner re Higgins, but unaware of the issue. Saw that the Higgins in question is an (ex)? cop who may be hired as Security adviser. Whats the issue? Does he have a history with Celtic support?

  3. ROBERTTRESSELL on 7TH NOVEMBER 2021 2:45 PM

    Thanks for that.

On reflection, maybe the protest would have worked better at Celtic Park on a non Poppy day. Then again, I think we have quite a wait for our next Home game. Hmm..

  4. HLS

“Higgins played a major part in the vicious implementation of the much-hated Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) and passionately defended the legislation within the Scottish Parliament.โ€

His appointment would be no laughing matter, however, for the hundreds of Celtic fans who either fell victim to the police cruelty Higgins oversaw, or the thousands who witnessed their friends or family endure the ordeals of arrest, trial and tribulation, this would represent the ultimate insult.

โ€œThe police officer most responsible for the reprehensible attack on our support, our culture and our values would be rewarded for these very acts by being given a prestigious position within the club we all love.

โ€œAlthough we have raised these concerns with the club privately, they are unwilling to engage on the matter.”

  5. It is Celtic40me

They do their utmost to destabilise and decry us with a fawning and compliant meeja to deflect deny and go by the rule cheat-good,Celtic bad.

Post away.give them the chaos their cheating deserves.:-)

    Celtic forever…well continuously anyway ๐Ÿคฃ

  6. This ‘gang’ that has attached itself to Celtic in recent years continues to drag our name through the mud. Those involved know what they’re doing and frankly don’t give a f***. Our great club is used only as a platform for their hatred & political nonsense.

Those who look for excuses merely facilitate them and the damage they do

Celtic could take steps to ‘weed’ these people out by banning them from Celtic Park and simply refusing away allocations. It would be initially messy and imperfect, but worth it in the long run.

The overwhelming majority must now make their voices heard.

  7. Just back from Dens.

    Thoroughly enjoyed that today.

Jota , Ralston and Kyogo outstanding.

    4-2 flatterd them.

A special mention to Bitton who I have critised over the years. He had a very good game.

    Subs once again disappointed.

  8. Park the bus > blootir it > simple on

Ten years after arriving, Bitton is played in proper position, and he looks like a different player.

Reminds me of the video of Efe Ambrose first game for us, in his proper position, the Bitton position, defensive midfielder, Efe Ambrose was outstanding for us, in his first game, It was only v Raith Rovers at Parkhead in a LC game, nevertheless, Efe looked like a real find. Then manager Neil Lennon, needed a centre half at that time, and it looked as though NL was told to play Efe at centre half, and Efe looked like a fish out of water, a bombscare,

just like Bitton has been for most of his ten years. If both Bitton, and Ambrose had been played in their correct positions, defensive midfielders, the corner cutting bstrd Lawwell might’ve made a few ยฃ’s from these 2 players, instead of making them look like hopeless footballers.

Good result today again, Ange, and Celtic. ๐Ÿ‘

The Green Brigade need to stop singing about rebels, whilst failing to rebel against the hideous PLC and their dark trickery, throwing tennis balls, and holding up bits of cardboard in the car park, is NOT rebelling, withholding your contributions to the gravy filled trough, until share price AND PLC falls, IS rebellion that gets to the point, singing Irish rebel songs isn’t rebellion, songs which now have no relevance to current events, unlike in the 60’s 70’s 80’s and 90’s, when there was an armed struggle against British imperialism on the island of Ireland, and mainland Britain as well, but now a days, the rebellion should come from not just the Green Brigade, but all paying fans to remove Celtic’s PLC Irish “free state” off shore controller’s and become working class socialists like we always have been, until Celtic political voters were left homeless by, Blairite Murdoch MSM driven campaign, to “smash” any Marxist political hopes for Celtic supporters, and drove Celtic political voters into the hands of real bad yins. Oh yes they are!

Celtic supporters who vote the way they do, the majority, then double down in their denials of the negative ramifications of those votes. Oh yes they do.

OBAF act, and the prosecutions of a conveyor belt of “squirrels” for all of the Ibrox EBT corruption, at a cost of hundreds of ยฃ millions to “you” the tax payer, whilst not a single glove has landed on David Murray, are only made possible by Celtic supporters who vote the way they do, and all of this is just the tip of the iceberg.

If Celtic supporters were “really” as Marxist as they were in the days of the pish flowing, magical, untouchable, The Jungle, then these rebel singers would all vote for,

    Tommy Sheridan’s “Scottish Socialist Party”

    or….

George Galloway’s “Workers Party of Great Britain”

….but Celtic supporters take the lazy “unthinking” way out and vote for,

the “Sleekit Separatist Party” who’s front bench MPs in Westminster claim up to ยฃ250k each in expenses (socialists my arse), and who want to put a border across a small island and set minority community Celtic supporters up as sitting ducks when the pissed off Ulster Scots exodus begins in earnest, from the dark north of Ireland, once Irish reunification takes place and the descendants if Irish immigrants/refugee’s in 1840’s, will become the new minority of the new dark north of Scotland.

    When will the penny drop?

  9. Martim1980- how do you know it’s the same as the Hendry deal? You don’t. If an EPL team offered Benfica ยฃ15 million, where would he end up

  10. Bada, how do you know it’s not? I would think that any first refusal type deal would be pretty standardised, but like you, I don’t know enough to be sure. All Martim has done is to use the most recent similar deal for us as an example…

  11. Surely respecting a minute’s silence for war dead does not mean you condone British Army murderers in Ireland?

  12. onenightinlisbon on

What’s the point of having an option to buy at the end of a loan agreed at a certain amount only for the goalposts to be moved during the deal? Reckon it’s a fixed ยฃ6m.

  13. Bada, Surely a deal is a deal. We no doubt paid a fee to take him on loan for a year with an option to buy at a fixed price, very same as we did for Eddie.

These things are written in contracts and cant be ignored.

Celtic are probably right to sit it out, anything can happen in Football a player could pick up a career ending injury etc,

  14. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Missed game today traveling.

    Terrific result.

3 points away from home after a late Thursday (a fair distance away) followed by an early Sunday away from home.

    Banana skin territory successfully handled.

Respectfully, some of the comments just after full time a wee bit reactive?

    “We won but …..”

    ???

“Only two class players are Jota and Kyogo”

    Really?

    Juranovic, Hart and McGregor aren’t?

    (they are in my book)

Giakoumakis is not yet fit. Under Ange he’ll only progress and grow if he plays through his discomfort, lack of sharpness and lack of cohesion with his team mates.

Same as Starfelt (who is 6-8 weeks ahead of him) did.

We’re winning games and scoring goals while Ange continues to gel the squad.

    Well done him and them.

    SIONNAIGH on 7TH NOVEMBER 2021 4:18 PM

These guys would not be able to give you a coherent answer to that question.

  16. ONENIGHTINLISBON on 7TH NOVEMBER 2021 4:19 PM

From what I can gather, it’s fixed. If anybody wanted him for around ยฃ15m, they’d have to pay us.

  17. The Noise Abatement cohort out in force now demanding a return to a silent, moribund Celtic Park.

The same posters who were moaning that the Green Brigade had remained silent for thirty minutes for one game thereby denying them the entertainment they somehow think they are entitled to.

They say people get more selfish as they get older (it’s a survival thing) so I suppose it’s to be expected.

The Noise Abatement cohort out in force now demanding a return to a silent, moribund Celtic Park.

    Garbage.

They are a continuing embarrassment to the club.

How many songs do they actually sing that are Celtic ones?

I’m sure the likes of Jota and Jyogo would be inspired by pro IRA chanting…..

  19. As for todays game, thought all our Scots players were average at best. Starfelt took a while to settle, but we do miss him and Welsh is a poor replacement. McGregor OK, Turnbull pretty ineffective, Forrest did nothing of note.

Jota MoM by a mile, followed by Bitton, team seemed to lose cohesion when Kyogo departed, and not for the first time…

Interesting to see how many more get moved on in January, need two or three more in who fit the Angeball style.

  20. Back to basics.

It is November, how can GG not be fit ?

As far as I am aware he did not come to us with an injury.

I am perplexed that the top goal scorer in the premier Dutch league is not showing in Scotland.

He must be given more chances.

    HH.

  21. GG didnโ€™t have a proper preseason and then picked up an injury when he was approaching fitness

  22. Park the bus > blootir it > simple on

The minutes silence jingoistic colonised “minute” of respect, should’ve been stood up to, years ago, when it was clear that this occasion was being sleekitly twisted to smear Celtic FC.

Respect the dead in the tunnel for 1 minute, then team comes onto pitch wearing a white poppy of peace on Celtic’s jersey.

Remembrance Sunday, or, Poppy Sunday, has been colonized by sleekits.

Celtic executive should’ve made this clear years ago when all of this pish started.

We as a club should’ve highlighted the preferential treatment of Ibrox players at ALL times, especially during world wars 1and 2.

Celtic should’ve highlighted who the people are who start wars, why they do it, why they’ll do it again, and why Celtic FC should NEVER be suckered into an imperialist, jingoistic, piss take.

We’re a club formed by genocide fleeing Irish refugees.

So I’m sure the swamp will understand if Celtic FC doesn’t lionize imperialism by, participating in, jingoistic misconceptions, that respect nobody.

Celtic should be educating and leading its supporters, not stepping back and watching supporters walk into a jingoistic trap every year.

  23. GREENPINATA on 7TH NOVEMBER 2021 4:27 PM

I think he had an injury and missed pre-season. He’s had one or two substitute appearances but might take a bit more.

I’m going to take a punt and say he’ll be fully match-fit before McCarthy.

  24. The “gang” that has attached itself to Celtic….it was tennis baws…the meanibg was tweeted….to coflate it with not Remembrance Sunday is hunnish…but u no that

  25. ONENIGHTINLISBON on 7TH NOVEMBER 2021 4:24

Get rid of the GB and there will be no singing or chanting at CP, just as it was before the GB appeared.

I’m sure that will inspire the team.

But you’ll be happy, and that’s all that matters.

  26. Oh Poppy Season. We’ve been expecting you. An annual ritual in dividing the Celtic support, sponsored by Sky’s turned up microphone and the monday morning MSM briefing. Now normalised as a football thing apparently, the handwringing wing will be fuelled by our ‘friends’ in the MSM for the rest of the week.

Your thing? – go to a remembrance parade. Not your thing? – go do something more relevant instead. What it’s doing at football is beyond me.

Anyway, see you again, same time and same place, next year.

    HH

  27. There used to be a regular Exam topic for PE students at Loughborough University:

” Sport take the place of war in modern society. Discuss.”

I would suggest that those who regularly ask of some aspects of the GB repertoire: What has that got to do with Celtic? give at least some consideration to that Loughborough topic.

  28. Park the bus > blootir it > simple on

It has to be said though, the Green Brigade might’ve stumbled across a “get out” from this jingoistic trap for Celtic supporters.

Keep a grievance up your sleeves and, rage against the machine every jingoistic Sunday with a protest, to deflect the usual LodgeMSM narrative away from,

“Celtic supporters ‘coughed’ their way through the minutes silence.”

….etc etc, bull sh** from journalists who should’ve been banned from Parkhead, to landmark a timing, they should’ve been banned for their despicable treatment of first time manager Neil Lennon.

The whole club needs to be reset.

The Green Brigade are lethal assets to Celtic, when they sing the songs with the word that our enemies hate most of all, Celtic.

The magic they, Green Brigade, created around the club with Neil Lennon the first time as manager, had the establishment on the ropes.

    Just think about that.

Quick, fresh, snappy, zest filled, player inspiring, chanting fitba chants, that’s chanting,….

….not singing slow, long, turgid, 5,6,7, verses of every Irish rebel song ever written, for 90+ minutes of every game, never seizing the moment, never getting to the point, tired, past their time, out of date, dinosaurs are us, prehistoric, greenbillys, type of depressing arse dragging, going nowhere, never chanting a Celtic players name without it being included in an arse dragging 3, 4, 5, 6, versed dirg.

Its as though the song book has been hacked and played on a loop.

As Billy Connolly would say, “FCK THAT !?!?!?!”

    Your better than that CSC

  29. Big Wavy:

Your thing? โ€“ go to a remembrance parade. Not your thing? โ€“ go do something more relevant instead. What itโ€™s doing at football is beyond me.

I agree but I think we do know what it is doing at football matches ie just the same as it is doing pinned to every BBC newscaster, presenter, weathermen and women etc.

  30. ” Obviously I would prefer it didn’t happen ”

This is what our manager said when asked about the booing of the minutes silence.

  31. GREENPINATA on 7TH NOVEMBER 2021 5:26 PM

I can see his point when reading his full interview. He’s a professional, wants to focus and win and doesn’t want anything that will distract from the task at hand. His concern is the 90 minutes on the pitch.

  32. GEEBEE1978- why would any team have to pay us? He’s not our player.Just saying all deals are different ,a player must play if fit,or there is a penalty clause etc.If a deal can be concluded in January, do it.Thanks for replies.
