  1. Alcohol Focus Scotland announces Carolyn Lochhead as …

    Alcohol Focus Scotland

12 Jan 2026 — Alcohol Focus Scotland (AFS) is delighted to announce that Carolyn Lochhead has been appointed as our new chief executive.

    LR67 – cheers.

IMHO Scotland’s relationship with alcohol is a national disgrace.

And has been for many decades.

But hey … let’s use a nebulous, parochial concept called the O** F*** to draw attention to it …

(Not a dig at you, BTW)

… instead of holding to account those who should drive the national discourse and solutions arising from it.

… or putting personal, individual responsibility front and centre.

  3. For me, the important question is: Why does Scotland have a drink problem?

I would guess there are multiple causes eg inferiority complex, tradition etc .

Mind you , I expect other countries have the same problem. Is there a common denominator?

If only we hadn’t thought Wilfried Nancy was a good idea, we could’ve been roughing it towards a MON treble? January signings – some unseen, it was back to Brendan’s moby contact list again, and a free man, for the latest three points in MON’s miraculous mini medal hunt. Dire stuff in Dens, with a Celtic midfield malfunctioning towards the big split. SKY working overtime, to provide breathless Ian Crocker with statistics to tell supporters how bad the season really is.

Overall Celtic are a tough watch in the league, but it should have been easy street as Tomas Cvancara was put through more than once, and he really has to find the target sometime soon, before he goes back to Germany, (with his medals?) Daizen Maeda has gone greyer than MON this season, but was livelier in the first half especially Yang put in a typical shift, and just when we needed a striker two came along at once for the opener. MOM for Sweden Nygren doesn’t seem to fit a position at Celtic but as a ‘second striker’ it’s obvious he’s skilled enough to get 20 plus goals, especially when you don’t have a ‘first striker’.

Auston Trusty was a welcome sight and he strolled it with Liam Scales after the big international rightfully reclaimed the jersey, for the run in. Colby Donovan got roughed up in at the deep end again, but was unlucky and had no to time react for the handball penalty.

Keletchi is never going to be Mr Superfit, but if we can get him game time minutes, and keep him in the box he has the necessary predatory instinct, we’ve not had, for far too long. The away support were outstanding as per, a ‘Bhoys’ songs debate is the last thing we need, but they are taking centre stage. It’s always a joy to see the paying Celtic punters retrace the steps of our youth, enjoying Easter Sunday with a win to take back to Paradise.

  6. The Como way.

I wouldn’t mind seeing this full presentation.

Cesc Fàbregas has made a promising start to life as a head coach with Como in Italy’s Serie A. A wonderful player for Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea and Spain in the pomp of his playing days, Fàbregas has been cutting his coaching teeth at a club where success has historically been more difficult to achieve. Nonetheless, after being appointed permanent manager of Como in July 2024, he led them to a respectable 10th place in their first season back in the top flight in 21 years. In fact, it was the first time Como had managed to stay in Serie A in more than 30 years.

29 Oct 2025 — Mostly utilising a 4-2-3-1 structure with Como, Fàbregas has encouraged his side to play with possession to build and create. This has not …

Should Celtic adopt Como football strategy go for long term football stability

More importantly are those in the Executive positions even having a conversation about future football stucture at Celtic

  7. All focus will be on split fixtures…I think the powers will be wanting Hearts v Rangers last game…hoping Hearts will be fkd by then …because they’ll have played hibs and us away + 1 other ( Motherwell?) ..ideally for us …it would be Celtic v Hearts last game …doubt it’ll be that

Your interpretation, your perspective, fair enough

I suspect you did not read the article, you jumped to false assumptions both politically and of an anti Celtic viewpoint in respect to the National based on a photograph

BTW There were some posters on CQN who were not happy with the conduct of the Celtic fans in the Broomland stand that day…………no names

BSR earlier – good shout on fans at Dens yesterday.

Brilliant effort … particularly at 1-1

    LR67 @ 10:53am – cheers.

I have genuine respect for those, including charities, who slog through these troubled situations trying to make things just a tiny bit better.

    Huge credit to them.

    Often endeavouring largely unnoticed.

So, the opportunity to get noticed?

    Very tempting.

In their shoes I would likely do similar.

    My issues …

… For what they are worth (not much)

are with those who pretend to do something about societal issues in Scotland but don’t.

And yes I mean the Scottish Government

Plus those who, by ignorantly perpetuating and consuming this ridiculous O** F*** concept

… implicate Celtic in, among other things, social disorder, sectarianism, alcohol abuse, domestic abuse, support for terrorism.

    Are we squeaky clean? Nope

Are we filthy with it? Even more nope.
