DURAN DILEMMA

CAMILO DURAN’S anticipated debut for Colombia against Mexico on Sunday faces a delay.

The Celtic striker may miss out because of a red-tape wrangle that could also see the £6million summer recruit from Qarabag forced to be overlooked for two other friendlies against Paraguay and Peru, with all three fixtures scheduled for venues in the USA.

A hitch has emerged due to administrative paperwork, but team boss Nestor Lorenzo is eager for the situation to be taken care of in time to allow the Hoops star to take his bow against the Mexicans in Baltimore.

The international gaffer, speaking in a report in the Daily Record, said: “I am hopeful the issue will be resolved in time for our first game and, if not then, for the other games in the international schedule.

“Camilo is a very useful player to have in the squad because he can be used on both wings.

“He is also a finisher and can be used as a No.9, too. So, he will be a versatile option for us to have.”

Duran missed training at Lennoxtown as Celtic prepared for the recent games against Ferencvaros and Rangers as he had to travel to London in an attempt to clear any visa issues.

The new Bhoy got his Hoops career off to a convincing start and had scored six goals in five games before firing blanks in his last five outings.
