DUTCH TARGET CONFIRMS CELTIC BID

CELTIC’S £1million target Mitchell Dijks, the Willem II defender, has confirmed the Hoops have made a bid to sign him.
The 22-year-old left back, who can also play in central defence, is on Ronny Deila’s summer wish list as he prepares for Jason Denayer’s return to Manchester City.
Dijks revealed: “I’ve actually heard that Celtic are interested and have made an offer to my agent.
“They are obviously a great club and they again play in the Champions League.”

The defender joined Willem II from Ajax on a free transfer last summer and it has been reported that any deal will see most of the fee go to the Amsterdam club, due to an agreement between the two sides.

Dijks has impressed in his 26 appearances in the Eredivisie this season and attracted the attention of Parkhead talent scouts.

The Glasgow giants, of course, raided the Dutch market to land Virgil van Dijk in a £2.6million deal from Groningen in June 2013.
His contract expires in the summer of 2017, but Deila is bracing himself for bids from the Premier League in the close season. Everton joined the queue of admirers during the week.
As Hearts season ends today, Celtic’s interest in their want away skipper Danny Wilson, will also become clearer in the next week or so with the player having other options in England and in Greece.
