Ebe Ambrose gets deadline day drama underway

390

Celtic’s first piece of incoming transfer business this evening was for Nigeria international central defender, Efe Ambrose, 23, who joins from Israeli club Ashod.  I’ve absolutely no recon on Efe but I can tell you he has been our primary defensive target for some time now.  There has been considerable research put into his capture, so there should be few surprises to Neil Lennon and his coaching staff.

Our last venture into Israel, to sign Beram Kayal, was an unqualified success.  If Efe adjusts to life at Celtic as well we will have added an excellent defender to the squad.

Welcome to Celtic, Efe.  Don’t think we’re finished yet.

A lot has been going on mate, a lot still is, and a lot is sure to come, but all is good in the world tonight and I aim to keep it so.

Yeah I think today’s been a very good day for our club, with the hint of more to come. We’ve emerged from the last two weeks looking like we have a clear idea of what we’re all about, where we are going and secure about the future.

I am more optimistic than I’ve been in a long, long time.

That comes from being Last Man Standing. Our greatest rival is gone. A shadowy version, a ghost, has emerged to claim their mantle, but there are bumps in the road for them, and I don’t fancy their chances of rising to trouble us for many a long year.

This is a glorious time to be a Celtic fan.

A striker signed now, and we put the tin hat on a very good few weeks.

I want Russell, but I suspect he’ll be wearing Hoops in the fullness of time. I can wait.

Or so the English MSM would have us believe….

  10. Good evening friends from a darker than dark East Kilbride.

We have another 3 hours 20 minutes to sign someone and, if not, we have to wait another 4 months. Imagine if missing the deadline consigned us to 16 months with no more additions…

  11. Rumour has it that Georgi Kinkladze, Chic Charnley and Gerard Butler are being lined up as the new 3 amigos, negotiations are at an advanced stage with both Georgi and Chic in full agreement, however Gerard is the main stumbling block as he doesnt want to be associated with what he calls a “duff steve martin movie” and will only agree to put pen to paper if they can be called the 300 amigos.

  12. I got falcon first goal scorer and athletico to win …..so a good striker signed/ on loan and that will be my ” treble” for the night

Bloke 109, o.k Central American/ South American countries, they all play in the Copa Libertadores. There isn’t such a massive qualitative difference is there? What I’m really saying, is we need Chic Charnley, don’t we? ;-) Only joking, my favourite player of all time is actually Juninho, still got a Celtic shirt with his name on the back. I just think Scottish football is a different kettle of piranhas to South or for your benefit Central American football.

I hear we are in for a young Frenchman winger named Stephane Bonnes, I hear he has plenty of potential

    I don’t get £16 , , instead I get a payout of ordinary shares , which have a value of around £16.

I am hoping that if I live long enough I will have enough shares to get a seat on the board :-)

I suspect the majority of people who have preference shares have holdings in the region of 500 to 2000 shares. My 500 gets me £16, so I assume most minority shareholders are getting between £16 and £64 , and , they alo take shares rather than cash.

There will be rel fat cats , with handlebar moustaches who presumably get more …which personally , .I don’t have a problem with .

yes, of course I do and no way was I making light of his previous injury, just the fact that 3 goals had gone in past him. Falcao has been brilliant to be fair.
