The first hope during an international break is that the players return without injury. Last night I realised that my next hope is that Odsonne Edouard stops attracting attention to himself by putting the ball in the net for France Under-21s.
He scored twice in a 4-0 win against Albania. Odsonne’s form is either going to drop off a cliff edge, or the summer of 2020 is going to have a familiar theme for Celtic. We should be busy planning contingencies now.

We should have bought Stuani this summer. Languishing in Segunda in Spain. Guaranteed goals. No chance of getting him if they get promoted.
He’s 32 but we have short term objectives too.

Edouard is an outstanding talent. The boy has ice in his veins and he is going to fire us to 9 in a row. I don’t think he’ll be here for the 10 but we should be absolutely smashing the Scottish transfer record for the sale of a player when the time comes.

Impressive rant – unfortunately completely irrelevant to my point.
I made it clear that my post was not about Neil Lennon (obviously not clear enough for everybody) – it was about the style of play we should be adopting AS A CLUB, regardless of who is manager.
Paul’s article was about how we would/should be going back to the pragmatic style used by Neil Lennon (he has made similar points about Gordon Strachan also). I countered that argument by saying that just because a certain style worked for us (to an extent) a decade ago didn’t mean it would still work today in a completely different football environment, both financially and tactically.
I only mentioned Neil Lennon once (just as a brief aside) at the very end of the post to say how many games he had won in Europe. Quite how you manage to leap from that to me supposedly calling him a dinosaur I have absolutely no idea.
Crikey, it’s no wonder so many people don’t post on here anymore.
Not wanting to go out on a limb here, but does anyone else think that Griff is carrying a bit too much timber?

Sometimes the words we write on a screen ,in the absence of visible signs, does not convey exactly what they mean.
I gave yours a more general meaning of comparing NL with BR and that was influenced with my growing disaffection of keeping the ball at all cost.
In short I prefer a team prepared and able to mix it but with enough talent to entertain.
In my defense I watched Bobby Murdoch and Billy McNeil and Tommy Gemmel and even Bertie ,keep an eye on wee Jimmy and Bobby etc.

Dembele was up until this summer the French Under 21 striker. Edouard was the under 19 striker.
Now that Edouard is at least one of the French Under 21 strikers why don’t we buy up the new Under 19 and even the Under 17 strikers?
