EDOUARD: ARSENAL HIT LIST REVEALED

ODSONNE EDOUARD is NOT on the wanted list of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

The Celtic talisman has been linked with the London club for months and there have been persistent stories he was about to follow his former team-mate Kieran Tierney and take a big-money route across the border.

However, Edouard, who still has two years to run on his Hoops contract after arriving in a club record £9million switch from Paris Saint-Germain in June 2018, is missing from the four-man short-leet at the Gunners, according to reports in respected French journal Le 10 Sport.

Arteta has compiled a dossier on the men to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette who have both been mentioned as heading for the Emirates exit.

The former Rangers midfielder, who replaced the sacked Unai Emery in the club’s hot seat in December, is preparing for life without Aubameyang and Lacazette.

Ex-Hoops favourite Moussa Dembele and his Lyon team-mate Memphis Depay, Wolves’ Raul Jimenez and Newcastle’s Alan Saint-Maximin are the strikers the Spaniard has targeted.

Arteta faces fierce competition for the Molineux frontman with Real Madrid, Manchester United and newly-crowned Italian champions Juventus, winning their ninth successive title, also tracking the Mexican international.

Jimenez scored 20 goals for the Midlands outfit this season while Saint-Maximin has claimed four goals in his debut campaign on Tyneside.

Dembele, who quit the Hoops in June 2018 on a £19.8million deal to return to France, is the leading scorer of Arteta’s list with 22 goals while Depay finished the term with 14 strikes.

Arteta is preparing his team for Saturday’s English Cup Final with Frank Lampard’s Chelsea before plunging into the UK transfer market which officially opened today and will remain active until October 5.
