EDOUARD REMAINS AT CELTIC – FOR NOW

ODSONNE EDOUARD will be staying at Celtic – for now, at least.
The French striker’s chances of a reunion with former boss Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City were dynamited with the news the Irishman had just paid £23million for RB Salzburg hitman Patson Daka, according to a report in the Daily Record.

That deal has alerted Serie A giants AC Milan who have been monitoring Edouard for the best part of a year and got a close-up look at his qualities when the teams met in the Europa League last season with the Italians winning home and away.

A BIG HAND…Odsonne Edouard applauds the fans.

Rodgers has finally pulled the plug on any hopes of landing the player he signed from Paris Saint-Germain for a Hoops record fee of £9milllion in June 2018 after his initial impressive one-year loan switch.

Pacy Zambian international Daka has agreed a five-year deal at the King Power outfit and he is about to be joined by French midfielder Boubakary Soumare who is rated in the £20million bracket by champions Lille.

Celtic are not interested in accepting bargain bids for 23-year-old Edouard who only has 12 months to run on his contract. Former club PSG have a massive sell-on clause in his terms that could see them take a whopping 50 per cent of the profits in any transfer move concerning their former prospect.
