EDOUARD’S SEARCH FOR SEVENTH HEAVEN

0

ODSONNE EDOUARD’S last goal for Celtic was the winner in the 1-0 victory over Sarajevo in Bosnia on October 1.

The French ace’s 70th-minute strike propelled the Hoops into the Europa League Group stages and they play their third game in the section against Sparta Prague at Parkhead tonight.

Edouard has spent a frustrating period since then after being quarantined following his positive test for corona virus while on Under-21 international duty in Paris early last month. The previous season’s top marksman with 28 goals has found it difficult to hit the net with regularity and has collected a mere six – including a hat-trick in the 5-1 Flag Day triumph over Hamilton Accies on August 2.

Now the 22-year-old forward is going in search of goal No.7 and has the Czech Republic outfit in his sights as he attempts to get back on the goal standard.

Neil Lennon will almost certainly make him the spearhead on this occasion with Mohamed Elyounoussi, two-goal star in the 2-2 draw in Lille last week, as his running partner.

Leigh Griffiths, Albian Ajeti and Patryk Limala are also in contention to figure at some stage as they get a place in the provisional squad, according to the Daily Record.
