With an eye on the Champions League game tomorrow night, Brendan Rodgers chose to mix it up against Livingston on Saturday. The risk paid off with Benjamin Nygren lifting the champions to a comfortable 3-0 win. An added benefit was the gametime given to those who needed it, while we got a good look at Hayato Inamura and Shin Yamada.
Nygren has now played three league games for Celtic, scored three goals, hit the crossbar and has one assist to his name. You also get the feeling that he is only just beginning to get a feel for his teammates. When his passes do not reach their desired destination, it is because he expected a run which did not happen.
Arne Engels’ motivation is clear to see. The Belgium international was first choice last season, but has been left on the bench for key games this term. His response against Livi was as good as the manager would have hoped for.
Elsewhere the big result was Tony Bloom-inspired Hearts dropping two points at home to Motherwell. That allowed Celtic to open up a 2 point gap at the top of the table. Early days but you would rather be 2 points ahead than behind.

Back to Basics
He is referring to someones earnings over a 20 year period. The actual base figure is of course less than half that and a huge chunk is bonus and LTIP which is for securing and delivering long term sustainable profit and strategic targets and also is a form of ‘golden handcuffs) for key employees who owners feel are critical to businesses.
Even the total number including bonus for the period as an exec well below that mentioned.
Given public scrutiny and level of leadership challenge added to success vs KPI’s of role then I would say this is reasonable. Even more so given salary comparison with similar English clubs whose turnovers maybe greater but whose revenues are massively driven by a tv deal over which they have no control plus they actually have little bottom line accountability.
Given the shitshow of a revolving door for previous incumbents and the longevity / success of this guy then easy to justify.
I don’t know many, remotely close to having the right skill set, who would do it for twice this amount to be honest.
All above is a matter of public record of course.
Small envious types may of course take issue but should maybe be better focused on applying next time there is a vacancy or building their careers to do the role rather than wee jealous posts.

I will share with my labour MP who in line with most in Scotland (all I believe) has said nothing nor challenged Starmer over these horrors.
*oh come on who do you think created israel and I dont mean in 1948 but after WWI where an effort to establish a homeland for the Jewish people in Palestine they gained British support with the Balfour Declaration.
I cannot believe the labour party in power are simply falling in line with the USA and others behind Israel as they hasten and support genocide.

Unfortunately we won’t agree.
You want to believe the managers narrative and I wish he did not have a personal agenda.
We both want what is right for Celtic but sadly see through very different lenses on things.
There is a void in communication from the club right now. I think that is something we can agree on. The current CEO is barely visible and does not seem to want to engage or clarify. For me that really doesn’t help in times like this.
Tontine Tim
Fair point.
I meant in this day and age after canvassing with a more subtle pro Palestine ticket that they would do more when in power to address the situation.
B2B- Lawwell, cut through the propaganda, over £20 million out a business our size with how many full time employees? If you compared it to a major business, they wouldn’t get near that figure. HH
The long travel, playing in front of 60,000 Celtic fans we all believed this would be in our favour playing against Karait but it had no effect whatsoever, so equally the travel should not be a problem for the Hoops. There will be no superiority complex tomorrow night as perhaps we were all guilty of last week in this the biggest match of the season. Celtic were as flat as a pancakes last week this time I expect the team to be properly psyched up for the challenge especially as we don’t carry a big lead as expected from the first leg so no complacency.
Thanks, BB.
Just wanted the name.
The two posters who jumped in ahead of you didn’t actually provide one, although Burnley78’s was a better read than the other one.
Anyway, am broadly with B78 on this old chestnut.
Guy got total remuneration of £20m over 20 years with hefty bonuses included.
From memory, his average basic was somewhere around £650k to £700k per annum?
Could be wrong there. Happy to be corrected.
From the headline figure? … this is a little bit over the odds for me … but it’s past tense and my TARDIS is in the repair shop.
Couple of bits of context to this discussion.
All IMHO. All evidence light and gut driven.
Evaluating Peter Lawwell’s VFM is severely impacted by the fact I actually don’t know what he was paid to do
(I don’t mean the standard CEO job spec)
Doubt we’ll know anytime soon.
That poor comms thing again?
Pure guesswork, self made billionaires don’t go around telling people what they are doing before, during or even after they do it.
As for the total package?
Genuinely folks, regardless of whether I have the ability to be Celtic CEO (I don’t) ?
You could offer me five times that amount.
100 million smackers.
And if the deal included being in my home with my family when someone tried to burn it down?
I’d reject the offer in a heartbeat.

I have no problem on disagreeing – none of us have a monopoly on infallibility
I – like you – only have an opinion
But I would love to hear your thinking on the relationship between BR and PL
Its my view that that relationship is not great and as a consequence we have problem
I would love BR and PL to go for a pint and reconcile their differences – but that ship has probably sailed

Mickel-Ange Bid Low, – has been linked for so long he could be Celtic’s first ever new signing, that’ll no be like a new signing. Desperate stuff from Celtic whichever perspective you have on recruitment, we’ve wanted him possibly even before the hammer fell the Nicolas Kuhn’s £18M sound block, why we want him is another matter for debate.
Something we don’t have yet, a natural Centre Forward absent for successive managers. With Adam Idah injured or “injured” the shuffling up front has a place for a hero on tommow, bizarre that the vacancy might just get filled in time to have slipped into the wrong tournament. Maybe the right road, for “club signings“ and development players, whilst the ‘good value’ mantra .
The board aren’t as daft as they look, such is the ambition they are away ahead of anything within a hundred mile radius of Parkhead, now laughing all the way to the world’s biggest biscuit tin. How do they do it? they even seem to know in advance of every rebuild – the Rainjurz still urnae coming.
Same old Celtic always ‘conserving’.

BR left the pub as PL only bought a round if happy hour was on. :)
Want to know the difference between Celtic and rangers. Listen to Barry Ferguson and Charlie Mulgrew on go radio talk about the old firm. Ferguson language is war, fight, battles, kicking and screaming. Mukgrew talks about beautiful footballs great players and characters.
That’s why I support Celtic.
Yawn.
Virtually the same post, saying the same thing EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Many of us are starting to feel like Punxsutawney Phil.
I’m getting nervous. I wish this game was at home

I know this rhetoric is in their dna, the battle fever is a thing, no surrendering, gaurding walls, up to their knees in someones blood, but the weekend just there took it up notches.
Sportsound was particularly bad, giving a latform to “doddsy”, trying to persuade mccann to get the cans back on , and allowing mad eyes mcgregor a platform to spout shite.
But doddsy went to far when he stated “you have to take it to your enemies”, then tried to back track on it.
they deserve everything they get.
having said all that,
they do surrender, walk away, dont gaurd their own walls, and are lost without a leader, telling them what to do.
caller to clyde last night ………..
i am not one of these guys who left at 20 minutes, pause, i left on 12 minutes after the 2nd goal .
lately i have time on my hands so browse the more volatile blogs .
i dont particularly like how the executives perform, nor the pay grades, and mslty, the lack of relevant corporate comms to the customer base.
however,
the level of hatrad towards PL, ML and DD on these blogs has me thinking wow really.
The comments that get published can be outrageos, showing their photos with horrible headlines, it is really sinister.
Only a matter of time till someone gets hurt by some rager,
thats coming.
btw,
post anything that explains anything to do with corporate structure, business performance and indeed realities of operations, it will not be published.
at least paul lets anyone and everyone (!!!!!) post.
and in that SS and stebhoy is no ability to sit back , look at what’s put them where they are – calling for the umpteenth manager to be sacked – and sort it out.

With you all the way.
A genuine cultural divide.
The underdog pursues beauty, aesthetic (and equality) as an antidote to, or sometimes just an escape from, an unfair, unjust, underdog existence lived often without hope.
(Many of our forefathers, not us)
The supremacist rallies to the battle cry, the militaristic, the imperial … without ever stopping to think
“hang on, I get to share the glory but not the spoils?”

Evening all.
Saint Stivs.
I looked after Dodds Father In Law, in around 2002, in an institution in the north east.
If I recall his first name was Ewan, might be wrong, he had been an athletic coach from Lesmahagow.
I strongly emphasise that this had NOTHING to do with Mr Dodds, who we found very engaging.
You want read that in the SMSM.
stebhoy- correct, been saying same for years, when hun pundits tell you what they want from another new manager, its all kick ,fight and aggression talk, absolutely nothing about playing good attacking football
Voted Best Player- Jimmy Johnstone
Voted Best Player- John Greig
Sums it up
another btw.
James Forrest latest blog portraying Michael Nicholsons as a newly born and developing baby is really really strange, fixated on a target, kind of disturbing in content, I wonder if the man himself will be informed of it.
really poor way to try and get people motivated for change.

Many moons ago I was upgrading an Oracle database with a guy from India. We got to the database driver which took hours. I said to him he can go home, I’ll look at the log files and listen to the radio, we were playing at the bigotdome.
The guy said he would stay and listen too, you could hear their songs quite clearly. He turns round to me and asks, why do the sing songs about killing people……says it all really 🫣

For all the chatter, Miovski, yes.
Hail hail
If it wasn’t for David Murray’s alluring charm, Thatcher wouldn’t have pulled off the Hillsborough 1989 psyop event, 97 innocents sacrificed for every club in Europe to be hamstrung building new all seated stadiums, with the Huns decades more advanced than everybody else.
Then he pulled the EBT scam cause he thought that MON would win a European trophy, and the Bank under his table was no more so EBT’s was the game.
And I wonder what hold he had over Celtic PLC to go along with the same club lie 49 quid ticket scam?
56 quid now. lol
And Tims call the huns “gullible” lol

Whit …..are there two Fabio Silva’s 🫣🥴
The worlds gone mad !!
Wolves striker Silva closing in on Dortmund move
Wolves striker Fabio Silva is edging closer to a move to Borussia Dortmund.
The clubs have been in talks for some time, and Dortmund are about £4.3m (€5m) away from Wolves’ valuation.
The West Midlands club are looking for a deal totalling £26m (€30m
—–
He has an interesting transfer history where his agent gets an extremely large slice of the transfer fee. I am sure it is money laundering of some form or other
———– and then he pulled the ebt scam and shat out the hun identity for the rest of time.
e jealous posts.

It is not the Labour Party you once knew. To understand that you can go back to the coup against corbyn. Since that time, Labour lost its left-wing leanings. The leader in number 10, like the previous 3,4,5.. is weak, just like his counterpart in thr Whitehouse. Weak psychopaths in power always have something to prove, which makes them the most dangerous leaders of our time. With that devious devil Netenyahu pulling their strings, I fear for the very near future. September 13th?
Prestonpans, prior to retirement I worked for Oracle but on the hardware side. I joined when they purchased SUN Microsytems. I loved working for Sun but hated Oracle. Not a nice company.
On Balikwisha,Celtic put in a low offer, his club stuck at £5.1 million. We decided to look elsewhere, hence the ludicrous bids for Breaks.Liege then dropped the asking price to £4.6 million.
Of course SS,you put on here what you read, and everyone else is wrong.Never mind, you have a few nodding Donkeys piling in to back you up.
I know who is right. It ain’t your version.

Yes, I agree with the thrust of these two posts and the many more on similar track you’ve dropped across the Celtic internet.
Bear in mind, there are individuals who comprehend Annual Reports (the foundation of your idea about corporate structure, business performance and indeed realities of operations). Your inaccurate and misleading posts don’t help anyone.
Take a step back and become comfortable with the difference between CPOs and CCPs.

Fans have a right to be raging. We could go out tomorrow because those clowns .No matter what any of the Board Poodles say,not replacing,KYOGO,JOTA,KUHN,and leaving the team short for the Qualifiers is a crime.A gamble of ridiculous proportions n ot one of them has an excuse for.

Yeah I liked working with Sun for hardware, in Linlithgow,if memory serves me right. Last purchase was an M4000 before they got took over by Oracle.
