Really pleased for Tony Ralston, who along with Kieran Tierney, is included in the Scotland squad for the World Cup. Also going are Benjamin Nygren (Sweden), Sebastian Tounekti (Tunisia), Daizen Maeda (Japan) and Yang (Korea).
The USA squad has not been confirmed yet, so Auston Trusty can still hope to travel to his home country’s tournament. Mexico have also yet to announce their final squad, but Julian Araujo made the preliminary list. If Julian makes it (and we include him as a Celtic player) that could be eight Celtic players at World Cup 2026.
Unsurprisingly, that’s the most since the last time Scotland qualified in 1998, when 10 Celtic players were in France for the tournament. Four Celtic players were in Qatar in 2022, can you name them? Two are easy, one is very gettable, but there’s one I think will challenge a few of you.

Are they still crying ?
Did Tounekti make the squad?
Is MON going to the World Cup as a pundit with anyone? Always worth listening to.
They will always be crying…
Has McInnes been charged for the ‘ disgusting ‘ comment, Brendan was charged after a couple of days…..
Its OK for you all back there. The worldwide shame ,reported in the rags, has eventually hit Turkey.Hard to show my face in public. In Kusadasi this morning, someone said,”,Good morning”.,ha,I knew what they really meant. We sat at a restaurant for breakfast, the waiter said, the Chef has gone out just now, your order will take a bit of “extra time”,.It never ends.
He said “take your time,I will give you a minute”. Obviously reading Jackson,in the Record
My face was scarlet.
I won’t be out in public again until this shame blows over.
Do we have a big match in Scotland this weekend? You know the match the rags love to wax lyrical about as being our games” Showpiece”.
Idiot Clark getting involved in the ” Field invasion” nonsense.Supposed to be a PC on his squad. The rabid hacks can’t help themselves, but he can.Should have told them,Piss off”
Right enough, with that selection, maybe he was desperate for a distraction.

What about AJ, is he not in Canadian squad?
On the game itself on Saturday. I thought the way we managed the game out was outstanding. Hearts got nowhere near our goal.
The reactions to press the ball by Kilechi and Callum on the second phase of the free kick absolutely superb. If you freeze frame at the point Callum passes, the entire defence has pushed out. If Devlins shot goes through pretty much all Hearts players are offside.
I was disappointed to lose a back post header considering we lost 2 at Tynecastle.
It would appear Stephen McManus has been doing good work with the defence.
World Cup?
Yeah, whatever.
Celtic Are Champions.

here is an unusual consequence of generational success.
It is harder to remember players and managers exact timelines, and there are lots of overlapping periods, and other than covid season, there are not definitive breaks in success that define an era.
managers reigns are short, hundreds of players come and go. i can remember the love street winning team, i strggle more with who won the 2 in a row for ange.
but here goes for 2022. and i guess more than 4.
ccv for usa.
daizen and reo for Japan.
Rogic and Mooy for Oz.
the surpise one, who i thought would be a sensation at celtic ……………. ajeti switzerland.
Toulouse officially approach Motherwell for permission to speak to JBA
RIP Mikey Mikey Mikey Mikey Galloway
then what about JJ for Croatia, or GG for Greece.
Midweek just checked….. media still melting down over our dramatic title win. No pause for breath as Celtic supporters scramble for any loose Cup Final tickets, for the latest consecutive ‘double’ attempt. There aren’t enough people live in Dunfermline to justify their ticket allocation, and thousands of seats will be unsold.
It’s tough enough for Sconny Botland when Celtic win, but winning when least expected after a ‘dysfunctional’ season, is very hard to ‘bear’ it seems.
There is no barrier for entry into Celtic bashing, a national pastime for bigots that think sectarianism at the sight of anything green.

Was told JBA has had 2 interviews for Cektic job but hadn’t been given gig. Might be wrong info but just saying what I heard. Assume if he was getting it then approach from Toulouse would be a waste of time. Good luck to him. He has them playing great football but I’m still undecided on him.
BSR – correct, not just anti-Celtic but blatant sectarianism in this best of small minded countries. I do hope that before the cup final press conferences, Celtic say no questions about last week and that focus is purely on final so don’t bother asking anything about pitch invasions etc.
Noisy messy Arsenal fans in North London celebrating, will the Prime Minister be asked about it as the First Minister here was? No need to answer Celtic is hated.
KB
That’s what should happen but Ian Jamieson is a Hearts supporter and he is in charge of media conferences.
Have we signed Kelechi Iheanacho on a permanent deal yet? A class apart from the rest.
PaddyF- agree ,but if he does stay, due to his injury record, will be on a much reduced wage,I think he’s as fit as he’s going to get right now,
MON interview 😁😁

Kels is a cracking footballer but he’d need to be on a pay-per-play deal to make sense for next season.
We got less than 500 minutes from him this season from 58 matches, less than 10% utilisation. Even if he starts on Saturday it won’t move the dial much.
It would be quite a risk to commit a top salary to a player who has not been able to maintain fitness for a number of years now.
I expect he’ll get better offers than we’re able/prepared to make.

You are correct, the squad is not announced until 29th May but he is expected to be in.
I’m looking forward to the World Cup in a way that I wasnt a week ago, winning the league means I can watch football without wanting to put my foot through the tv :)
Personally I would take up the option we have for another year, he’s technically the best footballer in Scotland and with a pre season and some work on his fitness I think he’s a decent option for the champions league – he offers another option to help us with the perennial problem we have of beating a well-organised press.
We’ll also probably start the season without any other strikers in the building, attracting a decent one to Scotland is difficult enough without them having to deal with the pressure. if he’ll stay a year of Kelechi is a bit of mitigation against the risk that every high pressure signing seems to be for us these days. And theres something very Celtic about a guy like him, a good player with some obvious flaws but still able to do a great job for us
Ultimately, though, its down to the new head coach/manager. Technical ability is of limited use if the player doesnt fit into a new system. If its Askou we’ll need much quicker and fitter players all over the pitch if the system he plays at Motherwell is to work here.
Should read
“Personally I would take up the option we have for another year on Kelechi”
“We’ll also probably start the season without any other strikers in the building,”
Is also guff. I meant: “of the strikers we ended the season with he’ll most probably be the only one who’s with us at the end of the window”
I hope Osmand has a very successful injury free next season at Celtic, i like this guy, fast looks a good finisher and gets between the sticks
Bloom says “Well, the final whistle hadn’t gone so no supporter should be on the pitch. The Hearts players were in danger, one or two got assaulted. It’s completely unacceptable behaviour”
You would have thought by now you have a definite list of who got assaulted, supported by evidence, not “one or two got assaulted “
I saw one or two Celtic fans who got assaulted with evidence, Shankland for one assaulted a fan, shouldn’t have been on the park granted, so I would like to see Bloom’s proof.
Of course he is in the Scotland squad so nothing will be said.
If only we had a lawyer on the Board……
After the stress of the season I need a footy break over the summer after the Cup Final. The next event of any interest is our CL qualifier.
Might dip into final stages of world cup. Haven’t looked at Scotland squad and couldn’t care less. Don’t wish them ill in any way; just not interested.
Interest will pick up as we sort out management team and players for next summer.
Sitting here this morning reading about Southampton and “spygate” and I have no doubt this happens at other clubs and sports as the high demand for success out there is quite consuming, so in saying that, and I have mentioned this before, several months back while Wilfie was discussing tactics with CalMac on his iPad, badger the tadger was seen keekin over their shoulders in our technical area and smirking away as he signaled 3, 5, 2 to his players out on the field prior to a game which we eventually lost, surely this is also a form of “spygate”
