Really pleased for Tony Ralston, who along with Kieran Tierney, is included in the Scotland squad for the World Cup. Also going are Benjamin Nygren (Sweden), Sebastian Tounekti (Tunisia), Daizen Maeda (Japan) and Yang (Korea).
The USA squad has not been confirmed yet, so Auston Trusty can still hope to travel to his home country’s tournament. Mexico have also yet to announce their final squad, but Julian Araujo made the preliminary list. If Julian makes it (and we include him as a Celtic player) that could be eight Celtic players at World Cup 2026.
Unsurprisingly, that’s the most since the last time Scotland qualified in 1998, when 10 Celtic players were in France for the tournament. Four Celtic players were in Qatar in 2022, can you name them? Two are easy, one is very gettable, but there’s one I think will challenge a few of you.

‘Upcoming Match’ ticket in 🏆.
I expect Tony Bloom’s organisation placed a shilling or two on Celtic to win the title when we moved out to 4/1 a few weeks ago.
He doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy to overlook an opportunity like that.
Clear evidence turns up of hearts players being assaulted

Oh sorry – I got that well wrong, it was 2 pitch invasions when an entire season came down to the last minutes

I guess Bloom is being circumspect.
You do not need physical contact to be guilty of assault. Threats or actions that cause a person to fear harm comes into the category.
We have a double to contemplate, it is already yesterday’s news. ( I hope )
HH.
When they beat Sevco at Tynecastle they thought the league was won, wives wanes and family members on the pitch enjoying a sing song and a walkaround, same after the Falkirk game, then the looks on the faces when Kels banged in the penalty at Motherwell meant they had to get a draw at Celtic Park to win the League, they didn’t fancy it, despite taking the lead the couldn’t get over the line, their constant time wasting from the first seconds of the game, their tactics from the loser McInnes came back and bit them on the arse like a Rottweiller. Champions Again.

After the stress of the season I need a footy break over the summer after the Cup Final. The next event of any interest is our CL qualifier. Might dip into final stages of world cup. Haven’t looked at Scotland squad and couldn’t care less. Don’t wish them ill in any way; just not interested.
*me neither but I’m old school who remembers how some, not all I hasten to add, of our players asked Jock if they could pull out of the squad as they were sick of the abuse they were getting from their supposed support.
I am at present no really interested in the WC at all but that’s down to other factors outwith the games themselves. I have watched every WC since Pele’s 1958 debut in Sweden, except for the 1978 Argentina one and that’s only down to some entrepreneur gaining the rights to show some of the games in the big screens in the major cities which left a bad taste in my mouth.
In saying that though I did initially state I would boycott the 2022 Qatar one but after watching the opening game thought eff it why not and I must admit, controversy notwithstanding, IMHO it was an excellent managed WC, so who knows, although I will look in on the ones at the Canadian and Mexican venues, btw the latter has hosted 2 WC’s alone and again IMHO the 1970 one was the finest ever, as for the 1986 one they came in at the drop of a hat to host it as the original venue in Columbia withdrew.
excellent DB – it’s like a technical guide to ‘ How to give to give yourself the chance of not getting it over the line!’
“The Hearts players were in danger, one or two got assaulted”

Informed by precision data from Jamestown Analytics?
Tony Bloom’s a Zionist, they don’t make unfounded claims. 😉

I’m well aware of what can constitute as assault but he’s alluding to physical only. If it was verbal or whatever even I would say one or two is conservative.
Guess AJ will make the Canada squad after his timely return to the Celtic squad and latterly the team.
Hoped Engels might make the Belgium squad if only to give him a National platform, more to offer the Belgium team in terms of the way they play than Raskin who is in. Ben Doak should consider himself lucky to get in the squad, not sure if he has started any games for Bournemouth this season. Got ability of course but no Jamesie.
Steve (not a good look) Clarke will be hoping that the so called ‘Tartan Army’ do not invade Hampden after their send off game against Curacao (me neither), Ally McLeod didnt bother with the opposition in 1978.
Decent effort from Belle & Sebastian though….
Bloom thinks non-existent assaults are bad and should be punished.
but bombing children is good and should get his funding.
ok then.
letting him near a football club in this country says a lot about the state of the game.
May 2015 – Motherwell vs Rangers – Motherwell fans celebrate on pitch after play-off win.
May 2016 – Hibernian vs Rangers (Hampden) – Hibs fans invade pitch after Scottish Cup win; disorder and clashes occur.
April 2017 – Rangers vs Celtic – Rangers fan runs onto Ibrox pitch and grabs Scott Brown by the jersey.
May 2019 – Kilmarnock vs Rangers – Kilmarnock fans celebrate on pitch after securing league title; manager Derek McInnes embraces invasion and says fans “deserved their moment of glory.”
August 2019 – Kilmarnock vs Rangers – Rangers fans invade pitch after Connor Goldson’s 91st-minute winner; disabled shelter roof collapses during celebrations; four arrested.
March 2026 – Rangers vs Celtic – Pitch invasion at Ibrox after Scottish Cup tie; missiles thrown, officers injured.
April 2026 – Hibernian vs Hearts – Two men arrested for pitch invasion during Edinburgh derby.
May 2026 – Celtic vs Hearts – Celtic fans pour onto pitch after title win.
Even on Saturday a few hours after our game, fans were on the pitch after the Stenhousemuir V Alloa playoff final. And Stenhousemuir had the same last year when promoted too.
One last banging on about how badly McInnes got it wrong –
over the years paul67 has highlighted a managerial mistake many times
I can’t remember if paul has called it a name or not but the example I remember most is –
in preparation for a game against livi don’t bring the pitch up ; you’re making a narrative the players will adopt; giving them an excuse.
So create your own approach, control the pre-match story.
McInnes by telling the players it was ‘disgusting’ thought he was maxing out the siege mentality but was really telling them ‘Celtic will win there’s nothing you can do’!
McInnes by instructing the players to go down for nothing, he thought he was telling the players to control the tempo but was telling them we’re not good enough.
By getting the players and family out on the pitch , he thinks he’s saying we are part of this story, we are league champions but he was really saying we don’t have to worry about celtic.
Anybody remember if paul7 gave it a name?
Even Rugby has its post match pitch invasions. The Scotland fans invaded after the Grand Slam win v England in 1990. English players subsequently were quoted as saying they were met with a barrage of abuse and that “hatred is not the wrong word” for what they experienced on that day.
And that was from our sporting models on how to behave at sport’s events.
Hearts fc
Any chance of a breakdown on injuries sustained by players from your playing staff at Celtic Park I’m sure you would like to share images of those affected on the playing surface.Don’t be shy with your response…..
Response from Hearts FC to BhoyJoeBelfast
One of our players has a damaged foot from being assaulted by a mobile phone, and a Scotland internationalist has shoulder injury from tackling a supporter.
Spittal was definitely injures, allegedly.
But, not on the park, after the game.
Allegedly, a barrel and falling off were involved.
Allegedly.
Wonder if the zionist or pissed lord or ‘up to his knees’ manager would care to comment?
CROFTCELT @ 6:39
Nice reply. If they ( Hearts staff) had ,had sustained injuries it would have been made public, media would have a field ( no pun intended) day. They lost,we won…..that sums it up nicely. It will be interesting to see if our allocation will be slashed at the home of the runners-up.
the hearts fans – and every other non-celtic fan to be honest – should be taking aim at mciness and his tactics.
they only needed a draw against a team who hadnt beaten them all season in previous 3 games, including a win at the same stadium.
and he drops their best player, and tells his players to just go down at every opportunity, fake head injuries to get the game stopped etc etc, from early in the game.
instead of just doing the same thing that got them the results in the previous 3 games, to actually win the title.
but it just showed him up for the hatred of us, sacrificed a title win for it.
and since then has surfaced everyone elses hatred as well because they rather talk about stonewall penalties and pitch invasions.
love it!

That reflects my thinking when the cameras sought his views at Tynecastle. He knows Hearts do not have the ability to win at CP. Players gave same impression.
the hearts players safety was so in danger apparantly,
that the police told them they had to get right back on their bus without time to change out of their strips.
but when you see the footage, theres not a cop in sight, just a tie and suited celtic official.
😄
apart from the genocide funder bloom and the media, i guess you will hear little more about this from hearts manager/playing staff.
Strictly speaking by the laws of the game Shankland and the Mobile Smasher we’re choosing not to leave the field of play and were aggressively engaging with fans , which is a no no.
Is this not a Red Card ?
Shankland had to be dragged off by Security , another offence
Justaskingforafriendcfc
he lost it Auldheid – he’s been caught out.
Begs the question : Tony Bloom’s a shred operator – not long left for McInnes
I was afraid they’d come and have a go at us for 90 mins – we haven’t had an answer to that

Spot on assessment of their failings, especially this point:-
“their constant time wasting from the first seconds of the game, their tactics from the loser McInnes came back and bit them on the arse like a Rottweiller. Champions Again.”
I appreciate that this may sound like hindsight but when I saw them time wasting , almost literally from the outset, I felt even more confident we could win it.
Had Hearts come out and attempted to play front foot football for 90 minutes they might have won’t the thing.
Instead they displayed mental weakness. Even with a goal advantage they didn’t really press for another until desperation set in with 10 or so to go.
The rest is literally history despite their bleating and false accusations.
First thing Guardiola did last night was to congratulate Arsenal.
Have Hearts had the class to congratulate Celtic, even through gritted teeth?
Not that I’ve seen.
Kelechi Iheanacho has refused to sign a contract.
It means he would have to put the Premier League Trophy down and he’s not prepared to let go of it yet.
Looks like JBA isn’t coming here/ we don’t want him:-

That’s exactly what I thought they’d do and they might’ve got a better result if they had.
However, think that’s giving too much credit to them and their shit, bitter hun manager.
MON had the team up for it like I don’t think greeting face McInness did.
Came to fall, fake and cheat their way to the title and it backfired big time. GIRFUT! 😂😂😂👍
Over 100 hours since McInnes and Hearts lost the league to a special Celtic team.
Still no evidence of assaults on Hearts players despite every media output alleging so.
Loads of footage of McInnes sing of being up to his knees in fenian blood.
Loads of footage of him acting like a ned with opposition players.
Loads of footage of him staring with disdain and contempt at Celtic players warming up.
Loads of footage of him snarling and entering the Celtic dug out area twice.
Loads of footage of NFL being assaulted at Tynecastle.
Loads of footage and eternal memories of McInnes winning one away game out of the last 7, putting his whole team up for a free kick in the league decider and leaving his goal unattended.
Get it up you and your plastic forehead😀
Del….get it right up

Aye. Just checked Wikipedia and he’s no 21 till November.
Even better. 😁😎👍
Surely the most famous/infamous pitch invasion of all time is forever captured in the words of Kenneth Wolstenholme.
‘Some people are on the pitch, they think it’s all over’, and as the England forward Geoff Hurst scores the final goal, he concludes, ‘It is now!’

And yet at a time, with supposedly much inferior players at Hearts, Seven Naismith as Hearts manager went to Parkhead and defeated the supposedly superior Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers, 0-2, by parking the bus and skelping Celtic’s lackadaisical erchie to the effect that, not only did Brendan’s tippy tappy, 2 wingers, 2 attacking fullbacks, 1 striker, borefest, couldn’t muster a single shot at Hearts goals!, so super that Celtic were, that their super team get BOOOOOOED off the pitch at half-time and also full-time by the super lol Celtic fans!
Even Santa Claus at the halftime raffle draw, incurred the wrath of the precious Celtic fans who were so upset that some opposition manager clued up and called dreamlike Celtic’s lazy bluff!
Them’s the apples!
Keep well Auldheid.
