ELYOUNOUSSI ON WANTED LIST

MOHAMED ELYOUNOUSSI, who spent last season on loan at Celtic, is a wanted man.

Neil Lennon has already revealed he wants to keep the Norwegian international attacker and his Southampton team-mate Fraser Forster in the Hoops’ bid for a record-breaking TENTH successive title.

Elyounoussi, 25, won over the Parkhead fans – especially with his to-goal performance against Hibs in the 5-2 Betfred League Cup semi-final win in November – but his career at the title kings was hampered with a broken toe and he finished on seven strikes from only 20 appearances.

Now a report from Spain indicates the Morocco-born frontman is also a tranfer target for La Liga outfit Real Sociedad.

The top-flight team, sitting fourth in the league, are ready to compete with Neil Lennon’s side for the left-sided raider who cost the south coast club £16million when he arrived from Basel in in 2018.

News outlet Todo Fichajes claim Sociedad are ready to make a move to reunite the former Molde star with his international team-mate Martin Odegaard in San Sebastian.

Forster remains Lennon’s priority, but the Irishman had earmarked Elyounoussi for a role in his team after allowing left-wingers Scott Sinclair and Lewis Morgan to leave Parkhead during the January window.

The one-time England international joined up with former Hamilton Accies boss Alex Neil at Preston while the ex-St Mirren prospect moved to MLS outfit Inter Milan.
