Newco’s offer of 700 tickets for visiting Celtic fans next season, as reported this morning, is nothing new, it is their default position. I have been there among this number, kettled by police 90 minutes before kick-off, then showered by bottles and lighters during the game. Parking and walking towards Ibrox among Newco fans attending the 7,000 capacity Broomloan Stand who got there early.
Who thinks this is safe? The kettling wasn’t, anyone who was old or with health difficulties would be traumatised by the experience. Bottles raining on top of fans is a serious accident waiting to happen. We won the day I was there, Newco fans left early and we were kept late, so the streets were clear by the time we left the stadium, but other results are possible.
My first visit to Ibrox was 40 years ago. Then, Celtic fans had the whole of the Broomloan Stand, some of the Govan Stand, half of the Enclosure and a third of the Main Stand. The stadium capacity was 44,000 and it was still not a sellout. It was a time they could not afford to turn any Celtic fans away.
We will not be back at Ibrox in safe numbers until they need Celtic fans to buy their tickets. The only solution to the impasse is to beat them so comfortably and so often that they need us to buy lots of tickets. It is harsh, because they are our neighbours and this is not neighbourly, but for the sake of football in Glasgow, we need to absolutely wipe the floor with them for so many years thousands of their fans simply stop turning up.
I think this is a challenge worth undertaking.

AT,
Hi ya mate
GP-Mhairi Black ( note the spelling ) is well documented for her controversial comments. I could have linked the Irish Times et al for her ” Plastic Irish” comments but I have linked your favourite news outlet.
AT- spelling her name incorrectly was a result of predictive text
Do feel free to post the comments on plastic Irish a popular comment among your parties local lodge.Am sure you’ll be able to source plenty there.its OK Gp we know it’s an inculcated unionism before socialism and under keev that’s a word long gone.
GP I do notice that you have ” missed” the part where I said I actually quite like Mhairi and she will be missed in parliament.
AT didn’t miss it at all. I only asked for a link to what she said.i accepted what you said without comment on it.
GP I stand by that . She will be missed and I actually do like her and her plain language speaking.
AT Don’t doubt that GP but a little reminder of comment made 10+ years ago give a little emphasis for you where?
You had the party you vote for lodge members up and down our streets last saturday in its anti Catholic bigots.
Jeez! A dR trasher as one of the Alexander sisters/bros

Some people think cricket is the most boring team sport in the world.
It’s not.
It’s women’s cricket.
Kinda like the idea of the Celts having a party when the hun have an empty…😜
GG….sorry to hear of your illness.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers….
Ronnie
Best wishes, GG. 🍀
AN TEARMANN on 6TH JULY 2023 1:49 PM….
Sorry to say….you have still not spelled the name properly.
Mairi is the correct spelling for what you have typed. If your sentence was in Gaelic, you would have used Màiri.
Mhàiri is the vocative tense, as in when you are talking TO Màiri.
Example:
Seo Màiri – this is Mairi.
Halo a’ Mhàiri – Hello Mairi.
I hope that this helps….

It’s a rollercoaster.
Scotland really are blowing an incredible advantage here.
Wow.
Scotland got so lucky there. A lifeline
Literally ran over time to appeal decision by a second but it was allowed and Dutch captain given out.

Netherlands 233 for 5 off 40 overs.
Need 45 runs off next 4 overs to win.
Tight
Same old Scotland.
What a joke !
Totally embarrassed themselves.
All the best GG
Absolute embarrassment.
They needed 30 more runs. Pathetic captain right through the tournament.
Playing like it’s a test match. Dutch captain showed him up.
The Dutch needed snookers to qualify and they won by a mile.
Clearly the crowd are on their side and no wonder.
de Leede leads Scotland a merry dance
To quote Arthur Montford, disaster for Scotland.
Honestly even by Scottish standards that was shocking.
Scotland beat 3 test nations and fail to qualify. The Dutch beat only one in a super over and yet get through.

Covid Health Update
Since my initial positive report end of last week things have gone downhill. Like a poor second half.
Covid in serious threat to lungs. I’ve been transferred to ICU and undergoing oxygen therapy and a standard protocol of a drug regime with Remdesivir and a couple of others.
60% success rate but my immune suppressants reduce survival chances.
So please offer a prayer and /or positive thoughts.

Look forward to yours and OGs match updates when the fitba starts. YNWA
Much to my surprise, I am saddened that Scotland lost at the cricket. Never been even interested before. Feels distinctly odd. It’s like I feel when we lose to the deid team. Awfae weird.

RONNNIE-Sorry to say….you have still not spelled the name properly.
AT -i only had one attempt at spelling ‘her’ name at 10.29,it defaulted to predictive I didn’t repeat my error at 1.49 but am sure like GP I am always interested in language and its correct use.
RONNIE Mairi is the correct spelling for what you have typed. If your sentence was in Gaelic, you would have used Màiri.
AT ‘Re Mairi Black’s comment on Celtic? <from 10.17
So does that mean my linguistic predictive text default is correct lol wait til I see GP :-))
Mhàiri is the vocative tense, as in when you are talking TO Màiri.

Seo Màiri – this is Mairi.
Halo a’ Mhàiri – Hello Mairi.
